@amiablePeace77

thank great a old counselor we had long time ago. had us use a shoe-box and make a tool box of things for copping. it was a great help for many in a group we used to have online. within one we made was candy suckers seeing we have DID they was great for the younger ones and the very young ones we had ring-pops for.

we also had in it key chains with little stuffed animals on for when not at home. so we did not seem childish carrying a bigger one around.

so maybe others would like to try this idea we kelp it in a backpack bag so we had it when out.

@amiablePeace77 🤔🤔

1) stress balls to throw at people who stress me out😁 (and a few darts just incase I'm really stressed😇)

2) some pedals to attach to my wheelchair (just in case my arms get tired)

3) a spoon (cause you never have when you need a icecream break)

4) my unicorn mayo. Mayo neighs. (Because he can fly, so you never know when he'll come in handy)

5) a book on how to start growing up and become mature😁❤

Name 5 items you put into your coping skill toolbox (physical items or mindfulness techniques) 😊

1. Journaling

2. Music

3. My inner self

4. Meditation

5. This community of friends here (you know who you are)

In no particular order. Just named them as they come to me. Doesn’t matter what number they’re at. They’re all equally important. I have more but it was said to name 5 so yeah.

@akunknown

Sorry about having limited it to 5, I just realized the error and corrected it to 5 or more!

I love that you put your inner self into the coping toolbox as well. It feels like the most important coping "Tool" we actually have! 😉

@amiablePeace77

Hey my friend, nothing to apologize for! Just to be clear, I was simply just saying that I had more tools than 5 but since it was 5 I just named the 5 that came to my head as they got there.

No error that needed to be corrected. I loved that you chose 5 bc it got people to really think about it imo.

But since you already changed it to 5 or more, there’s definitely benefits to that too.

Great thread created yet again so thanks so much!

Hugs ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ which is also one of my other tools along with love by the way :)

@akunknown

And yes I agree with you that our inner selves are the most important coping tool we have. But that’s if we practice self care and keep ourselves healthy and everything. Here’s hoping everyone here does that and motivates the rest of society to.

Everyone has amazing tools and I’m definitely adding to my toolbox!

I like to keep pictures of places that make me feel calm and happy in my box (or videos on my phone). That way I can mentally revisit them when I need a break.
