Course 1, Discussion 3: Avoiding Burnout

Hope December 5th, 2022

7 Cups is founded on a community of passionate volunteers who lovingly dedicate their time to providing support.

You may face what is called burnout during your journey. You may have already faced this in your real life. Burnout is very real and must be recognized. You can't help fuel someone else when your tank is empty, after all!

@twerp I often have to remind myself this when it feels hard or I don’t feel like I’m able to help support someone

You're right. I found that last message very touching and it served as a good reminder of the value we provide.

@Hope

i have completed over 5 steps of the preventing burnout path and i have taken the quiz. I really liked this lesson because I found that I could relate to the feeling of being burned out at times and I’m glad I found ways to better manage my time and understand my limits

✒️ What is a key system that you need to set up in your life to help you succeed?

One key system I need to set up in my life is a structured time management system. This system would help me prioritize tasks, allocate time effectively, and maintain a balance between personal and professional responsibilities. By having a well-organized schedule, I can minimize procrastination and ensure consistent progress toward my goals.

✒️ What are 3 behaviors you can implement to help you gradually grow that new system in your life?

  1. Set daily and weekly goals: Breaking larger tasks into smaller, manageable goals helps me stay focused and track progress more easily.
  2. Use a planner or digital tool: Consistently using a planner or app to schedule tasks and deadlines will ensure that I stay on track and hold myself accountable.
  3. Review and adjust regularly: At the end of each week, I’ll review my progress and make any necessary adjustments to my system, ensuring it evolves with my needs and stays effective.
