Note: Please expect delays if you reach out to me. Due to my schedule, it may be a few days before you get a response, especially over the weekend. I will reply to all messages, though, and if it's been a bit, feel free to send another message to 'poke' me again. Thanks!

Hi! My name is Will (he/they), and I'm really glad you've found me here on 7 Cups. I know firsthand how hard opening up to people can be, so I'm glad you're taking a step in the right direction.

About Me: I am an undergraduate student studying neuroscience. I use my lived experience to guide my knowledge but stay current on psychological literature. I am a Dissociative Disorders Discussion Host (check the discussion schedule out here: https://www.7cups.com/forum/trauma/General_2433/ScheduleDiscussionsoftheTraumaSubCommunity_302437/) and currently try to focus my chats on those with dissociative disorders and trauma, though I am open to chat with about a variety of things outside of that.

Experience: My primary area of expertise is in dissociative disorders and trauma, but I have many areas that I can support individuals in, including, but not limited to anxiety, depression, school/work stress, and addiction. Outside of here, I have over a year of clinical experience in residential and addiction programs and over a year of research experience on psychopathologies.

Time: On average, I can dedicate 45-90 minutes per individual chat. I will give 5-10 minute notices before I have to sign out, so do not expect an abrupt end to a conversation. I can check back with individuals after a conversation, but I typically offer one-off support to folks. Please let me know if you would like me to check back in, and expect a check-in after roughly a week if you ask.

Disclaimer: Due to being a student, my availability may be spotty during certain academic periods, so if you need to reach me, please message me and be patient (feel free to double message as well).

Thank you for taking the time to read this; if you have any questions or just want to reach out, feel free to send me a message.

...See more Hello everyone! I'm WillingToHelpU, also known as Will or Willing. I'm a room supporter for Trauma Support, and I host sessions in chats (mostly) weekly, along with being an ATL on here. Right now, I host support chats for teens with dissociative disorders on Wednesdays and guided support chats for adult trauma survivors on Fridays. Outside of Cups, I am a full-time student who is also doing neuroimaging research (which is why my hosting schedule can sometimes be thrown in the loop as my academic schedule changes). I'm in the last semester of my undergrad and have been navigating this experience as a disabled, queer, and trans person with a service dog at my side. This leads me to give back to my community through my involvement on Cups and campus, as I understand just how tough life can be. When I'm not on Cups or in my lab, I'm either playing fetch with my dog, riding horses, listening to music, or playing comfy video games. You can also catch me taking several naps or doing art, as I truly believe in the idea of 'rest is resistance' (for more on this topic, I recommend looking up Tricia Hersey and her organization, The Nap Ministry). I really enjoy the work I do here on Cups, and I have been floating around this website since 2019. I enjoy being a room supporter with trauma support, being an ATL, and also just being here for people. I like to let my personal experiences guide me, but I am always open to learning more, as I believe each and every person I talk to brings a different and very important viewpoint. Thank you for reading and being here, and I hope you have a restful day. :)
