theriverissinging August 16th, 2023

hi everyone!

back again with yet another prompt this week, which is the third in the journaling prompts series. you can find the last week's prompt here.

visualize your anger as a weather pattern. is it a fleeting storm or a lingering fog or something else? what elements contribute to its formation? how can understanding its nature help you navigate through it?

feel free to use this thread or make an entry on your path or anywhere else you'd like to journal. you are also welcome to just share how you are feeling today, any experiences, learning, or anything that is on your mind.

sending love 🫀

@theriverissinging It's a lingering storm. The kind that the thunder rumbles endlessly. Dark black billowing clouds. Flashes of lightening that crack with each illumination. The wind howls and rattles the world.

It seems threatening because anger is scary. Other people's anger can be intimidating. Never being able to express my own anger growing up is why it seems endless. The only world it rattles is mine because I never let it out. I don't let people know I'm upset or angry

My anger is a constant dark stormy sky waiting to rain h*ll over the normies who have hurt me. I can't wait till they suffer! They deserve everything that happens to them

OH. That's sad azuela. I think our lives sometimes go in waves. I remember once I was tired of some persons (LOL). I went by my car to a beach to be there alone. And guess who found me - yes the 2 persons I went away from. They wanted to se how I was.
Well - I hope your days will be brighter soon. I tried to see what country you came from, but it didn't say. Only a red ball. Maybe that's your flag and I should know.

(If you don't mind I'll say a prayer for you to Jesus Christ this evening that your days might be easier soon).

Well, I'm far away from you - from Norway. My brother visited your country once. He gave me a gift from there, small trays to have under your glass, made of wood. I had it under my cup of coffee this morning! I prayed for you yesterday and this morning. And today I bless you in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. (I think our own - Erik Solheim - was involved at your country some years ago trying to make some peace between some of your people).

My anger is like a calm fog sometimes but mostly, it bursts like thunder in a storm. most times i control it but usually, i keep quiet to not hurt people's feelings.

Keith.

You're a kind person. If you dare, after a while when you have quiet down, you can form in words, sentences what made you feel angry. It can be difficult.

@theriverissinging

I am an emotional person and this contributes to my anger. Sometimes, I feel like I'm a screeching, cranky bird or an aggravated chihuahua with not-so-sharp teeth, only giving the impressions that I'm immature and I get frustrated quickly. My anger can intensify its weather. It can feel like some grey rain clouds, contributed with my other negative feelings I have, but by intensify... I mean it can QUICKLY intensify depending on what happens to me. It storms lightning and thunder inside of me... sometimes I'll show my anger visibly with my face and how I walk, other times I'll keep it inside of me. If no one's around... I might screech, scream, and do a lot of stressed noises, unleashing my anger only to myself. If I struggle and get frustrated with things, the dark clouds quickly form, resulting in my loud "claps" (or screeches and emotional yelling) of thunder.

@theriverissinging is like a tornado, leaving mass destruction while leaving parts untouched. It’s scary when the air stills, the sky turns green. Never sure where the tornado will touch down.

I think for many this is what anger is like .....ranging from a whirlwind with just air to a cat 5 storm that can wreck a lot of stuff.....

No one knows why on a certain day a small item can start the swirl of wind ( anger) .... i do get angry but no longer want any revenge or whatever instead i know their world has it s own issues ....

karma is real and if you are very lucky as i have been you occasionally get to see in action.

right now I’m trying to get rid of all toxicity in my life. I don’t like who I become when I interact with these people. A storm has been brewing and today I was able to put a stop to it.

@theriverissinging

It's an unpredictable storm that always constantly grows. Most of it is lifted away from the gravity that wants to hold it there. It's ready to destroy the world, and maybe something even bigger, so it distances, leaving behind the nicest, coolest, overcast climate. It's the calm where I live. Many can't really understand how it can be, and yet appear so calm... But, the honest truth, is that many remember the storm itself, and they don't feel so sure that I won't bring down the rain.

I feel like it's important to reflect on this, because I'm big mad, and that anger can be used to build something beautiful... I just don't want to hurt anyone. Not anymore. I don't want to have to lose myself to BPD like episodes. There's no way to calculate the damage.

"visualize your anger as a weather pattern. is it a fleeting storm or a lingering fog or something else? what elements contribute to its formation? how can understanding its nature help you navigate through it?"

It's either a rumbling storm or a serious dangerous thunderstorm, one that might come with tornadoes that can pull away houses. If I'm really *** off, I want to hurt and wreck ***. Otherwise I'm usually just irritated/annoyed.

I dream of having a personal smash room I can always visit...

@theriverissinging

my anger is very sporatic, it almost never happens... but whenever i feel angry, it seems like i got triggered by something in my surroundings, kind of like a passing rain shower that was unpredictable.

I'll this in a form of a poem:

~ Sweltering Lightning Strike~

You shook me too my core

Continuously knocking upon me expecting a down pour

With a silent movement I stood tall

Like a gigantic tree in the midst of a huge fall

Collecting my thoughts feeling barren but never quacking

I lie there in thought looking for my waking

Then it hit me with no anticipation

I released that dreaded feeling like it was train coming upon a station

So I took my strike in a gentle approach

Squashing the bitterness like a roach 🦋
