Group Mod Challenge- Part II
Welcome back, Mod Squad! Thank you for joining and participating in the first challenge! Congratulations and thank you to all who participated in the first challenge. I hope you all enjoyed learning about each other’s communication styles and how the room environment could change based on your communication style.
It reflects that how you communicate and interact has a huge impact on the support level and safety level of the chatroom. There is no perfect communication style but to be an effective communicator, you need to adapt and change the way you communicate based on the chatroom, environment, and situation. It is always good to develop a flexible approach to interact with the members in the chatroom to provide support and a listening ear to them. Let’s continue doing it.
And speaking of challenge, welcome to Mod Challenge- II. This challenge is focused on earning badges related to moderation and discussions.
Complete these tasks and nominate fellow moderators for the following badges, if they completed it
Discussion Badges
If you already have these badges, then you could complete the tasks again to achieve as many badges as you can. For example, if you are working towards the Mod Champion badge category, then have a look at your total group chats count and add 8 group chats to it to get’em.
This challenge will be for the next two weeks. At the end of this two-week challenge, you will receive information for the next one! And at the end of the quarter, the top 3 chat room moderators who complete all the challenges successfully and meet the criteria of the award-winning mod will be awarded the badge: Award-Winning Mod!
Note: The first challenge updates will be shared on May 01, 2021.

@ASilentObserver I think I have most badges from above. But have a question about conversationalist badge. Those who already have Oprah badge, would already have Conversationalist badge, right? But I dont see it on my profile. 🤔

" If we have the badge already, how do we get it twice ? Or what to exactly do if we have some badges already ? 😮

You wouldn't get badge again but as part of the challenge, it is required to meet its requirement. For example I have most of those badges but in order to participate fairly, I will be working to meet requirements of it for this challenge. So it be a fair challenge for all. whether new mod or old.
Second, we will be adding our progress in this thread like we did for Mod challenge part-I so we can track our progress and other fellow mods can also able to see what we working towards

@ASilentObserver when i invited my discussion leaders to apply for conversationalist, they did not see it in the list of badges they can apply for. though the other discussion badges was all there.
@ASilentObserver I don't see the apply for badge option for conversationalist either.

End of second day and beginning of third day of challenge update. Typical me slacking off on logging because I have a tendency to start doing stuff late in the night and don't trust myself to update forums afterwards LOL.

Updating logs before I forget. In a bit of shock because of what happened.

- Hosted Pop-up: Rub The Lamp (trial) in Special Events room 12:55pm-1:25am (CM Jennie was on shift)
- Responded to ER mod request form for suicidal person in room MCR 4:27pm (CM Parker was on shift)
- Backed up CM Parker in dealing with a tough situation in MCR. Ended up taking a member to my DM and Parker went on hosting an icebreaker session to help room move on from session. Refer to mod incident log for more details. 5:00-5:40pm (CM Parker was on shift)
