Hey thanks for checking out my profile, I’ve been on this site since the very start of 2019. 

I do a lot of work inside 7 cups, but also keep in mind I have lots of work outside 7 cups. I do volunteering on the side of work & study and have experience in many different settings but can’t go further into it. (Not a doctor etc and I can’t give any professional advice on here)

My involvement with 7 Cups

Group Support Mentor Leader (Retired Currently) 

I previously managed the communication and supported the implementation of community feedback relating to group support via bi-weekly community meetings and liaising directly with the admin of the group support domain. I was also tasked with recruiting new chatroom moderators and mentors, and helping them in their role as a wider responsibility of my mentor leader position.

Global Chatroom Moderator (Current)

I am a moderator in all of the group support rooms, meaning I assist to keep the rooms welcoming, safe and appropriate. I’m also part of the trauma support leadership team, and am specifically a moderator on the leadership team there as well, which I also host discussions for as well as a discussion leader. 

Group Support Mentor (Current)

I assist with the welcoming of new chatroom moderators and room supporters regardless of their chosen communities that they’re specifically supporting. 

Listener Chatroom Mentor (Returning After Long Break) 

I used to provide support to the listener support rooms as well, as mentor and moderator. Helping to keep the chats supportive and I was tasked with assisting with questions from listeners, as well as chat support and peer support. 

Adult-Teen Listener (Current)

I have been approved through an interview to support both, teen and adult members and listeners. 

Quality Mentor (Current)

I support listeners with their quality of listening by providing feedback, mock chats, and long-term mentorship. 

Doorkeeper (Current)

I have the ability to access the Chatroom Management panel where I can open and close all the 100+ listener and member chat rooms. If you’d like a room open in order to host a discussion you have scheduled please do feel free to send a message. 

Chat Supporter & Peer Supporter (Returning After Long Break)

I support the answering of chat related questions whilst listeners are actively taking part in member support chats, without breaking any confidentiality. I also help those who have been impacted negatively by a member chat. 

Safety Team Outreach Member (Current)

I reach out to users whose profiles have been flagged as violating the community guidelines, providing a chance for them to correct it before any further action is taken. 

Community Mentor Leader (Retired)

I used to manage the Newbie Hub sub-community where it was my role to onboard and support new community leaders, as well as manage discussion scheduling and supporting existing leaders too. 

Anonymous Evaluator (Retired)

I used to anonymously evaluate listeners by posing as a member (authorised) to get information on their quality of listening and then report back to admins. 

Support Team Leader (Covered within GSM position)

I previously co-led the Support Room 24/7 Coverage project which aimed to provide quality listening support to those in both teen and adult Support Room 24/7. This project was successful for a few months and then it was no longer operational, hopefully can get it back around with more support to continue it in event of leader(s) going on break. 

Academy Mentor (Retired)

I used to assist students of the Internship and Leadership Development Program with keeping track of their progress and supporting with any questions or concerns. 

If you are a member reading this, I am not available for 1-1 support chats. You will be able to find me usually in any of the member group support rooms. I am always open to questions as messages, so feel free if it’s that otherwise I will not be able to respond. *I may go online to take chats at my own discretion, if I have the green dot next to profile picture, I have chosen to accept and will take the chat*

...See more Hi everyone, here are the updates relating to the group support community meeting feedback given in our last couple of meetings. * As some of you are aware, on Thursday 19th May at around 3pm ET, I hosted a trial of a short coping technique discussion in the Member Community Room (MCR). This is a wonderful idea to build more self awareness and inclusive structured engagement within the MCR. However, whilst there was a lot of engagement in the discussion, the alternate room that was opened to allow people to continue casual chats if they didn't want to participate in the ongoing discussion was not used and many were having unrelated conversations in the room throughout the discussion. For future instances, continuous unrelated chat must be moved to the alternate room, which will be the "Member Hangout Room" at the time of short discussions. We are working on ways to make this idea work long-term and will update you all when we are ready with moving forward. * An idea raised in the community meeting was to have a separate support room dedicated to dissociative identity disorder (DID). This idea has been tried by myself in the past in the teen side but it did not work long-term. We are working towards a solution and will update again on this as more information is available. We are also currently working on getting more discussions scheduled across the group support rooms. If you are a current Room Supporter or Group Moderator interested in hosting sessions for your, or other sub-communities that you may be interested in, please message @Sher217 [http://7cups.com/@Sher217] for more details. If you are interested in helping to create scripts for discussions, please contact Sher to find out how you can help. * We hear your concerns for more moderation in the Member Community Room, Sharing Circle and Support Room 24/7 and we are looking to recruit and train Room Supporters and Group Moderators to assist. This can be found in the chat room rules located at the bottom of each chat of any room. * All suggestions regarding the technical side of the site have been forwarded to the Tech Team. ...See more Hello everyone. In our previous adult group support community meeting, there were lots of important feedback given to improve our group support rooms. I would like to share some community updates that are related to some of the feedback shared on that day. Firstly, @ASilentObserver created a post on some effective steps to deal with trolling behaviour in our rooms. As this type of behaviour is so important to address in order to handle it correctly, I’m re-sharing this with you all today in case you haven’t seen the original post yet. https://bit.ly/3KE3677 Secondly, another awesome post by @ASilentObserver below reminded us of the sharing circle guidelines and the importance of being supportive and respectful to all regardless of their gender. This was also brought up in the community meeting, so it’s important you see that we are working to improve on your feedback. https://bit.ly/3ygWTLR Thirdly, our wonderful community manager @Heather225 introduced a great way to help foster a healthier community through conflict resolution. As many times, conflict has been quickly moved on in the support rooms and sometimes this can be damaging to those involved, as they never get the chance to resolve their conflict peacefully. Honestly one of the best listeners I've had on 7cups . Genuinely empathetic and doesn't leave you with the feeling that the answer is obvious and you're deliberately overlooking something. When that happens it doesn't really feel like the person is listening, but none of that here :)
