Hey thanks for checking out my profile, I’ve been on this site since the very start of 2019. 

I do a lot of work inside 7 cups, but also keep in mind I have lots of work outside 7 cups. I do volunteering on the side of work & study and have experience in various forensic and other settings but can’t go further into it nor can I provide any professional advice. 

My involvement with 7 Cups

Group Support Mentor Leader (Retired Currently) 

I previously managed the communication and supported the implementation of community feedback relating to group support via bi-weekly community meetings and liaising directly with the admin of the group support domain. I was also tasked with recruiting new chatroom moderators and mentors, and helping them in their role as a wider responsibility of my mentor leader position.

Global Chatroom Moderator (Current)

I am a moderator in all of the group support (members & listeners) rooms, meaning I assist to keep the rooms welcoming, safe and appropriate. I’m also part of the trauma support leadership team, and am specifically a moderator on the leadership team there as well, which I also host discussions for as well as a discussion leader. 

Group Support Mentor (Current)

I assist with the welcoming of new chatroom moderators and room supporters regardless of their chosen communities that they’re specifically supporting. 

Listener Chatroom Mentor (Current)

I provide support to the listener support rooms as well, as mentor and moderator. Helping to keep the chats supportive and am tasked with assisting with questions from listeners, as well as chat support and peer support. 

Adult-Teen Listener (Current)

I have been approved through an interview to support both, teen and adult members and listeners. 

Quality Mentor (Current)

I support listeners with their quality of listening by providing feedback, mock chats, and long-term mentorship. 

Doorkeeper (Current)

I have the ability to access the Chatroom Management panel where I can open and close all the 100+ listener and member chat rooms. If you’d like a room open in order to host a discussion you have scheduled please do feel free to send a message. 

Chat Supporter (Current)

I support the answering of chat related questions whilst listeners are actively taking part in member support chats, without breaking any confidentiality. I also help those who have been impacted negatively by a member chat. 

Safety Team Outreach Member (Current)

I reach out to users whose profiles have been flagged as violating the community guidelines, providing a chance for them to correct it before any further action is taken. 

Safety Discussion Team (Current)

I host discussions around safety on the site and am also the project agent for the safety team, which means I focus too on recruiting team members, checking-in with them and being part of both discussion and outreach teams helping out. 

Community Mentor Leader (Retired)

I used to manage the Newbie Hub sub-community where it was my role to onboard and support new community leaders, as well as manage discussion scheduling and supporting existing leaders too. 

Anonymous Evaluator (Retired)

I used to anonymously evaluate listeners by posing as a member (authorised) to get information on their quality of listening and then report back to admins. 

Support Team Leader (Covered within GSM position)

I previously co-led the Support Room 24/7 Coverage project which aimed to provide quality listening support to those in both teen and adult Support Room 24/7. This project was successful for a few months and then it was no longer operational, hopefully can get it back around with more support to continue it in event of leader(s) going on break. 

Academy Mentor (Retired)

I used to assist students of the Internship and Leadership Development Program with keeping track of their progress and supporting with any questions or concerns.

We’re excited to announce the rebranded launch of the Always Here - Support Room 24/7 Project originally launched in 2021 and received positive feedback.  Background and Reasoning Unfortunately, efforts to revive the project in 2022 were not as successful as hoped. We are trying again in a rebranded way with assurance that people get a consistent and reliable experience. As it’s been a couple of years, most of the previous hosts and some leaders are no longer active so we are starting fresh but I will tag previous hosts / leaders just in case they’re willing and interested to join us again with helping out in SR! Having spent a lot of time in the group chat rooms, it’s terrible to see people being ignored due to the sheer volume of messages that sometimes occur, or being faced with complete emptiness as they enter the room.  We can help shift this issue, which by all means is no one’s fault but instead a product of various different factors.  Project Overview and Host Requirements  Members and listeners, teens and adults, can sign up to provide a half-hour or an hour per week (or more) of a listening ear for those in the Support Room 24/7. There’s no script, just natural responses and presence, supportive resources for hosts will be found within the host Sheets dashboard which will be shared within PMs after successfully applying.    On-spot hosting is available too. When you spend at least 30 minutes in SR you can be rewarded and receive recognition for your hard work through peer feedback. Just contact me (@Kieran000) to join the team if you can’t stick to fixed weekly times. Requirements: To ensure a high quality of support is provided, members must meet the following requirements: * A minimum of 200 group chats and 600 compassion hearts (Helping Hand or Wise One Badge)  Please note: 1 group chat is equivalent to 25 messages sent in a member group support room. These people are trained to reach out to individuals with fixable profile violations and/or are trained at hosting safety related group chat discussions. Reporting  Member Group Chat Review Form [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScmfpQqScgcFxOSHveQfbP52m-XNu-DBC6oK7ieTHrGQ4hJ3w/viewform] - You can use this to provide positive or constructive feedback on anyone who was present in the room. This may include moderators use of moderation tools, room supporter behaviour, or member and listeners’ general behaviour.  Submit a Request via Zendesk [https://help.7cups.com/hc/en-us/requests/new]- You can use this link to access options for Data Removal Requests, Deleting Accounts, Requesting Refunds on Therapy, Account Reinstatement, Product Bugs, Reporting Listeners, Reporting Members, Updating your Age and a few other options.  There are other kinds of report forms floating around, like the verified listener report form etc, but to streamline the reporting processes it may be best to just submit via Zendesk (preferred) or email community@7cups.com with concerns, as long as it gets seen by the community management team in a safe way I’m sure it’s fine.  7 cups does not provide information on the outcome of reports, so if you feel your report has been ignored, it most likely hasn’t, please read the behavioural points system [https://www.7cups.com/forum/safe7cups/Part3InformationResoucesUpdatesStation_1371/7CupsBehaviorReportingProcessTrackingUpdatedVersion_226446/]which has most likely been implemented for any reports you’ve made.  If in the unlikely but possible instance that there is any concern about an admin/s themselves, the point of contact is @Heather225 [http://7cups.com/@Heather225] who is our community manager.  I hope this post has provided you all with a consolidated overview on our safety structure and preferable methods of reporting.  Thank you all for reading, and for those who participated in the safety discussion earlier. ...See more Hey guys, I’m just here to introduce myself as a member of the trauma support leadership team!  I’m Kieran, an Adult-Teen Listener, I have been on the site since January 2019 and have held roles ranging all the way to mentor leader. I’m recently returning from a year long break and am currently a trauma discussion host, global chatroom moderator and group support mentor, alongside several other positions within and external to the group support domain.  I aim to host on Sunday’s at 10am EST over on the teen side, for guided chats about trauma, but also do open chats. I’ve previously been part of the leadership team at the very start of my 7 cups journey, but have returned now.  For privacy, I won’t be mentioning a lot about my personal life but I am a student! I have Complex-PTSD and various other trauma-associated disorders. I’ve experienced sexual, physical and psychological violence and abuse from people I trusted and those I never knew from early childhood to adolescence.  I’ve recovered from a large part of my trauma (or at least figured out how to live despite it!) and now majorly work off-7 Cups to prevent sexual violence, specifically CSA. I also have experience with rehabilitating offenders and working with victim-survivors. On 7 cups, I’m a volunteer and whilst unable to support within crisis situations, I hope my time dedicated to being here is super beneficial for all of you.  I enjoy mountaineering all over the place, as well as listening to music and studying confusing topics - thank you all for reading and it’s great be here with you peeps 😃❤️

...See more Hi everyone, here are the updates relating to the group support community meeting feedback given in our last couple of meetings. * As some of you are aware, on Thursday 19th May at around 3pm ET, I hosted a trial of a short coping technique discussion in the Member Community Room (MCR). This is a wonderful idea to build more self awareness and inclusive structured engagement within the MCR. However, whilst there was a lot of engagement in the discussion, the alternate room that was opened to allow people to continue casual chats if they didn't want to participate in the ongoing discussion was not used and many were having unrelated conversations in the room throughout the discussion. For future instances, continuous unrelated chat must be moved to the alternate room, which will be the "Member Hangout Room" at the time of short discussions. We are working on ways to make this idea work long-term and will update you all when we are ready with moving forward. * An idea raised in the community meeting was to have a separate support room dedicated to dissociative identity disorder (DID). This idea has been tried by myself in the past in the teen side but it did not work long-term. We are working towards a solution and will update again on this as more information is available. We are also currently working on getting more discussions scheduled across the group support rooms. If you are interested in helping to create scripts for discussions, please contact Sher to find out how you can help. * We hear your concerns for more moderation in the Member Community Room, Sharing Circle and Support Room 24/7 and we are looking to recruit and train Room Supporters and Group Moderators to assist. In the meantime, you can use the emergency mod request form to request assistance with a situation in any room. This can be found in the chat room rules located at the bottom of each chat of any room. * All suggestions regarding the technical side of the site have been forwarded to the Tech Team. We hope to have additional updates on these and will pass it along as we are updated. We appreciate you being patient during this process. ...See more Hello everyone. In our previous adult group support community meeting, there were lots of important feedback given to improve our group support rooms. I would like to share some community updates that are related to some of the feedback shared on that day. Firstly, @ASilentObserver created a post on some effective steps to deal with trolling behaviour in our rooms. As this type of behaviour is so important to address in order to handle it correctly, I’m re-sharing this with you all today in case you haven’t seen the original post yet. https://bit.ly/3KE3677 Secondly, another awesome post by @ASilentObserver below reminded us of the sharing circle guidelines and the importance of being supportive and respectful to all regardless of their gender. This was also brought up in the community meeting, so it’s important you see that we are working to improve on your feedback. https://bit.ly/3ygWTLR Thirdly, our wonderful community manager @Heather225 introduced a great way to help foster a healthier community through conflict resolution. As many times, conflict has been quickly moved on in the support rooms and sometimes this can be damaging to those involved, as they never get the chance to resolve their conflict peacefully.
