🌟 Welcome to a 14-day journey of gratitude and positivity!🌟
Each day, we’ll explore a new writing prompt designed to uplift our spirits and cultivate gratitude. Whether you’re a seasoned writer or just starting out, this challenge is for everyone!
How It Works:
- Every day for the next 14 days, check this thread for my latest prompt!
- Set aside a few minutes to reflect and write. You can keep it short or dive deep— up to you!
Let’s kick off our gratitude journey with our prompt of today below! 😊
@JujuBears knowing i don´t have to work today, getting some food from grandma, having some time for myself and making some cute appreciations
@sadcat13 I know the feeling of not having to work - such a relief sometimes! 😄 What are some hobbies or activities you enjoy doing when you have time? 😊
@JujuBears currently handling my peer appreciation team responsibilities and making some graphics, it is such a fun thing to do, and i enjoy it a lot. Also been reading a bit and playing a colouring game on my tab and a bit of league of legends with my friend
Hello can we chat up privately how are you doing
@JujuBears Nothing today so far has made me smile. And I don't like anything making me do anything either...I'd rather it happen naturally and holistically then be forced or made to do something. Some days I guess I don't smile and considering the circumstances that's not as bad as people think or feel.
Noticing the warm sunlight streaming through my window this morning, casting playful shadows, brought an unexpected smile to my face. It was a gentle reminder of the simple beauty in everyday moments.
Chatting with one of my lovely mentees. It’s awesome to hear about their experiences - well done!
@JujuBears
Singing and playing a song well today... some people appreciated it
@JujuBears
When my husband, who is at the hospital now, was feeling good enough and asked me to take him out for a walk. 🤗
@JujuBears Just getting to sit with my pets and goof off with them made so very happy. I don't get to spend much time with them, so it was quite lovely!
@JujuBears I saw a truly funny cat picture. A black cat is staring at you in horror and in front of them is a picture of a black cat made from their shed fur - with googly eyes
The small moment from today that made me smile was being able to see the movie Inside Out 2 with my mom.
@JujuBears not me but i witnessed the sweetest scene in the store when two little girls came to buy some stuff. They picked out a marker and a highlighter but at the checkout they realised they don´t have enough money to buy both so they decided to leave the highlighter. The guy after them in the line saw it and asked me if they didn´t have enough money and i said that sadly yes, that´s the case. He said he will take it then, bought it with his stuff and then handed it to the girls. They didn´t want to accept it but eventually they took it and thanked him, then they all went their separate ways. It was so heartwarming to see and it certainly restored a little faith in humanity 😊
@JujuBears Someone working at an organization for people struggling to find safe and adequate housing left a lavender plant for me at my motel. It's ridiculous in a way because I don't want a plant, I want people to care enough to actually be able to help me, but as I'm beyond help for them I need to just be grateful and humble and try respect the fact that most people don't understand what I've been through or am going through so aren't able to effectively help.
One time, a stranger at a café covered my coffee when my card got declined. That small act totally brightened my stressful morning. It reminded me there's a lot of good out there and made me want to do something kind for someone else too.
A man gave me a gardening tip and that was kind of him :)
@JujuBears I was out in a park struggling with my shoelaces and these 3 toddlers came up and began trying to help me. No questions asked, just held some of the strings in place. It was very sweet
@JujuBears watching SpongeBob just never gets old 😊 and ofc talking to my bf ❤️
@JujuBears There's nothing in my life that always brings a smile to my face. At least not today or that I can recall.
@communicativePond1728 I’m sorry to hear that. What do you think could’ve made your day better?
@JujuBears thanks for asking 🙏 I tried resting and watching some movies.
@communicativePond1728 not even dog or cat videos? 😢
@sadcat13 oh, those sometimes do...thanks for reminding me 😊😊😊
@communicativePond1728 😊
On a bad day, my brother always knows how to cheer me up. He has this incredible knack for making me laugh, no matter how down I'm feeling. Whether it's through a funny story, a shared memory, or just his goofy antics, he never fails to bring a smile to my face. We often end up playing video games or watching our favorite movies together, and his easy-going nature helps me forget my worries. His support and understanding are like a comforting anchor, reminding me that I'm never alone in facing life's challenges.
Getting into the scripture - it really helps ground me trying to connect with god. 🙏🤗🤍
@JujuBears My frog always brings a little sunshine to my day. Seeing such a carefree and admittedly stupid critter attempt to hunt food is so funny to me.
Sorry guys - something came up, but I'm posting Day 4 and 5 prompts today and 6 tomorrow :)
@JujuBears
Playing guitar, singing and writing, longboarding, thrifting and garage sailing, road trips, reading, movies, events, sports, weaving, etc.. Am adventurous yet also a home body.
Each different hobby or interest brings something different. Longboarding for example gives me a good community, quality time outdoors, and it's just fun and convenient.
Reading, another example, makes me feel good. You can go to other worlds and places, learn, just have a time...all without going anywhere. Well other than a bookshop or whatever.
And with something like weaving you can feel the satisfaction of making or repairing something with your own two hands. Handmade feels different somehow.
@JujuBears I love making art in multiple forms. It's so nice to explore and shape different concepts and ideas. I also love reading, playing games and dancing
@sadcat13 What is the most recent art you've made, and is there any special reason behind it? :)<3
I absolutely love sketching. There's something so calming about grabbing a pencil and just letting my thoughts flow onto the paper. I get lost in the details, whether I'm drawing a landscape, a portrait, or just doodling. It's like my own little escape from reality. The best part is seeing a blank page turn into something unique and personal. It makes me feel creative and accomplished, especially when a sketch turns out better than I imagined. Plus, it's a great way to express my emotions and unwind after a long day. Sketching always brings me a sense of peace and joy.
@JujuBears I love embroidering! It lets me both draw and paint and sculpt and make a cool fidget. The best feeling in the world is to run your hands over a finished piece and feel every knot and thread.
@JujuBears
I've never really had any memorable moments. They're all pretty much buried under or tainted by trauma. Maybe eating s'mores actually though, because they're just flat delicious.
@communicativePond1728 It’s understandable that memories can be complex, especially when intertwined with difficult experiences. S’mores, though, seem to stand out as a delightful exception —a simple pleasure that transcends any negativity!! The combination of gooey marshmallows, melted chocolate, and crunchy graham crackers creates a comforting treat. Yum! 🍫🍪
@JujuBears the moment I realised I feel safe and regulated for the first time and multiple times after that. Always makes me shocked how different it feels compared to my constant state of anxiety.
One of my most memorable experiences has to be the family trip we took to the mountains a few years ago. It was the first time my mom, dad, brother, and I all went on a vacation together in years. We stayed in this cozy cabin with a stunning view of the snow-covered peaks. Every morning, we had breakfast together, laughing and chatting without the usual rush of daily life.
One day, we decided to go on a hiking trail that led to a beautiful, secluded waterfall. The hike was tough, and we all struggled at points, but we encouraged each other to keep going. When we finally reached the waterfall, the view was breathtaking. We sat there for hours, talking and enjoying the peace and beauty of nature.
What made this trip so wonderful was the quality time we spent together, away from all distractions. It reminded me how much I cherish my family and how these moments of togetherness are priceless. I'm grateful for that experience because it brought us closer and created memories that I'll hold onto forever.
@JujuBears you're ok, everything's ok.
@communicativePond1728 you are okay, and everything is okay and will be okay <3
Gratitude feels like a warm, cozy blanket wrapping around you on a chilly day. It's like a burst of sunshine breaking through clouds, filling you with a deep sense of contentment and peace. It's that heartwarming glow that makes everything feel just right.
@JujuBears
Becoming grateful is going from some kind of sparking, spiky, volatile creature into a glowing, munificent, floating abstract of genuine, authentic, engaging positivity and happiness.
I turn inside out and focus; a camera zooming in and out to bring everything, everyone, everywhere into a singing, beautiful clarity. Thinking critically replaces critical thoughts.
It's a one person social movement. I stop shooting people, places and things (Including myself.) with the gun of negative thought and ammo of judgement. Isolation ceases.
I'm soft yet strong and beautiful. A black hole giving more then it takes. Patient, loving, gentle. War dissolves into conscious, affirmative action. I go from no one to know one.
@JujuBears oh i love this thread so much, it is so much fun. Cats, obviously. A tiny creature with little triangle ears thinking it owns you, knocking stuff off the table but being scared of a cucumber? Absolutely precious 😊
@JujuBears I am so grateful for butterflies. The way that they fly, their beautiful patterns and colors and of course their metamorphosis. It reminds me that in this hard time that I’m having, I have to remember that the world is not over. I’m just in my metamorphosis. I need to give myself time. Every time I see one it reminds me and I get a little bit boost that keeps me going.
@Butterfliesandmanatees72 I love the way you captured the essence of butterflies beautifully - their metamorphosis serves as a powerful reminder! Just like butterflies, we too undergo transformations in our lives. Its good to recognize that we're not at the end, but simply in the midst of our own metamorphosis! 🌞
I’m grateful for many things, but one that stands out is cats and dogs. These furry friends bring so much joy and unconditional love into my life. Whether it’s a cat’s soft purr as it curls up on my lap or a dog’s enthusiastic greeting when I walk through the door, they never fail to lift my spirits.
Their playful antics, like chasing a toy or rolling over for belly rubs, provide endless entertainment and laughter. When I'm feeling down, their comforting presence and affectionate cuddles are incredibly soothing. The way they sense my moods and offer their companionship reminds me that I'm never alone.
Cats and dogs teach me about loyalty, love, and the simple joy of living in the moment. Their companionship is a constant source of happiness and gratitude, making life richer and more fulfilling.
@JujuBears
What's all around us but can't be seen?
Yes, air! It's true; it's not exactly Gucci,
but with which one do we still breathe?
Some things we feel we need...but really?
Without air we're never at home,
Always gasping and groping for more.
A new car sure is fast and easy!
But how much do you miss while speeding?
Perfect relationships; appealing...
Lots of mindless sex; intriguing...
Money piled to the sky seems the way...
Until all air is taken away.
We may need more ships in space to know
How beautiful is earth's biodome.
But without a bit of love and grace,
We lose our air, it's vital embrace.
Day 8: I am grateful for the existence of glitter. Such a simple thing as sparkly dust has brought me so much joy and distraction. We've been making potions at my house lately. It's an inexpensive craft activity and the array of things you can do is so expansive. you can mix colors, and glitter, and decorate the bottle and the finished product is a stemming paradise. doing this with my partner has been such an enjoyable use of time and swishing these bottles around has been so calming. all in all, i'm grateful for art as therapy, glitter for calming and vitalizing, DIY videos and people to do them with 💗
