@akunknown Apologies for the delay here but I was finally able to dig it up! It was really nice to go back to 2017 and also read some initial reflections I penned after being accepted into my undergraduate program! I appreciate you being curious:
The word psyche means two things in Greek, his aunt said. Two very different but interesting things. Butterfly and soul. But when you stop and think about it carefully, butterfly and soul aren’t so different, after all, are they? A butterfly starts out as a caterpillar, an ugly sort of earthbound, wormy nothing, and then one day the caterpillar builds a cocoon, and after a certain amount of time the cocoon opens and out comes the butterfly, the most beautiful creature in the world. That’s what happens to souls as well, Archie. They struggle in the depths of darkness and ignorance, they suffer through trials and misfortunes, and bit by bit they become purified by those sufferings, strengthened by the hard things that happen to them, and one day, if the soul in question is a worthy soul, it will break out of its cocoon and soar through the air like a magnificent butterfly.

@SoulfullyAButterfly I joined today out of desperation I guess.
Lost my husband when we were both 33 ..to cancer. Then I lost my momma. Last year before Christmas my house burned down and I lost everything I loved. Now anxiety runs my life. Im always afraid now.. always afraid my new house will start on fire or something bad will happen and I cant afford therapy.

@SoulfullyAButterfly Hello! I keep forgetting my username on here, haha. I'm honestHuman9764. Just diagnosed ADHD inattentive and generalized anxiety last year, but it explains so much of my life even from childhood. I'm a parent of 2 littles, one of whom also has ADHD. I suspect he is autistic as well (lower support needs). Started therapy (outside this platform) for the first time in my life this year. My main challenges relate to executive functioning (planning, prioritizing, getting stuff done, procrastination, time management), distractibility, emotional regulation, rejection sensitivity dysphoria, negative self-talk, and shame. I'm working on developing self-compassion and reframing the negative thoughts I have about myself.
@honestHuman9764 Hi Human, thanks for introducing yourself and sharing this. I am so glad your diagnosis has helped validate your experiences and that you've started getting the support you deserve. It must be hard managing those challenges and supporting your littles but we believe in you! 7 Cups is a great community which can hopefully help you learn more about and find support for all these challenges

I am wandamx26. I came here to work on my anxiety because I have been experiencing a lot of that recently. Things have been tough for me lately, I quit my last job looking for a new one but still have no luck.
I am 16, I am Mexican but speak zero Spanish. I also like to practice Judaism in my free time and abide by all Jewish laws,including but not limited to: not eating swine, and not mixing meat and dairy. When I was 14 I read whole the Torah.
