The Richness of Love and Support: Member Appreciation Week

Hello community ❤️

This week is member appreciation week. We’ve set up this event especially for each of you. You make 7 Cups the special place it is, so we’re taking this week to honour your experiences, your empathy, your compassion, your support, and your honesty. 7 Cups is for you, and we want to take this opportunity to touch on a very special topic: love ❤️

Love can be a confusing thing to talk about, because of how abstract it can be. Perhaps you’ve wondered: how is it supposed to feel? Is it when you do something for other people? Is it something you chase?

So let’s break it down a little. Let’s start with you. If you’re not ready to open your heart to other people, then self-love is a good place to start learning about what love means to you.

Self-love means something different to each person. This means that love isn’t just a feeling. Love is a choice too. We might not be able to fully control our emotions, but we can certainly control the actions and routines we choose to have in our lives. No matter where you are right now, you can love yourself by choosing to do the things you know are good for you.

For you, maybe that looks like going for therapy. Maybe that looks like taking a break, or cutting out a negative influence in your life, or setting some healthy boundaries. Maybe it looks like ice cream and pizza for dinner (or breakfast, if I’m being honest with myself). Maybe it means taking a walk or reading a book or staying off the news and social media for a day or two.

You are the one who knows you best. Perhaps your heart is already whispering to you about some things you try. No matter what, I want you to know that this community is here for you ❤️ We’ll walk through this together, okay?

I like to watch movies or set out on the patio during a rainy day

I treat myself by doing fun things or shopping lol...

A little exhausted, so I decided to take the day off work to rest. But overall, my mood's pretty good!

2. What are some of your favourite things to do on a rainy day?

Lay in bed and listen to the sound of the rain drops hit my window; it always manages to calm me down and helps me nap, if need be. If I don't doze off, I'll be chilling in my room with a little Netflix and a nice, warm, hot cocoa👌🏽

3. What is one thing you want to treat yourself to today?

Chocolate, since I'm on my period and my cravings are going crazy🤣

2. On a rainy day, it's best to do some baking. Warms up the house and smells yummy.

I’m in between…at times in tears, at times settled.

2. What are some of your favourite things to do on a rainy day?

Lay in bed and listen to the rain, or sit by a window and watch it rain with Chloe the cat.

I want ice cream, but I won’t have it. lol

I am processing a lot and trying to understand myself better and make healthier choices as my day unfolds. I like to watch movies or shows. Do art projects. Dance in the rain or just simply be and relax while listening/watching the rain. A nice relaxing shower. Not rushed and super relaxing.

I am doing good. A bit stressed but I am fine. I hope you are good too.

2. What are some of your favourite things to do on a rainy day?

​​​​​​Hmm. Just taking my bike and riding just after the rain has ended to feel the cool wind and maybe eat something hot on the road. I love that trees are a bit more fresh and lively.

Maybe a good thought.
