**AND ANY & ALL "NEWBIES" THAT WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH US
🎃This past week has had its share of ups & downs.... I started off last weekend as a highlight on Saturday by getting out & enjoying another favorite annual Fall festival... It was beautiful & amazing weather, and had a nice time enjoying the different vendors & got in lots of Steps... Later on in the evening, we got out to a Local Haunted Tour~ Which was pretty interesting, and we had a good time. And did LOTS of walking during the tour... By the days end I had logged in over 20,000+ steps for the day~ ....On Sunday, I got in a good home-workout, then we got some errands done, then chilled for the evening with some good dinner & good movies before starting the week.....
🍁As I started the week off, I did my best to try to stay on track with my classes, workouts, meals, sleep, hydration & goals for myself....For the most part, I accomplished those tasks.... Although on Monday things took a turn for me on a personal level with lots of emotional & family situations.... So I had found it to definitely be a challenging week mentally.... Which as we all know can tend to affect other aspects of our overall well-being.... At this point, I'm just trying to continue to move forward, stay hold of my Faith, lots of meditation & prayer, as well as continuing to do my best to adhere to the goals I have for myself.... (Although, it wasn't easy in some moments, and I found myself wavering)...... My focus did get derailed a bit, and its been challenging to concentrate on the better things. But, when we do that, we let the negative win.
🎃This weekend was supposed to have gone in a different & better direction, however... intentions at this time are to get up & get my Saturday morning Zumba class in to keep moving forward & stay on track.... We were supposed to be celebrating a family event, and even though intentions are to still do that in some way, the event will now be a little different, & a little smaller.~ So Saturday will consist of preparing for that event, then getting out for a bit afterwards to enjoy the beautiful weather for a bit, as well as get a nice dinner out. On Sunday, a small family celebration gathering is intended throughout the course of the day.... And I will totally be off-track for the weekend ahead, but I'm totally fine with that as I've been doing so well and achieving my personal goals.... So I will get back on track with everything come Monday as we start the week, and finishing up the Month.~
@PoliteOcean this is such a wholesome post, it makes me so happy 😊
🎃 Overall, How do you feel the past month went for you?... What goals or tasks do you feel that you've either accomplished for yourself, or simply did well with as this month comes to a close?!
I focused on my health a lot this month, despite initially having other plans. This month ended being a healthtober thanks to the COVID I carried in from September. I spent the month taking care of my health problems in both mental and physical rows, even visited my doctor for a medical checkup post COVID, reported my health state and asked my questions I had. I visited my therapist to put my OCD in line and also went to a physiotherapist to get my back to behave. I will continue in November, getting my wisdom tooth removed on 4th if I'm not sick. I wish my month was a creative one after the intelligence focused September, but taking some time to address my health is the most important thing right now
🎃 WHAT do you feel is your biggest motivator right now in staying/keeping on track, Or accomplishing your goals/tasks that you've set for yourself?... In what or where are you finding your biggest motivation or encouragement to keep going?!
I'm always encouraging myself to just take it one step at the time, and that these tiny steps will all add up to form the bigger picture later.
👻JUST FOR FUN:.. Halloween is less than a week away~... What Spooky Movie, Story, or Tale, do you recall that gave you a good scare or fright as a child?
I watched rec 2 once. Never have I ever sprinted up the stairs like I did after that for a while
🌛What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?.... How were you able to work through your challenges?!
Struggles: health issues from tonsil stones and waking up choking on my own saliva this night to covid and severe ocd flare up
Highlights: cleaning my room, cooking good food, going for a walk, playing a great Halloween event in a game, making our Halloween display at work that was very beloved by both our colleagues, social media manager and the customers, focusing on recovery, thinking about Christmas already (working at a mall does that to us all lol)
@sadcat13
Hey there~ I'm glad that you enjoy this post and that it makes you happy! That in itself makes me happy as well to hear that!
I think its very wonderful that you focused on your health alot this month especially after having a health setback in September! Good for you! And I love the label of "HealthTober"! That's awesome! Amazing work on taking care of yourself, and giving yourself what you feel you needed by taking the month to work on your mental & physical wellbeing. As well as visiting your doctor for a post-checkup.... And As well as visiting with your therapist & your physiotherapist! And I think its even more amazing that you are continuing on with your Healthfest into November by getting your teeth worked on too. And I agree, that ALL of these things are certainly VERY important! Great job to you on focusing on your overall wellbeing. Continue to keep up the great work that you have done and continuing to do!
That is really incredible that you are always the one to encourage your own self! We should certainly be our own biggest and best "cheerleaders" and "motivators"! This is a great response!.... And again, I agree that we just have to remind ourselves to take things step by step, (one day at a time). And just keep going. Smaller steps always add up to bigger ones over time! Again, keep up the great work that you are doing!
Despite your various struggles, I see you certainly have ALOT of many great highlights for yourself. Getting your room cleaned is a good one. Because its been proven that when our personal surrounding are cleaner (and clutter free), that it helps to improve our overall wellbeing..... Along with cooking good food, walking, the Halloween event, making displays, focusing on your health & recovery, I think these are all Wonderful highlights!.. And certainly thinking about the Christmas holiday ahead. I used to work in a Mall as well many years ago. I absolutely loved working there during the holiday season with all the shoppers, the Holiday music, and holiday decorations! It surely puts you in the Holiday spirit!
Despite you working on your health recovery, I think you are doing such a great job for yourself. And this sounds like a wonderful check-in as your are working on getting back to being 100%! And with all that you are doing, and the time that you are putting in on that, without a doubt, that will surely happen!
Thank you so much for stopping by to check-in and share with us! It was great to hear from you. And we hope that you check back to continue to keep us up to date on how you are doing!
@PoliteOcean thank you for your encouraging reply, it made me feel so supported 😊 hope you are having a lovely month too 😊
@PoliteOcean I don't think James is coming back here. I haven't asked Leslie about it because her answers are frequently unreliable. James admitted before he went to the hospital he doesn't belong here. Anyways going back a week ago on Saturday I took a shower. It's an ordeal. Tuesday I spoke with my health insurance company for 45 minutes. Tuesday I tried to do some errands but it didn't work out very well. Wednesday I went to a well known local church and spoke with one of the elders. It went well. Now that James is gone I have an excess supply of aerosol. I didn't get anywhere with studying my vocabulary words. Friday I went to the library and got a few important print outs from my email. I only went for one walk this past week. I made an appointment for a blood test for this Wednesday. It was an ordeal. Why does everything have to be so difficult these days ? People are getting stupider and stupider. My birthday is November 2nd and then on November 5th I have a doctor's appointment.
@Regmo
Hey Regmo~... Hopefully James is now in a better place that will serve him & his personal situation much better... Thats good for you that you ended your week last Saturday with a shower...Between getting your personal areas dusted and getting in the the shower, it sounds like you have been continuing to be productive in your personal habits... Despite your errands not working out well for you on Tuesday, it was good that you were able to get out on Wednesday to the church and that you feel things went well with that. It's also good that you were also able to end your week by getting out to the library to get personal matters taken care of. And its nice that even though it was only one walk, that you were still able to manage to get that in for yourself and stay active in some way. Hopefully you will find that things work out regarding your upcoming testing and appointment. So keep us updated on things. And thanks for checking in to share your week with us.
Hey All~ Welcome to the Weekend~.... How did your week go for you?
My week went pretty much the same as last week.....routine being off messing me up a bit....its not like there are any major things making it off....its the little things here and there that pop up.........an example would be getting stuck at work for 20 or 30 min after my shift(which happens more than I would like it to, but being a supervisor it is what it is).....this really has an impact on my "workout window", meaning I need to change my workout, which throws my whole plan for the week off....with that said, I am trying my best to remain positive and maybe try to come up with a way to get past when my "daily routine" is burnt toast.....
🍁This is our "4th & Final" Check-in for OCTOBER~... Overall, How do you feel the past month went for you?... What goals or tasks do you feel that you've either accomplished for yourself, or simply did well with as this month comes to a close?!
Other than my routine being "off" for most of the month, I feel like it has gone pretty well otherwise....the "off routine" is really something I created in my head that bothers me...its not like the "things" making it off are all that bad, just things that come up in life that need to be dealt with.....On the positive end, something I did well this month....I am moving right along on my CPT class, I am ahead of the schedule I set for myself for finishing....the class itself is getting harder.....while I have passed every knowledge check and quiz, I'm only scoring 75 or 80% on them, which in my mind is unacceptable....I know its passing but still....I can't settle for that....on the other hand, I was once told by someone that a Doctor who passes with a score of 70% has still earned the title "Doctor" soooooo.....something to keep in the back of my mind.....
🎃Let's reflect for a moment... As this month will soon come to a close, we will only have Two more months left before the year ends... WHAT do you feel is your biggest motivator right now in staying/keeping on track, Or accomplishing your goals/tasks that you've set for yourself?... In what or where are you finding your biggest motivation or encouragement to keep going?!
My biggest motivator right now in all areas of my life is looking forward to my retirement....On Nov 1st I'll have 29ish months.....or 876 days to get my full retirement benefits.....I think the days count down sounds better lol.....
I hope everyone has a great week.....
@CyclingThroughLife
Hey there Cycling!~
Sorry to hear that your routines got off-track for you a bit... I can see where your dilemma lies after a long work day, or getting stuck in traffic etc... I live near one of the biggest cities in the US and it only continues to grow. And that traffic after a long work shift can certainly put a monkey-wrench in things. I understand as well when you are only left with a "certain window" of time that it makes it even more challenging. I know that you enjoy "Cycling" the most.... I try to do a little inventory of my top "back-up" workouts that I enjoy when I'm crunched for time during situations like this. And already have it in my mind that If I can't do something "particular" on a certain day, that I will resort to that next "smaller" option. That way I'm not overly disappointed, and can still feel accomplished. But perhaps you HAVE already done that yourself as well?! I hope that you can find something for yourself that will workout for you on those busier days going forwards.
I think despite things being "off" for you for the past month with your routines, that you feel "overall" that it went well for you otherwise! And its good that you can take a step back and look at the bigger picture of the things that might be causing your routines to be off. And be proactive where needed going forward.
That is so great for you that you are continuing to come along with your CPT class!... Its so exciting for you that you are ahead of schedule for yourself despite you feeling that the class itself is getting harder. Passing every check & quiz is amazing in itself despite how (unacceptable) that you feel your scoring is. I would also take into account the amount of questions being asked in those quizzes Vs. the scoring percentage. If that makes sense. As only missing lets say 3-5 questions out of lets say 100 questions is amazing....(if you look at it in those terms that is). But yes, keep all those little things in the back of your mind as to not allow yourself to get derailed in your thoughts about the scoring process.... And keep going. It sounds to me like you've got this! And its something that you "want" which means you CAN do it and have it! Because you are working & striving for it!
Ahhh.. yes, retirement! Definitely something to look forwards to for yourself. The countdown is on! And you will have all the time in the world to do all these things you have worked your life for. And that you are dreaming of!
Enjoy your week ahead as well! And thank you for checking in to share with us. And please keep us updated on everything!
@PoliteOcean
🌻Hey All~ Welcome to the Weekend~.... How did your week go for you?
My week went well. I kind of messed up my routine but i'm getting back at it.
🍁This is our "4th & Final" Check-in for OCTOBER~... Overall, How do you feel the past month went for you?... What goals or tasks do you feel that you've either accomplished for yourself, or simply did well with as this month comes to a close?!
This month overall went very well for me, which I am glad for. I managed to complete most things in my schedule, and also meet my goals.
My biggest motivator right now is that I will be able to meet the goals I wanted for the year, and then focus on new ones for the next year.
@KatePersephone
Hey there Kate~ Despite feeling that you got "messed up" in your routine, Thats great that your week went well for you overall. We will have a few set-backs at times in our routines & thats okay... (I know that I certainly did over the course of the week after going so strongly for so long), but.... the important thing is that you said you are "getting back at it"! And that you also managed to complete most of the things in your schedule as well as meet your goals!!...So good for you! Sounds like a job well done! Keep up the great work.
Thats awesome that your motivator (like mine as well!), is being able to meet your goals for the year! Great job to you on that. I think its so amazing when we can accomplish what we set out to do for the year, and then put ourselves in the position that we can now focus on new ones for the year ahead! Amazing work.
Thank you for checking in this week to share with us! Sounds like a wonderful check-in for you. Please continue to keep us updated on how things are proceeding!
🌻Hey All~ Welcome to the Weekend~.... How did your week go for you?
Not doing well at all. The "ovary donor" got physical with me yesterday by screaming and grabbing my arms. Before she could hit me, I shoved her off of me. We're currently not talking after that. She has been harassing my autistic son and myself since we came to live in her house and complains about EVERYTHING with passive-aggression, but occasionally gets violent. I'll have no where else to go if I call the cops, so I will AFTER I move out towards the end of November and put in a report. Because this women works around CHILDREN as well, and who knows what she does to them...She used to hit me all the time as a kid and berate me among other inappropriate things.
🍁This is our "4th & Final" Check-in for OCTOBER~... Overall, How do you feel the past month went for you?... What goals or tasks do you feel that you've either accomplished for yourself, or simply did well with as this month comes to a close?!
I got a remote job that pays weekly starting in the beginning of November! My goal is to move out of this house by the end of this month and save my money EXTREMELY well. The state I am moving too has housing that is only 27-33% of my income based on what type of houses I'm seeking and bedrooms/baths. I could go lower if I wanted to, but it's already extremely affordable. I will ALSO get a raise at the end of the contract, so that's pretty awesome!
My biggest motivator right now is the mental & physical health of both son and myself. This household is NOT a safe space, and I will do EVERYTHING in my power to keep my son safe until we move to somewhere better.
👻JUST FOR FUN:.. Halloween is less than a week away~... What Spooky Movie, Story, or Tale, do you recall that gave you a good scare or fright as a child?
Hmm...I'm sorry, I can't think of one right now...Pretty much my life is a spooky story haha.
🌛What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?.... How were you able to work through your challenges?!
Struggles: Dealing with physical and verbal abuse from the ovary donor, no support from my sperm donor. I don't really feel like they are my mother nor father for YEARS now, no longer have a good relationship with my siblings either, dealing with housing and finances
Highlights: I have a new (remote) job which will allow me to relocate ANYWHERE within the country (minus one state, but hey, that's OK!), I found affordable housing and a car I've been eyeing as well, I can pay off most of my debt, and I might be able to see my long distance partner soon once I move! Just have to get him to move as well. :)
🌻What is something that "YOU" want to Talk about, Add or Share with us this week?!... WE want to hear from YOU~
@ImpudentIncognito
Hey there~
We are sorry to hear that you have been having what appears to be such an extreme & volitile situation at this time. Certainly there’s a dilemma if you feel that you have no other place to go. Not sure if there are any shelters where you are? If that could be an option for you & your son as it might be a safer choice? Definitely do what you can to avoid that person as much as you can and stay out of their way until you are able to make your move which hopefully will be sooner rather than later! And I agree if you feel someone is possibly unsafe in her care, that it should in fact be reported to the proper authorities.
I think it’s awesome that your new job is quickly approaching for you and even better that it will be paying you weekly. That should surely help your current plight of being able to relocate with your son into a better & safer environment. And one that will definitely be more conducive to your overall health & wellbeing.
While it does seem you’ve had your share of personal struggles, it’s wonderful for you that you are able to see beyond them & into the “Highlights” that lie ahead for you! (A new job, relocation, affordable housing, a vehicle, & paying off debts)! Those are all amazing things to look forward to for you as well as your son! And definitely sound like some great motivators as well to keep going! So continue to keep up the great work that you are doing!
And Im sure that once this new job position is finalized for you that everything you are dreaming of and waiting for will all continue to come together & fall in line for you where you need it to be.
You are doing great. Please continue to keep us updated on the new job and how things are coming along. And thank you for checking in to share with us again this week!
@PoliteOcean Thank you for your kind words! I've been still shopping around for houses -- in case the ones that I really like get taken by the end of November haha. I'm excited to move, and even MORE excited my son will have his own room, go back to daycare/PreK, will have his Speech Therapy set up, etc. My son will be in a safer environment and we will be able to go out more to the park and such. I found a house RIGHT next to the park, which is awesome! I love that so much. I'm just excited to leave lol.
@PoliteOcean
Hi, Ocean,
I'm so sorry that you were challenged by events. I'm glad that you kept up your prayers, as God hears them all and loves you.
Hey All~ Welcome to the Weekend~.... How did your week go for you? It's been rough. I had a big project due on the 30th and I worked my butt off. It still wasn't a very good paper. The school has an editing staff that goes over our papers to make them better. The editor basically told me that large sections of my paper were not written well at all. I knew it. I didn't have the time to put that much work into it. So today I ended up calling off. I worked on my paper and turned it in then rested a lot. Ugh.
🍁This is our "4th & Final" Check-in for OCTOBER~... Overall, How do you feel the past month went for you?... What goals or tasks do you feel that you've either accomplished for yourself, or simply did well with as this month comes to a close?! I've been giving my cat a lot more attention and am trying to be sure she feels my love.
School is hard but I really want to finish and keep going. I really want to move to my dream area and work in my dream job.
👻JUST FOR FUN:.. Halloween is less than a week away~... What Spooky Movie, Story, or Tale, do you recall that gave you a good scare or fright as a child? I was very afraid of spooky things when I was a child. I avoided them.
🌛What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?.... How were you able to work through your challenges?! I just pushhed through. Pray for me that I don't get fired for taking the day off.
@purpleTree4652
Hey there Tree~
Thank you for the kind words of support! They are much appreciated. ❤️
Sorry to hear that your week was a rough one.. and that things didn’t initially go well with your assignment … but it appears that you figured out what you needed to do for yourself to get it corrected, and then rested after. Which sounds like you did what was best for your needs. So good for you!
That’s great that you’ve also been spending more time with your cat. Pets do need to feel our love as it’s so good for us to feel theirs as well. It’s certainly calming & good for our souls. Furbabies are the best. 🐾❤️
I agree in that school can be hard. I remember back when I was in school for nursing. While also working nightshift, & school during the day time, while also raising my young son at the time…. It can be a very emotionally charged process! Especially when you have so many dreams that you are aspiring for. But those dreams & goals are what will keep you afloat (as well as much prayer), on those difficult days! But you can do it!
Continued prayers for you on your journey Tree. We are always here to support you!
And thank you for checking in to share your week & keep us updated. Please continue to let us know how things are going for you.
Hi Polite Ocean 👋🏾
This month was foggy. I was very focused on my self care and leaning into the relationship things, so pretty intense and lots of layers to address. All in all it was productive and gives me hope for the upcoming rest of the year + new year ahead 🌹
Thanks for the thread 🌹 🙂 ❤️
