❤️ Creating Happiness ❤️
Hello Incredibly, Amazing Community!
Welcome to our Day 17 of the Self-Esteem Challenge. (The masterpost for the event is given here) …….
Happiness can be considered as a highly personal and subjective thing as it can differ according to the individual's experience, expectations, and needs in life. Many of us think of happiness as a feeling that evolves in two cases
1) As a response to opportunities, experiences, and appreciation from outside of ourselves. This mindset can be troublesome when one faces criticism, rejection, or when circumstances are beyond one's control leading to the feeling of helplessness or desperation.
2) When we have expectations (for ourselves or others) to be in a certain way or to obtain certain things. The issue of this mindset may involve disappointment, lack of motivation, or cluelessness when the expectations are not met.
In positive psychology, happiness is defined as a state of mind when an individual experiences satisfaction and contentment in general for a longer period of time. It is natural to experience negative emotions, even if an individual is happy in general, but the happiness mindset can help the individual in considering negative emotion as a tool to fix what is inappropriate by focusing on "what can be done and how can the situation improve". Since happiness is very personal and can differ for everyone, it is important to realize that finding out the right ingredients for what makes us satisfied and content is truly upon us. No one else can have the perfect list of ingredients for us, and happiness is a mindset which needs to be created from within ourselves. So, it is our responsibility to learn what works best for us and create our happiness.
Here are some of the activities which can help us create our own happiness: Appreciating ourselves- self-appreciation doesn't only form the basis of our lives but it is a stepping stone towards a better and loving world; Embracing every hurdle as a challenge - Take every hurdle as a challenge in helping you be the better version of you; Be content with the little things in life- Learn to appreciate the little things in life for they may be the big things in life for you in years to come; Surround yourself with the right kind of energy- The right kind of energy equals a peaceful mind and a heart filled with love; Doing what makes you happy- Follow your heart and above all enjoy yourself to the max!; Learning to prioritize yourself above everything else - Give yourself a chance to shine, heed to your needs, and try to fulfill them; Try new things- It could be a new hobby, sport or even new friends as long as you are happy at the end of the day!
Here are some questions to ponder!
1) What are the reasons for happiness?
2) Can happiness be measured?
3) Should someone elses happiness affect our happiness?
Icebreaker:- Create your own happiness by doing at least 1 thing today which you enjoy and makes you feel happy and tell us what you did. <3

1) What are the reasons for happiness?
There are three main things that make people happy: close relationships, a job or past-time that they love and helping others. And more importantly their attitude towards these
2) Can happiness be measured?
happiness is subjective, not sure it can be measured but it can be felt and cherished for sure
3) Should someone elses happiness affect our happiness?
Happiness is a personal feeling though much impacted by things around us
Icebreaker:- Create your own happiness by doing at least 1 thing today which you enjoy and makes you feel happy and tell us what you did. <3

1) What are the reasons for happiness?
I think the way we view things (after all of our needs are met of course, including mental health) is the biggest reason for happiness.
2) Can happiness be measured?
I think it can be measured within a population, but not on an individual basis. I think it's too relative to accurately measure in each individual person. I'm not totally sure though! I don't know enough about it.
3) Should someone elses happiness affect our happiness?
I think that it's good if it does to a degree. When others are happy, it can often be infectious. When others are unhappy, I would consider it good to affect us enough in a way that we care to make them feel better. I think in general it does a lot to bring people together socially and create good support systems.

Today I played games with my friends and talked about some of my hobbies. I also planned a visit with a few friends for the weekend.

1) What are the reasons for happiness?
They're making us how we see the world. No reasons for being happy, we're entitled for it eversince born. I mean, don't let the happiness force you to seek for it and end up being more misery. As written in the post, happiness are subjective but many times we're complied for the standard to attain happiness.
2) Can happiness be measured?
no it can't. it's subjective after all. but i can be measured by doing self-filled assesment.
3) Should someone elses happiness affect our happiness?
sometimes we can't help but others intervened it, but we shouldn't let ourself in downhill.
@KristinHelps
1) What are the reasons for happiness?: A variety of reasons I guess, but I believe happiness is a choice
2) Can happiness be measured?: Definitely not
3) Should someone elses happiness affect our happiness?: No, it really shouldn't. It's up to us to make ourselves happy and not let others affect us.
Icebreaker:- Create your own happiness by doing at least 1 thing today which you enjoy and makes you feel happy and tell us what you did. <3: Yesterday was my grandpa's 90th birthday. I made him happy by having our immediate family and giving a sweet card, a birthday cake and a wonderful dinner. Not to mention having another family dinner to celebrate my grandparents' wedding anniversary next week (They are married for 63 years).
@KristinHelps
What are the reasons for happiness?
Well, I think it's our perspective, how we see things ,that matters and plays an important role in staying happy
Can happiness be measured?
Well, haha, happiness is a non-physical quantity and cannot be measured by any mean or media.
Should someone elses happiness affect our happiness?
Well, I'm not sure. Making others happy always makes myself happy. Also I'm someone who absorbs others emotion a little quick, even though I think our happiness shouldn't be in someone else hand
1) What are the reasons for happiness?
Contentment. It's when you sit down and breathe and know whether or not the next will be, this moment is okay and you like it and that's okay enough. It's when you're in the middle of an activity and realize you wish you could stop time and just keep doing it, seeing what you're seeing, hearing what you're hearing.
2) Can happiness be measured?
Not really, but I believe at certain points in our lives we can look back and see with clarity moments and periods where we felt our best and subjectively tell if we were happy or not.
3) Should someone elses happiness affect our happiness?
I mean, 'should' it affect us, I hope it always does positively. Like seeing someone smiling makes you want to smile too, instead of envying them for whatever that's making them smile. But instead of 'should', I'd say 'could'. Yes, someone else's happiness could affect us. It could contain us. They could intentionally or unintentionally share some of it with us just by their face looking the way it does when they're experiencing it, or by the way their voice rings, or their body language changes.
Icebreaker: I'm keeping on with my newly-established skin care routine and I feel great about that. Skin care is a form of self-care ❤️

1) What are the reasons for happiness?
Health, good family and friends, success, nice weather, good food, hobby...
2) Can happiness be measured?
Possibly? But it will always remain subjective. There might be different topics to measure happiness, but it would be very hard to compare.
3) Should someone elses happiness affect our happiness?
Well when someone is being happy, I can be happy with or for them. I can also feel personally attacked by their happiness and feel even worse. So I think happiness of someone else should only affect us positively.
Icebreaker:- Create your own happiness by doing at least 1 thing today which you enjoy and makes you feel happy and tell us what you did. <3
Today I will do what makes me happy - I will do some of my chores, read some, puzzle a bit and will swim in a lake - and I'll also have a burger with sweet fries for lunch - homemade :)
1.) To be happy is happiness if that makes sense.
2.) I am not too sure tbh.
3.) If someone is happy it should make you happy/happy for them etc... that is what I do at least.
Icebreaker- I listened to music etc...
1) What are the reasons for happiness?
People who are happy tend to be more productive, healthy, and creative. Happiness is not only a common desire but also apractical benefit.
2) Can happiness be measured?
Happiness can't be objectively measured, but we can try to track it for ourselves. For instance, we can use a mood journal.
3) Should someone elses happiness affect our happiness?
It's not ideal when others affect our happiness because then negative moods can rub off on us. However, we are social creatures and are sensitive to those around us. This sensitivity helps us interact with others better and is both natural and practical.

Today I wrote a letter to a pen pal, and I am excited to mail it later today. I love old-fashioned mail!
@JaimieF
Happiness is one's natural nature you don't need anything or a reason to be happy 😊
1) What are the reasons for happiness?
Acceptance, peace and my loved ones are the reasons for happiness.
2) Can happiness be measured?
No but it can be associated with other senses like touch or smell.
3) Should someone elses happiness affect our happiness?
It can, especially if the ones we care for are either happy or sad. It definitely affects us sometimes in a good way. So I guess it should.
I made something new for dinner for the first time and it turned out to be really good and tasty, so that definitely made me happy!
