❤️ Creating Happiness ❤️
Hello Incredibly, Amazing Community!
Welcome to our Day 17 of the Self-Esteem Challenge. (The masterpost for the event is given here) …….
Happiness can be considered as a highly personal and subjective thing as it can differ according to the individual's experience, expectations, and needs in life. Many of us think of happiness as a feeling that evolves in two cases
1) As a response to opportunities, experiences, and appreciation from outside of ourselves. This mindset can be troublesome when one faces criticism, rejection, or when circumstances are beyond one's control leading to the feeling of helplessness or desperation.
2) When we have expectations (for ourselves or others) to be in a certain way or to obtain certain things. The issue of this mindset may involve disappointment, lack of motivation, or cluelessness when the expectations are not met.
In positive psychology, happiness is defined as a state of mind when an individual experiences satisfaction and contentment in general for a longer period of time. It is natural to experience negative emotions, even if an individual is happy in general, but the happiness mindset can help the individual in considering negative emotion as a tool to fix what is inappropriate by focusing on "what can be done and how can the situation improve". Since happiness is very personal and can differ for everyone, it is important to realize that finding out the right ingredients for what makes us satisfied and content is truly upon us. No one else can have the perfect list of ingredients for us, and happiness is a mindset which needs to be created from within ourselves. So, it is our responsibility to learn what works best for us and create our happiness.
Here are some of the activities which can help us create our own happiness: Appreciating ourselves- self-appreciation doesn't only form the basis of our lives but it is a stepping stone towards a better and loving world; Embracing every hurdle as a challenge - Take every hurdle as a challenge in helping you be the better version of you; Be content with the little things in life- Learn to appreciate the little things in life for they may be the big things in life for you in years to come; Surround yourself with the right kind of energy- The right kind of energy equals a peaceful mind and a heart filled with love; Doing what makes you happy- Follow your heart and above all enjoy yourself to the max!; Learning to prioritize yourself above everything else - Give yourself a chance to shine, heed to your needs, and try to fulfill them; Try new things- It could be a new hobby, sport or even new friends as long as you are happy at the end of the day!
Here are some questions to ponder!
1) What are the reasons for happiness?
2) Can happiness be measured?
3) Should someone elses happiness affect our happiness?
Icebreaker:- Create your own happiness by doing at least 1 thing today which you enjoy and makes you feel happy and tell us what you did. <3

1) What are the reasons for happiness?
Reasons for happiness, it can make us better people, we can give to others as well as ourselves. Happiness can get us through the rough times by looking at the bright side of things.
2) Can happiness be measured?
It depends on the person. I personally do not think it can be measured. Its an inner peace we have with ourselves. Each individual will no what happiness is for them when they find it.
3) Should someone elses happiness affect our happiness?
No, it should not. There are a lot of people in the world where their misery loves company. It is up to us to make sure we stay happy by protecting our space and energy.
1) What are the reasons for happiness?
There are so, so many reasons for happiness, it can be little things, or huge things. I feel like you cam find it in so many parts of life.
2) Can happiness be measured?
I don't think so, no. Happiness is different for each person, your happiness might not be the same as another person's, so you can't measure it.
3) Should someone elses happiness affect our happiness?
I feel like it depends. Seeing someone else feel happy might bring you extra happiness as it feels good to see someone else happy, but your happiness doesn't need to depend solely on someone else's happiness, your happiness is your own.
Icebreaker:- Create your own happiness by doing at least 1 thing today which you enjoy and makes you feel happy and tell us what you did.
I talked with my friends!
It contributes to the quality of life. It would make things seem worth while.
I think that in some ways it can be measured but that it differs from person to person. Some people are happier with the simple things in life, where as someone else might require more.
It shouldn't, but I understand how it could. Many people feel happy if they can make someone else happy. It could work in the opposite direction as well.
A large pot of meadow tea was made. It makes the house smell good the whole day.
1) What are the reasons for happiness?
happiness..ah, elusive happiness. i guess happiness is a state of mind that someone can have once they have their needs met and can enjoy where they are and the steps they take to get better things in life? i dont know.
maybe it is a mind set?
maybe it is a lack of created suffering?
maybe a non attatchment to pain?
all i really know is happiness is something i do not have and if it visits me - it doesn't stay for long.
2) Can happiness be measured?
Happiness i guess could be measured by a comparrison . what is more: suffering and misery or happy? again, hard to figure out, i dont really get happy.
3) Should someone elses happiness affect our happiness?
in a way, yes. if someone else we care about has good thigs in our life, it could affect us by making us happy for them. yet - the opposite can be true if we are in a comparrison with them, then thier happiness would detract from ours. But ideally, other's emotions should not effect ours.
Icebreaker:- Create your own happiness by doing at least 1 thing today which you enjoy and makes you feel happy and tell us what you did. <3
there was 0 happiness or joy in my day today - one of the worst days i have had in a very long time.
1) What are the reasons for happiness ?
🌸 We don't need reasons to be happy we can simply feel it . But if I am to give a reason for why I'm feeling happy I could come with some : Because I feel so , happiness comes from inside , because I exist , because I live , because I can see , feel ,smell , taste ,hear , touch , because I can walk , I can talk , because I was born with all this amazing senses and I can enjoy them all . Because I am a woman and my body creates life , gives life , because we have moon 🌝 and sun ☀️ we have sunshine that warm us and we have rain together with sun feeds the nature and feeds us humans too ,and thanks to them we have trees , we have air , beautiful views to enjoy and another amazing creatures and nature miracles .
2) Can happiness be measured ?
No , each one of us individually feels happiness in so many various ways. But we do express our own happiness level by saying how much and what makes / made us happy when we think or say it out loud : I am so happy , I am very happy , I am happy , I am not that happy , I am not happy .
3) Should someone else's happiness affect our happiness ?
I would be concerned if someone else's happiness wouldn't affect my happiness .
That would mean that empathy wouldn't exists in humans .
What would happen if someone close to me or a family member would be unhappy for some certain reasons but my response would be :
"Yes, whatever , today I am so happy is a sunny day , hurray ! I mind my happiness you mind your own .."
How about the happy friend or family member that is so excited to share with me a happy event but me instead I would respond :
"Yeah , whatever .. good for you , today I'm very unhappy and not in the mood to hear your happy moment ."
I consider that someone else's happiness should affect us but in a certain amount ; for that i am thankful and I trust my empathy and let it find its own balanced amount .
Icebreaker
Today I will just go out and connect with nature because that's one thing that makes me happy .
@KristinHelps
1) What are the reasons for happiness?
Anything that makes you feel good and smile
2) Can happiness be measured?
I dont think it should be measured - it is different for every individual
3) Should someone elses happiness affect our happiness?
Yes as we all support one another
1) What are the reasons for happiness?
Reasons for happiness come from every aspect of one's life, experiences, thoughts, feelings, actions, dreams and more! It can come from any and every aspect of life.
2) Can happiness be measured?
Yes, but only on each of our own individual scales and indicators. It is entirely individual and not comparable to others.
3) Should someone else
@KristinHelps
1) What are the reasons for happiness?
I distinguish between happy moments, the times we laugh and are exited - I believe we need those "highs" in between, the same as we need the "lows" . It makes the day colourful.
True happiness though comes from contentment and that occurs when we are accept how things are without clinging to how we wish them to be.
2) Can happiness be measured?
It can be measured as much as the waters in the ocean, each ocean is different.
3) Should someone elses happiness affect our happiness?
Vibes of happiness or exitement can be transferred from one person to the other and that can be bonding too, so it's good. When we are truly happy/content inside it will not but we will feel compassion.
What I did today to feel good was taking my time with breakfast, enjoying the birds begging for my food

I used my free time and did things I love, listening to music, reading and spending time with my nephews. It was very nice and at the end of the day it felt good.
@KristinHelps This was such a lovely and thought-provoking post. 💓
1) What are the reasons for happiness?
Well, MY reasons for happiness are cats, being with my loved funs, and doing challenging projects!
2) Can happiness be measured?
I don't think it can. But it can be compared to and against days when you were probably happIER or less happy than you are now.
3) Should someone elses happiness affect our happiness?
Yes and no. Sometimes you just have to completely immerse yourself in the other person's shoes and 'feel their feels' to know (and hopefully, help them) with what they're going through. Though I don't think it's a bad thing, being overly sensitive can be detrimental to our own health in the long run.
Create your own happiness by doing at least 1 thing today which you enjoy and makes you feel happy and tell us what you did.
One thing that I did today that made me feel really happy was completing my online course! I'd been putting off the last project because I felt absolutely unmotivated, but (unsurprisingly) I only had to begin doing it that I sped through the entire thing in no time - and had fun while doing it!
