@SoulfullyAButterfly

Below are the areas I’m currently most interested in writing content about:

1. Anxiety (symptoms, social, separation or other types, causes, treatment, role of meditation, other coping skills)

As a mental health that’s most commonly prevalent where I am and around others I know I feel it’s important to dig deeper into this area and share what people can actually do to prevent or cope. Even though I’ve never been diagnosed I feel I experience some symptoms.

2. Self-Esteem (signs, how to boost, affirmations, activities)

This is an area I’d like to look into and write about what it’s like to have low self-esteem since I feel I’ve also had some experience with low self-esteem even when trying to maintain a good image

3. Family (family therapy, family signs, family conflicts and resolutions)

i would want to know more about cultural differences in families such as how a family typically is, and how families who were raised from one culture raise children born into a different culture.

Mention which area you are interested in developing content for and why

  • Coping Skills
  • CBT (definition, techniques, CBT for X (any) conditions)

I am interested in personality disorders and coping mechanisms for them, namely dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT; a modified form of CBT).

@SilverSeastar
I have very little knowledge of CBT so this was a welcome information bit from you.
From what I have seen, you would do amazing with putting together methods that have been proven to work either from article studies or personal experience.
I am sure with your passions, any article you set your mind on will turn out wonderful.

@SoulfullyAButterfly
In this list of focus areas, there are a few that I feel I could approach from an experienced perspective like anxiety, depression, phobias, eating disorders, emotional abuse, family, couples, coping skills, stress, relationships, ADHD, self-esteem...
I have struggled with all of the above, some currently but others I have healed and learned how to balance them when they come back. No struggle is ever permanently gone. It becomes a part of you whether you want it to or not.
If I had to chose a focus, it would be coping skills. I feel like that encompasses a lot and I love focusing on healing and listening to what my body needs. That would put my best foot forward in research or topics.

@Hope

I am interested in the depression and anxiety categories because I believe I have a lot of knowledge on these topics and I have first hand experience with all three. I am also interested in the OCD and ADHD categories because someone in my family has these and I would like to learn more about them as well as educating the public with my findings. BIPOC seems intriguing too since I would like to break the mental health stigma and I stand for ending racism. I have a few good coping mechanisms and I’ve been through CBT so I feel like I can also educate the public on these categories.

I’m wondering why there are no bipolar and borderline personality disorder categories? I think they should be added because there is a lot to learn with these topics.

@sellistens we can absolutely create content around both those topics as well! there are no limitations when it comes to mental health topics/subtopics.

Clarezg September 11th, 2023

@sellistens I love your suggestion of adding bipolar as a topic I feel like that's something I don't commonly find resources about but having it as a topic would be really helpful for those that need support and resources on this topic.

I am interested in writing an article about what bipolar disorder is and how to reduce symptoms. I want to do this because I noticed that there's not many articles on this topic and I want to break the stigma. I also have a lot of knowledge on this topic as well.

I am really interested in content relating to abuse of all forms - would also be interesting to do some pieces on personality disorders too!

Substance Abuse and Addiction: This was my area of study in school, and I have a lot of experience and knowledge from working in this field as well.

Stress and Anxiety: This is something I've struggled with and still do, and I love learning and discovering ways to manage anxiety and stress. I think stress is so common in our society, and oftentimes, people go about their lives extremely stressed without learning various tools and techniques to regulate their stress levels, which can have a major impact on their mental and physical health.

Eating disorder: Something I have a lot of experience with, including lived experience.

ADHD and Autism: I have ADHD, so I have lived experience, and I am super interested in neurodivergence in general, which includes autism. I'm fascinated by some of the newer research in these areas.
