...See more Hi, everyone! I hope you're all having a nice February 🌞 Over the past few weeks, we have been really busy behind the scenes trying to think of the best ways to advance the Safety Team. During our hard work, we have decided on a few changes that will hopefully achieve this goal. Here are the changes that we have decided on: * As of March 1st, filling in the form when flagging is mandatory. I know -- filling in forms can be tiring, tedious, just plain annoying. But, as it stands, this is the only way we can measure who is actively flagging on the team. If you are an ambassador, this does not apply to you. In every other case, you must fill out this form, linked here [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdXEfHsSo9L1aj48p6v0umXsRL-P-bQJCZBBYA0s_n8n6-V9Q/viewform]. *  We are increasing the amount of cheers you earn per flag. Yes, you read that correctly! Currently, we award 10 cheers per correct flag -- this is being upped to 25 per correct flag. To put that into perspective, if someone correctly flags 10 profiles, they will receive 250 cheers, whereas before this point, it would have been 100. This is quite a big difference, and is in effect as of this month! If we see an increase in the amount of users submitting forms when flagging, we will further increase the amount of cheers earned. Flag Option Removal

This is just a little note to all Safety Patrol users that a flag option is being removed: The above highlighted-yellow option (Username: Impersonates a Famous Person or Other User) will be officially removed from the flag list soon. Due to evolving rules (i.e. usernames being allowed to contain celebrity names) and the need for efficiency, we feel that it is best to remove this flag option. The other aspect to this flag option, "or Other User", would usually be used for profiles that are pretending to be another user, i.e. Rebekah7Cups, or iamtommyon7cups, or something similar. Instead of using the old flag option, I'd suggest the "Multiple Accounts" option. Please remember to give the reason for flagging, and please be specific. Thank you! Discussion Writing -- We Need Your Help! 🦺

We need help with extending our Discussions branch of the Safety Team. What are the responsibilities? Good question! Here they are; * Hosting discussion content regularly, either in the forums or in the Safety Discussions room * Writing scripts, if necessary (to be done with Rebekah -- that's me!) * Being punctual (as in, turning up on time to host if in a room!) * Can dedicate at least 4 hours a month to the team (1 discussion per week, for example) Don't want to join the team officially but want to help write the discussions? That's a-okay! Here’s what being on the Safety Patrol looks like:: - Scan the browse listeners page [https://www.7cups.com/BrowseListeners/] daily and flag any inappropriate profiles - Scan the general request queue daily for inappropriate profiles - Scan forums or group rooms for inappropriate profiles - Be proactive to help flag any profile you have seen anywhere that is inappropriate How do we know if it's inappropriate? - Sexual or graphic profile picture - Sexual or graphic username - Sexual or graphic bio text - Profile bio text sharing social media handles, email Id..etc. Prerequisites & Expectations: βœ“ Listeners: You must be a Verified Listener [https://www.7cups.com/forum/ListenerLearningJourney_149/VerifiedListenersProject_1839/IWanttobeaVerifiedListener_46935/1/] βœ“ Members: You must be a part of the community for at least one month (no longer have the Newbie badge) βœ“ You must be active on 7 Cups a few times a week (roughly an hour minimum) βœ“ You will be required to read a document on best practices [https://docs.google.com/document/d/1vBXLvo7gLMewIM1lhnZ2g8MXAnq4sMwxqXgxzTJCDos/edit] and pass a test to prove your knowledge. βœ“ Once you have read the guide in full and understand the material, apply and take the test here. ...See more Hello, all! 🌞 Due to the recent revamp of the Safety domain, we thought it would be a good idea to create a frequently asked questions (FAQ) post. There are currently 3 Safety branches within the Safety Team; Safety Patrol, Safety Outreach, and Safety Discussions. Training for Safety Patrol is mandatory in order to join either SO or SD. If you have a question about any safety team that isn't answered in this post, please feel free to ask it in this thread - I will be updating the post with new questions every so often, so keep checking back! Here are the most common questions we receive; 🌞 What do the Safety Teams do? ST has 3 branches - patrol, outreach and discussions. * Patrol Branch: flagging profiles that break site rules. * Outreach Branch: messaging users with minor, fixable profile violations to give them a chance to adhere to site rules before being flagged. * Discussion Branch: conducting discussions in forums/chat rooms to spread safety awareness! 🌞 What's the overall purpose of ST? ST has an important role within the 7 Cups community. We aim to increase the site's safety by enforcing site rules as diplomatically as possible. Our purpose is to encourage a safe, supportive, and caring environment for every 7 Cups user. Can I do this, please? Simply put, no. Messaging users to rectify their profiles is strictly prohibited, unless you are a ST - Outreach member. ONLY members of ST - Outreach Branch are able to contact users. This is due to team members receiving training specifically for outreaching. Discussion Branch team members are also not permitted to outreach users. 🌞 I was messaged by a SO member. What should I do? Please act in accordance with the SO member's message. If you have a violation on your profile, the best thing to do is to remove it. This will save your profile from being flagged. Should you respond, please be respectful and polite. Abuse toward SO members is simply not tolerated, and may result in warning emails or behavioural points. 🌞 Can I be on all branches of ST, please? Unfortunately, not at this time. You can only be on the Discussion Branch or the Outreach Branch. This is understandable, it's definitely a grey area -- so, we thought it would be a good idea to make a forum post about it so that any and all questions can be answered. Please feel free to ask questions in this thread, and I'll do my best to answer! Please keep in mind the following... Listener Usernames: We SHOULD FLAG profiles that include the following words in their username: - "Doctor" - "Therapist" - "Counsellor" - "Nurse" - "Psychologist" - "Psychiatrist" - "Dr" Listener Bios: Please note that for any reference to healthcare fields (saying they ARE a doctor, nurse, psychologist, counsellor or therapist etc., anything in the healthcare field), the listener MUST indicate they do not give advice and follow guidelines of the site. If they do not, feel free to send these profiles to a SPOT member, or flag the profile. ***Β We DO NOT flag students of any kind. If someone says they're a student nurse, a student studying for a degree in psychology or the like, we DO NOT flag itΒ *** Our goal is to make sure that we never mislead members to believe that listeners can give professional guidance, advice or feedback. They changed their rules and set up. Our site update was just placed today so this is going to take a bit to get the community aware of this. Because of this, we will not be flagging profiles currently for this violation, but we will be outreaching on these profiles as of this moment.
