...See more Hi, everyone! I hope you're all having a nice February 🌞 Over the past few weeks, we have been really busy behind the scenes trying to think of the best ways to advance the Safety Team. During our hard work, we have decided on a few changes that will hopefully achieve this goal. Here are the changes that we have decided on: * As of March 1st, filling in the form when flagging is mandatory. I know -- filling in forms can be tiring, tedious, just plain annoying. But, as it stands, this is the only way we can measure who is actively flagging on the team. If you are an ambassador, this does not apply to you. In every other case, you must fill out this form, linked here [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdXEfHsSo9L1aj48p6v0umXsRL-P-bQJCZBBYA0s_n8n6-V9Q/viewform]. *  We are increasing the amount of cheers you earn per flag. Yes, you read that correctly! Currently, we award 10 cheers per correct flag -- this is being upped to 25 per correct flag. To put that into perspective, if someone correctly flags 10 profiles, they will receive 250 cheers, whereas before this point, it would have been 100. This is quite a big difference, and is in effect as of this month! If we see an increase in the amount of users submitting forms when flagging, we will further increase the amount of cheers earned. The reassurance we were given was that we could simply manually expand posts if we wanted to. This is no longer possible. This is not okay. Whoever has the power to change this, please do so ASAP.

...See more Heyy! Welcome Everyone! Misty Here! Today is Safer Internet Day. I have held two, really informative and interesting discussions, one for teens and one for adults, and the information was so fantastic I wanted to share it with you here, so that those of you who couldn't attend could still learn more about being safer online the same as we have. So the first icebreaker question was "How long have you had a mobile phone and when did you get your first mobile phone?" Answers were very interesting with some of us having had mobile phones that were as big as a brick! over 25 years ago! Next we discussed what being 'online' meant and when might we be 'offline'? Here we had some very interesting answers, and we learnt that even when we don't answer our texts or messages and are actually signed out, our technological instruments, smart phones, routers, modems, smart tvs etc, might actually still be online! We found out about β€˜Parental Controls and who uses them? - Parental controls are available on almost all devices, modems, phones, tvs computers, tablets; they can be used to block websites, or to limit the amount of time online or the channels that can be seen on a tv! They are designed to make the internet a safer place, so please investigate using them if you havent already. We also found out that some businesses and universities and schools didn't allow wifi and some blocked certain sites on the internet. Then we asked who uses social media and who posts on their social media sites and page about their holidays, telling everyone when they will be away, and where they are going etc? This led to a lot of us talking about what is a real 'friend' and who we should make sure that any information is only shared with real people that are real friends and that we should be very careful about posting information. Why is it important that we dont share any personally identifying information on 7Cups? This led to a lot of great answers! People may mis-use the information and contact us. They may not be who they say they are. They may sell our contact information to others. When we are anonymous we are far safer. Did you know that β€˜password β€˜ is the most common password! How might we make a safer password? We also discussed if longer is stronger! There were some really interesting thoughts on this from using a latin swear word to using lots of numbers! Security Questions - many sites use security questions to reset passwords, how can we make them safer and hard to guess? Instead of using the correct answer to create a security question give the wrong information so that makes it harder to guess and steal. For instance if the question is What is your mothers maiden name instead of answering correctly use something else like your favourite colour. ...See more If someone were to confess a crime or an intention to commit a serious offence, how best are we able to respond to it? im in the Uk and there was a famous case where a service similar to this called Samaritans, someone confessed a murder and the listener broke confidentiality and reported it. He lost his job and got into trouble. thanks in advance for this tricky subject!

I know Safety Patrol team is at place, filters are at place, to help ensure positive environment on 7cups, yet it seems more is required to make 7cups a healthier place. So I am inviting suggestions - What more can be done to prohibit the use of 7cups for dating/sexting purposes. This problem perhaps cannot be 100% solved, but the best we can do is to look to minimize it. Thus, inviting your valuable suggestions. Feel free to tag your wise friends @DonaldDraper

3. Please, stay on topic to the best of your ability!
4. Please, keep confidential information to yourself. This means no sharing of usernames, messages in a 1-1 or a group setting, or any details about a member chat. Take any and all issues that you'd like to discuss in more depth to Rebekah or tommy.
5. Please, try to post threads within the relevant sub-forum! We understand that this might not be easy, but posting a thread such as "Hello, I'm new!" would clearly not be suited to Part 8 - Safety Activities: Discussions, Events, and Games 🌞
