Gratitude Circle Activity
by MindfulJourney22
Last post
December 2nd
...See more Greetings everyone! We invite you to take part in the Gratitude Circle, a mindful activity designed to foster appreciation and strengthen connections within our community. This is a simple yet meaningful way to acknowledge and celebrate the positive impact others have made in our lives. By sharing gratitude and appreciation, we create a supportive and uplifting environment for all. We encourage everyone to participate and spread kindness by taking a moment to express what you’re thankful for. Let’s come together and make this space one of positivity and connection! 1. Take a few moments to quiet your mind and reflect on the people in this community who have made a positive impact on you. It could be through their kind words, helpful Suggestions, or thoughtful actions. 2.  In this thread, post a short message of gratitude. Tag the person you're appreciating and explain what you’re thankful for. It could be something they’ve done recently or something they've always done that made a difference. 3. When you share your appreciation, make sure to tag a different person each time you post. This ensures that everyone has the chance to feel valued. 4.  After posting, take a moment to breathe deeply and send positive thoughts or intentions to the person you just thanked. ------------------------- Current taglist as of November 17,  2024 To add or remove yourself from the taglist please click  [https://www.7cups.com/forum/mindfulness/Announcements_2413/MindfulnessAutomatedTaglist_320002/?post=3438021]here [https://www.7cups.com/forum/mindfulness/Announcements_2413/MindfulnessAutomatedTaglist_320002/?post=3438021] @4551SP @adventurousBranch3786 @Admirablerainbow2825 @adventurousCat7477 @Agent22 @alexandralee @AllAboutThePeace11 @amiablePeace77@asherb281 @avistaco @cal1860 @CaringSub @CatHanderOutNoah @Clio9876 @communicativeJet616 @dapperBeach8823 @daydreammemories @DragonspanAnge @EchoOrAsh @etherealize @Falcon05 @fearlessMaple308 @FloraBelle @ForestZen @frankPark1546 @GentleHealingInitiative @Goldenfox2009 @greenScarf6235 @hardworkingBeechwood6063 @healingsoul4892 @iloveyouxx @imprettysleepy @indigoBeechwood597 @infiniteforever12 @InsightfulPhoenix @Invisibility101 @JarofSeeds627 @jaywalkk @Kickan75 @kindRiver6 @kivesh @Linux2022 @Littlejoy11 @livinggadget @MindfulJourney22 @mytwistedsoul @nessapressure05 @NurseJose @NotAllHere713 @onwardforevenmore @pamharley003 @PeacefulBeach3454 @peacefulDovex @PopPunkPrincess17 @Rainboho @rebeccastgo @sincereGrapefruit83  @sky2Ocean20 @Snowy00 @spongbobishappy @sunshineBeauty5741 @Swordpsalm @tallZebra8032 @Tinywhisper11 @toughApricot223 @warmMemory6263 @willingBranch634 @VKlistening @yellowPineapple3652 @yzzil @Zeraphim

World Mental Health Day: Embracing Mindfulness
by ASilentObserver
Last post
October 15th
...See more Hello, community,  I hope you are all taking it easy this week. As we all know World Mental Health Day is observed annually on October 10th. It is a global initiative aimed at raising awareness about mental health issues and challenges and promoting well-being. When it comes to promoting well-being, mindfulness is one of the powerful practices to attain it. Today I want us to explore this topic and how it can significantly enhance our mental health.  So what is mindfulness?  It is the practice of being fully present in the moment, without any judgment. It includes paying attention to our thoughts, feelings, and sensations without getting caught up in them. In today's busy world, mindfulness is the key to taking care of our well-being. Some of the benefits of practicing mindfulness are:  * It helps to reduce stress by calming the mind and body. It helps to lower cortisol levels, a hormone associated with stress. * When we are focused on the present moment, mindfulness can help to alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression. * It helps individuals better understand and manage their emotions, leading to greater emotional resilience. * Regular practice of mindfulness can improve sleep quality by reducing racing thoughts and promoting relaxation. * Also helps individuals become more aware of their thoughts and behaviors, leading to greater self-understanding. By practicing mindfulness in our daily lives, we can improve our mental health and overall well-being. So let's commit to making mindfulness a priority in our daily lives and foster a culture of taking care of ourselves and being compassionate to ourselves and each other. How do you practice mindfulness in daily life? Share your thoughts and tips in the comments below.

🌟 Embrace the Magic Within You 🌟

...See more In the quiet moments between the chaos of life, pause and listen to the whisper of your dreams. They are the gentle reminders of your potential, waiting to unfold like petals in the warmth of dawn. You are a universe of possibilities, a canvas where every experience paints a story of resilience and growth. Embrace the rhythm of your journey, for every step carries the melody of your heart's desires. In the garden of your soul, tend to the flowers of kindness, courage, and gratitude. Let them bloom brightly, scattering seeds of hope in every direction. Your existence is a symphony, playing a melody that resonates with the stars and echoes through eternity. Remember, within you lies the power to create, to heal, and to love unconditionally. Each day is a gift, an opportunity to weave the threads of your dreams into the tapestry of reality. Believe in the beauty of your aspirations. Embrace the journey, embrace yourself, and let your light shine as a beacon of inspiration to the world. May your heart be filled with joy, and may your soul dance with the wonder of all that you are capable of.

Embracing darkness

...See more All the posts I read on here (if it's not someone describing certain events/incidents) or on social media are all positive, bubbling with energy.. Tho everyone these days says embrace yourself. But *** fears diving unto themselves. Your whole self is not all positive n excited. It's the seriousness, the depth, the darkness inside you too that is an existing part of you. The world does not end if you recognize it, sit with it, give its existence validity. Rather the world inside you calms down, becomes slower, like weight off your back. What is it about trauma that keeps reminding / remembering us of the good old days ? It's the mind taking us to a safe place. For teens might be childhood time, for adults might be college days or school days.. Ego is always self-preservative. So in trauma / extreme stressful situation, it takes you to your happy place. A lot of psychologists / psychiatrist also take people to their happy place, as part of therapy. Else one can develop things like anxiety, ptsd etc. Overtime. But that therapy is not the solution alone. It's like a pause button, for you to take a break (which you really need). N then get up, go on n fight the world again hehe, no, go on n start bettering yourself again. embracing your serious side, facing your fears, contemplating in darkness helps too. Just not what people like to handle. Plunging inside your mindful abyss is too scary for most.

You are allowed to unlearn who you’ve been if it isn’t who you are anymore.
by Armytae

...See more You are allowed to unlearn who you’ve been if it isn’t who you are anymore. Our society doesn’t make much room for change to be okay. We’re so often told to choose, to commit, to stay the course… we’re told that if we care about something enough, we’ll do whatever it takes to make it work. Sometimes, this is true — sometimes, we *will* do whatever it takes. And… sometimes, we’ll realize it just isn’t for us anymore. We’ll realize there are parts of us we want to let go of and leave behind. We’ll realize we don’t feel the same now as we used to. We'll realize our ideas and dreams and visions have changed. We'll realize *we've* changed, which might shift how we want to show up in the world. When we let shifting, changing, and doing something different be okay, we open ourselves up to the opportunity of reconnecting with our truth and our meaning, over and over. Giving ourselves (and others) permission to redefine who we are throughout our lives is freedom. What part of you doesn’t quite fit these days? What story isn’t really true for you anymore? What pattern isn’t serving you any longer? What role are you filling that you might want to examine deeper? How are you shifting, changing, and growing? What are you redefining? And, how are you making room for all of it to be okay?

Long term practice anxiety

...See more My meditation journey has been so complicated. For years I practiced all the time. Went on retreats. And my anxieties and worries faded away. At one point, however, I developed a severe panic disorder. And in therapy I realized it had to do with my meditation practice. But it was likely that I was in a situation where the practice was a project. There was a pressure to keep advancing to the next level. Now my relationship with meditation is fraught. I subconsciously resist having a regular practice of any sort. Even the simple mindfulness that was so helpful to me. Trying to be gentle with myself. Using a habit streak tracker. Watching the gaps widen and eventually doing some more practice. Sometimes trying one of the more complicated practices I used to enjoy doing. But nothing will stick. I’m grateful though — since I stopped pushing myself to do a ton of meditation all the time my panic disorder has subsided. I suppose time will tell — maybe the big lesson I was supposed to learn from this journey is gentleness. Even in the pursuit of calm.

...See more 1. If it feels wrong, don't do it 2. Say exactly what you mean 3. Don't be a people pleaser. 4. Trust your instincts. 5. Never speak bad about yourself. 6. Never give up on your dreams. 7. Don’t be afraid to say no. 8. Don’t be afraid to say yes. 9. Be kind to yourself. 10. Let go of what you can’t control. 11. Stay away from drama and negativity. 12. Love. Learn to love yourself without the love of others.

The Mindfulness Center welcomes you to a place where it is okay to just be, and not worry about 100 things. You can observe nature or your own room, follow your breath going in and out, or be aware of your feet touching the sidewalk as you head home. It is all mindfulness.

There are no hard and fast rules on how to be mindful, and you do not have to do anything a certain way. There are guidelines to help us stay on the path of mindfulness, like in the Daily Checkins, where team members share insights and tips about mindfulness. You can join in the discussions there, or in any of the forum threads.

You will also find videos in the resource center that talk about what is mindfulness and guide us on a journey to having an actual experience right now of what it feels like to be free of our “thought train”, as we let ourselves go and relax a bit. If all of this sounds good, join us for hosted sessions in which you can discuss and experience mindfulness first hand.

Stop and breath. Respect yourself and have compassion for what you are going through.

Notice what is happening around you that your senses are telling you. Feel the breath go in and go out.

Feel good about yourself. Life has brought you on a journey up to here. That is reason to celebrate and appreciate all that life offers. And listen and feel the breath!
