- What is the four-part formula that you can use to say any difficult message well?

  1. The Micro-yes
  2. Data point
  3. Show impact
  4. End on a question

- Which one of these parts do you think you could improve on and do better for yourself "and why"?

For me, I feel like I could improve on the micro yes. It's really effective to lay the groundwork for the feedback before actually providing it.

- Why do you think it's so important to cultivate a feedback culture here on 7 Cups?

We all have our own experiences and expertises. Keeping an open mind to all perspectives will only be a good thing, and allow all of us to improve as listeners and overcome our own flaws, which everyone has.

I think the micro-yes is an awesome way to point out that you're about to provide some thoughts on the other person's work.

What is the four-part formula that you can use to say any difficult message well?

1) The micro-yes

2) Data – point

3) Show – impact

4) End on a question

Which one of these parts do you think you could improve on and do better for yourself "and why"?

I have to improve on data – point, every human being is different, so I really have to be careful of certain blur words. Sometimes I come across as judgemental, so working on with how I approach these situations

Why do you think it's so important to cultivate a feedback culture here on 7 Cups?

I think it is important to cultivate a feedback culture at 7 cups because the receiver would understand what she/he has to do forward, also to continue engaging in communication.

@KBeauty12

I have to work on the data points as well. I tend to be very vague with my feedback which leaves room for interpretation and often confusion.

- What is the four-part formula that you can use to say any difficult message well?

Micro-yes, Data Point, Show Impact, End on a Question

- Which one of these parts do you think you could improve on and do better for yourself "and why"?

End on a question. I tend to phrase my feedback as a request or as something that's "up to you to accept" so to speak. I'll be working on this.

- Why do you think it's so important to cultivate a feedback culture here on 7 Cups?

There is always room for improvement. Sometimes we don't see ourselves as clearly as people outside the situation do, so a third perspective can help with objectivity and detachment.

1. Micro-yes Question.

2.Data point

3.Show impact

4.End on a question

- Which one of these parts do you think you could improve on and do better for yourself "and why"?

I could honestly improve on all 4 points here. Why? It would help me to receive feedback and also to give better feedback for better results rather than upsetting, concluding and evolving.

- Why do you think it's so important to cultivate a feedback culture here on 7 Cups?

So we may all grow and learn, and improve (:

@Heather225

What is the four-part formula that you can use to say any difficult message well?

Micro-yes: Ask a yes or no question that gives the other person the que that feedback is coming.

Data points: Use specific data to show what the feedback is

Outcome: Show how the data impacted others with specific examples

Ask a question: Ask what their thoughts are on what you had to offer or ask what can be done to move forward

Which one of these parts do you think you could improve on and do better for yourself "and why"?

I am more of a soft touch when it comes to feedback, I don't want anyone to feel attacked or belittled. I tend to be very vague with my input. I definitely need to work on providing specific examples because my message tends to be lost without the data backing it up.

- Why do you think it's so important to cultivate a feedback culture here on 7 Cups?

Feedback allows us to grow better professionally. It helps foster trust, accountability, and a sense of community as we work towards a common goal.

1. The micro yes questions 2. Be specific 3. Impact Statement 4. Show Impact

- Which one of these parts do you think you could improve on and do better for yourself?

The being specific, because I talk a lot and fill up the air with words,if I be more specific then they will understand better what I am saying.

- Why do you think it's so important to cultivate a feedback culture here on 7 Cups?

Nobody is perfect, we all thrive on learning from our mistakes!

The micro-yes, the data point, the impact statement, wrapping up with a question.

- Which one of these parts do you think you could improve on and do better for yourself "and why"?
I need to work on how I deliver feedback and will look for ways to practice. I have bookmarked that videos. It was fantastic!

It will improve our online communication and will help us all grow, which will benefit the organization.

- What is the four-part formula that you can use to say any difficult message well?

1.The micro yes. 2. Get specific. 3. Show impact. 4. Ask a question.

- Which one of these parts do you think you could improve on and do better for yourself "and why"?

I really like the last part about ending in a question. Having someone to help me improve on areas where I am lacking would give me a lot of confidence.

- Why do you think it's so important to cultivate a feedback culture here on 7 Cups?

Feedback is the best way to help people grow professionally and help overall with communication in an organization like 7cups, especially since all communication is done by instant messaging, it can be hard to communicate because of the lack of non-verbal cues.

@Heather225

Hey Heather, and once again this is such an incredibly important topic!
So let's get to your questions :)

What is the four-part formula that you can use to say any difficult message well?

1. The micro-yes
2. Specific feedback, rather then blurr-words
3. Show how the data point impacts
4. Ending with a question

Which one of these parts do you think you could improve on and do better for yourself "and why"?

I think the ending on a question part is something I could really improve. This can make the feedback receiver feel like their thoughts matter just as much, which is so important when it comes to feedback. Both parts have to understand why something is getting criticized.

Why do you think it's so important to cultivate a feedback culture here on 7 Cups?

Everyone on Cups wants to improve. And we need to help each other to achieve that. Giving the feedback the right way can really help to get that feedback across without hurting anyone, but helping them to achieve their goals!

Thank you for reading through my rainbow-post once again, you wonderful human! πŸ’™
