diversity is so important in every aspect of life. I truly believe my life has been enrich from growing up and living the majority of my life in an extremely diverse community.diversity for the team enhances the teams skill set. It also allows 24 hour coverage due to the many times zones.additionally, I believe the more you are exposed to new and different culture the more compassionate and understanding you are.diversity makes for a much more dynamic community overall.

✒️ How can we be respectful of different cultures on 7 Cups?

I think it's important to be mindful when listening that we generally do not know this person's location or culture and without cultural context we need to be more thoughtful with our responses.this means keeping an open mind and not being judgmental, just because something is "taboo" and your culture does not mean that is applicable to all cultures and this is a worldwide platform.as an American my take take on dating and marriage is very different from someone living in India or Africa, as someone living in California my opinions are different from someone living in the south.I always try to keep this in mind and avoid projecting my own values and opinions.as far as language it's already hard to determine tone, it must be really hard when English is their second language. I am very respectful and impressed with anyone who has learned a second language, because I only speak English.

Having a diverse team allows for differing opinions and change of perspectives. This allows us to be more innovative and mindful when doing tasks. Additionally, it allows us to target a wider audience and understand the different cultures and backgrounds.

We could use simpler language and provide ample context in case someone does not use English as their first language since communication is crucial.

✒️ Please list some advantages of a diverse team.

Diversity is so important for me, coming from a background of mixed ethnicities and as a teacher of students of ELL, I believe that patience and understand/acceptance is so important.  I believe diversity and understanding it can be the glue that bonds us together.  Hearing other’s ideas from different places, cultures, and thinking can be creative, new and help produce more ways of out of the box thinking.  We merge as one even though we are in different time zones, ethnicities, backgrounds, beliefs, cultures.  It's so fascinating to hear another story or interpretation from another member or listener that I haven't thought of myself.

Being respectful of different cultures means active listening to new ideas and stories, being non-judgemental of others opinions, being open minded, respectful, and understanding that other people or members' lives are not my life, so their struggles or past is theirs and new to me and learning about gives me knowledge and more insight of others. Respect all opinions, views, how they say things might be said differently in native English, but still listen and respond with empathy.

In the world of 7 Cups, every person is treated with equal respect, enjoys equal freedom, and equal rights irrespective of the gender orientation, race, religion, or any other difference. We embrace diversity and consider it key in bringing varied perspectives and solutions to difficult problem

Helpful to reach and support more people situated outside of our country/culture.

Covers different time zones and allows us to support people living in different timezones
