Hiya everyone, I hope this new month brings each one of us lots of peace and joy!💖
Okie I'll try not to blabber too much and come straight to the point! xD
Soooo, we know that when we sign up on 7 cups, we are assigned an auto-generated username because anonymity first hehe.
And of course, we can change our username from our settings page, for upto first 2 weeks and then after filling a form and providing a valid reason. Which is how there's so many people here who have come up with almost random looking words from the English language, that when put together bring us a spectacular "username", which is often synonymous to their personality, and of course, a major part of our identity here at 7 cups.
Purely an observation, and of course, it could've been deeply impacted by the "roles" each account plays here, "listeners" on here to listen to people, support and be an encouraging presence reigniting hope for those that need it, have a more "upbeat" sorta username, usually. (Usually being the keyword)
On the other hand, I notice some "member" account usernames that aren't as "upbeat" sounding, which also makes complete sense because on our member account, we are likely more vulnerable and embracing of the not-so-happy-and-okay-us too. (Again, usually being the keyword, and a personal observation entirely)
Indeed, there's extremes but then there's also a broad spectrum, and we are all spread out on it embracing our unique-ness and authenticity, describing it as how we see it and are comfortable with. 🌞 I love coming across different usernames that attempt to personate the person behind the screen in one or more ways, whatever way it speaks to *them*. To each their own, always!
However, yes it makes me wonder how our usernames shape up our identity here, how we see ourselves and also for others and how we'd like them to see us too.
A username speaks a lot about the person, I feel, the more-thought-out ones, specially. Ones with some context and with a backstory!
(I tried xD but fortunately, I am me and I'll complete the entire story even after saying "long story short"~ ooh and sometimes even with sub-plots and individual character-development arcs 🤣)

My dog was called clio, she died just before I joined 7 cups. I thought itva good way to remember her.
I love the way dogs love. I need that commitment, lol. Also their living in the moment.
I also like the name for me. My real life name is my serious name. Clio feels a bit frivolous and I like the idea of being more lighthearted.
I wouldn't change it for anything.

Ooh your username seems to be in the more generic format in which the automated usernames at 7 cups usually are "Some adjective+A noun+combination of numbers", so it's really interesting to know that it not an auto generated one and something that you wanted to reflect about your personality. Love the idea behind your username, thanks for sharing!

ha ha.. i always wonder and ask when the opportunity presents about usernames. There’s so much to tell in some cases. And even if not , can you find attachment to the username or do you like it?
i created mine after a psychologist said, have you heard about BPD and showed me a dbt book with worksheets book she had on the table conveniently.. she then asked if I’d like 16months or 3 months dbt therapy…
after leaving that appointment and in a relationship with a self proclaimed yet somewhat informed therapist of sorts due to some studding, I said what happened. Her reaction, wow, what an insult. You do know they basically label hard to deal with people as BPD?
U don’t think I have it, although it does fit but not all the time , everyone probably fits it one point or other….
so after cups blocked my ip address, angry and wanting to talk to my support via a vpn i created my account. It was not used and left dormant until i permanently deleted everything and some time passed and then … well awaken the deceased. So yeah, that’s my username but you can call me Holly if you prefer

My username is a revised version because the first one has a ‘Les’ instead of Love7
I looked for another word that starts with letter ‘L’, & it was Love
I chose Victoria because one of the first letter initial of my name starts with a V
I put number 7 to anticipate this comment: ‘this username is taken’ 😄
I chose number 7 because I think 7 is a good number, but then it is a coincidence that it is for my 7 Cups account (∩˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶ ∩)

I would change to Kuromi (◣ _ ◢) because I like Kuromi character from Sanrio and I relate to her story of working hard to get something but are almost always at odds with good fate ヽ(ヅ)ノ

Some creative and cute names I have come across are LoveMyMoonFlowers(super cute username, moonflowers are very peaceful), OptimisticEmpath(coupled with the white bear, opti is strong and always helps people), beecake(creative goofy dork), tinywhisper(like a playful fairy who hides in flowers and pulls pranks on people), Obs(overlord guardian), desiree (im forgetting her actual username, but she likes cupcakes and rainbows and smiles :D)! I need to remember more, there are so many other names here that I could remember, but I frequent here less so getting my two brain cells to work.

I am a loner on here so I don't honestly can answer past "what would your user name be now if you could change it " part of this prompt. IrrationalAnxiety boy I have odd story to tell.
Well, I have digestive issues to say the least, and I needed to go for a scope, but I have some past tramas, ( nothing too bad just a nurse not getting my mom after a woke up from getting teeth pulled I was 6) I chickened out anxiety threw the roof.
So also I have anxiety attacks over the stupidest thing... So Irrational and Anxiety because thats what I am the text book definition of.
What would I change my name too. Probably "NoCortasolPlease" or ""stressTestMax "or "runningShoe"or "AnxietyDragons"
The first two are because of my joints, they are pretty bad and it seems caused by stupid things. Running shoe because of the "flight" response, and "AnxietyDragons"
Because I want to have people ask me about the Anxiety dragons, I would personify emotions to work out things I couldn't let go, and one day I got the idea to say my triggers and Anxiety attacks, as Anxiety Dragons, Tiny cute little dragons, that are safe and ok to be around. The problem is when you feed them people food, you see Anxiety Dragons live on Scary things, so they grow and hiss and spit fire, causing you to run and stay safe. But when you feed them people food, bad diet, horrid sleeping habits, with a side of unhealthy thoughts, and they grow and burn down the whole village. they then have to send out knight to kill it. Its a long fought battle, but the knight will be victorious. Anxiety dragons are going extinct, please stop feeding them people food. They are wild pretty creatures that shouldn't be taken home with you. Even if they are friendly, our food is toxic to them. (Making them characters helps me, probably because I'm a creative person, and Anxiety dragons, kind of are part of that creativity, the positives part is by the time I fleshed out this anxiety attack dragon the panic has all ready gone oh and personification for me helps me put the situation kind of in my control, its my character I can kill them off, or keep them. Such as my anxiety over venomous things, ya were gonna keep that one that one is healthy His name is caution Caution is a good Anxiety dragon, Rando the Anxiety dragon rogue is wanted dead or alive. )

Truly, it's brave of you to open up about your experiences with anxiety and how you've found a creative way to cope with it. I get how overwhelming these feelings can be, especially when they stem from past traumas, even the seemingly small ones. (But hey, sometimes things that come across as "stupid" or "silly" or "small" to some may be significant and big enough for us, and it matters)
I love your idea of the Anxiety Dragons! It’s such a unique and imaginative way to personify your emotions. By turning them into little dragons, does seem like you’ve found a way to understand and manage your anxiety better with this? which is amazing. It’s like you’re creating a whole world where you can interact with your feelings, and that’s super powerful hehe.

@Sunisshiningandsoareyou I love your upbeat username! And your questions here! Our usernames are the identity we choose and we all have a story to tell! I think subconsciously we all want to tell our story, or we want someone to hear us.
I came to 7Cups looking for a way to help others who have been through what I've been though, now that I have had a long time working on my healing. I was in a relationship for 3 years with an abusive person who called me Bunny. I wanted to be create a username that focused on all I overcame and could help me not be triggered every time I heard the word bunny. Then choosing the adjective "brave" felt like a good description for me. It is incredibly difficult and scary to leave a trauma bond. Anyone who stands up to an oppressor is brave and I came here to support others like me.
