Mantras To Live By
A mantra is "a word or phrase that is repeated often or that expresses someone's basic beliefs."
A mantra is a self affirmation that you can repeat & think to yourself. Itcan help you be reflective about your personal thought patterns and work on improving them. Pick 1 or 2 that you want to work on and make a commitment to thinking them this week. Say them to youself when you wake up in the morning and before bed.
Let us know how it goes! You can create your own & share them here. Here are a few for you to start with:
I love myself and accept myself in this moment.
I forgive myself.
Keep your head up & your heart open.
My life is a magical gift.
This too shall pass.
I am strong & vibrant. I bring my unique opinions & world view to everything that I do.
I will accept the change that I cannot change.
Running away from any problem only increases distance from the solution, the easiest way to escape from anyproblem is to solve it.
Focus on now and worry about the future later.
"Be the change you want to see in the world."
I suppose it's clich but I love it.
@SemanticSatiation That is one of my favorites, too.
Honestly, I repeat this nearly every day: "In your deepest pain, in your weakest hour, in your darkest night - You are lovely." It's from the song "The Grey" by Icon for Hire. I highly suggest everyone listento it.
I used to use "Circle me Lord" as my mantra when I was ill, takenfrom this prayer:
Circle me, Lord.
Keep protection near
And danger afar.
Circle me, Lord
Keep hope within.
Keep doubt without.
Circle me, Lord.
Keep light near
And darkness afar.
Circle me, Lord.
Keep peace within.
Keep evil out.

Maybe not today,
Or tomorrow,
or even in a year,
but eventually
things will turn up,
things will get better and
you will be able to look back
and say with relief
"I made it"
"Forgive to life."
"Just keep swimming, swimming swimming"
I think that's my mom's favorite quote of all time. Haha. She says it all the time.
"Night has always pushed up day, you must know life to see decay, and I won't rot. Not this mind and not this heart, I won't rot" -Mumford and Sons
"Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light" -Dylan Thomas
"When I've hit the ground, neither lost nor found, if you believe in me, I'll still believe" - Mumford and Sons
'Gratitude turns what you have into enough." - Timber Hawkeye
