...See more Hello, 7 Cups Residents, 7 Cups is a community of compassion and support. We at 7Cups believe in acknowledging and celebrating milestones, accomplishments, special moments, and days. Days like Birthdays and Cupsversay (Anniversary at 7Cups) are some of the most important days of our lives. We want to join in your celebration and celebrate you in our own style - the 7Cups way. We share love bombs, birthday wishes, shout-outs, cookies, cakes, glitter, and hugs. We come together to celebrate each other because you matter to us. You are a part of our community and we are blessed to have you. Thank you for being a 7 Cups resident. * If it is your birthday, please let us know here. * If it is the birthday of someone you know here, please share with us here. Also, we would love to hear how would you like to celebrate your birthday here on 7 Cups or any experiences of your birthday that you are comfortable sharing with us. Also, Do you know? * You can host a small party for your friend! A 15-30 min banner can be set by a mod in the community room so you can celebrate the birthday party. The party should not clash with any prior scheduled event (check tockify [https://www.7cups.com/home/communityCalendar.php]). Please reach out to the community mod on duty to let them know of the party and ask them to set an alert so more people can join in the fun. Both members and listeners can host, there are no requirements to who can throw a party! * You can also make a post for them Click here [https://www.7cups.com/forum/PositivityGratitude_170/HonoringBirthdaysCupversaries_179/] to see the forum section where you can make posts to celebrate birthdays. * Some rules to follow: 🎈 While it is okay to celebrate someone's special day, it is not okay to make others feel excluded. If someone is unaware of who is being celebrated, provide them some context and make an effort to include them. 🎈 All celebratory parties are public, this means anyone can join and they should be welcomed wholeheartedly. 🎈 The host who requested/set up the banner is required to stay for the whole party and ensure that everyone present feels welcomed and included. While it can be a good idea to show your appreciation and acknowledgment through such events but please don't feel pressured to host or attend any party. This is just an option for those interested. If your birthday is coming up and you want to throw yourself a party, that is also perfectly okay! We encourage and celebrate self-care and self-love. Let's work together to make each other's special days more fun! Happy Birthday, fellow cupser. I wish you a lovely birthday and a thriving year filled with joy and accomplishments.

A Story of "A Father, A son, and The Sky"
by brightOcean1599

...See more Hey Everyone 👋 I hope you all are doing well! 😊 I have been here for some time, and I wanted to share a small story with you all. This story feels relevant and is close to my heart. Here it is... ------------------------- A Father, A son, and The Sky  On one late breezy evening, under a vast sparkling sky, a father and his little son sat together on a hill beneath an old tree. The moon was shining brightest over everything, and the world felt peaceful and still. The boy leaned back to his father, gazing up at the sky above his head with utter curiosity. “Papa,” he said softly, breaking the silence. “Why do we like looking at the sky so much? I feel like, I could stare at it forever and never get bored of it.” The father smiled and looked up. “That’s because the sky holds something greater than stars and planets. It reminds us of an invisible power that watches over us, guiding and protecting us. The sky is everywhere, just like this power. It’s always there, always watching.” The boy’s eyes shone widened. “So… this power never rests? It doesn't get tired ever?” The father chuckled. “No, it doesn’t need to rest. This power watches over us because it cares deeply. It sees when we choose kindness and honesty, and when we make choices that might hurt others. Depending on what we choose, it helps us by bringing us good things or teaching us lessons when we stray.” The boy thought for a moment, the moonlight reflecting in his eyes. Asked, “But how will I know what’s good and what’s bad?” The father placed his hand on the boy's shoulder gently. “Good things make people happy. They mean not hurting anyone, not taking what doesn’t belong to us, and always telling the truth. Bad things are the opposite, they bring hurt or sadness. It’s simple. When you’re doing something, ask yourself, ‘Will this make someone smile or cause them pain?’ If it makes them smile, it’s good; if not, think twice.” The boy nodded, deep in thought. “So if I choose to do good things, does the invisible power reward me?" “Yes,” the father replied gently. “It will be very pleased. Rewards might come in ways you don’t expect. You might feel happier, sleep more peacefully, or someday when you need kindness, someone will be there for you. Kindness and goodness always have a way of finding their way back to us.” The boy looked back up at the sky, smiled, and said, “I want to do more good things" Feeling warmth in his heart, the father looked at his son with pride. “That’s a beautiful choice. Remember, no matter how big or small, every act of goodness is like a tiny light in the world. And together, all those little lights make it as bright and beautiful as the night sky.” They stayed there a little longer, enjoying the view of the stellar sky. *The image used here is generated through AI. Thanks for reading! Let me remind you that this fictional story has a part of what I heard as a child, I have added some things to it further. Do let me know, “What does the idea of an ‘invisible power’ or a guiding force mean to you? Do you have anything that inspires or guides your choices?” 🌠

...See more It’s easy to feel overwhelmed when things aren’t going our way but it’s important to remember that even on tough days, there’s always a silver lining. Whether it’s a kind word from a friend, a moment of laughter, or simply enjoying a beautiful sunset, small joys can make a big difference. So, let’s try to find the good in each day, no matter how small it seems. Celebrating those little wins can make a big difference! ✨❤️ What’s something good you experienced today?  I’d love to hear your stories and celebrate those little joys together!

...See more Love is sacrificing lower for the higher. Love is selflessness. Love is taking pain to give joy. Love is having a big heart of tolerance and forgiveness. Love is guidance without imposing. Love is remaining detached and doing the best for all. Love is experiencing independent and causeless joy within yourself. Attachment is working "for joy", whereas love is working "out of joy". Love is striving to replace bad habits with good ones. Love is being regular in doing some chosen good engagements every day. Love is thinking and understanding better the wise ways of living. Love is having faith in someone noble and seeking their company very often. Love is doing something difficult every day, because it's good for you. Love is accepting mistakes and not justifying them. Love is believing that one day I will be a better human being, a more fulfilled and content being. Love is treating someone else's pain as yours, and your own pain less important than theirs. Loving is losing oneself for higher values and virtues! In this losing, one wins and finds oneself. Will add more reflections on more topics in response to this thread!
Daily Meditations by Marcus Aurelius - #4 (This is a BIGG one)

...See more "At dawn, when you have trouble getting out of bed, tell yourself: “I have to go to work—as a human being. What do I have to complain of, if I’m going to do what I was born for—the things I was brought into the world to do? Or is this what I was created for? To huddle under the blankets and stay warm?” —But it’s nicer here.… So you were born to feel “nice”? Instead of doing things and experiencing them? Don’t you see the plants, the birds, the ants and spiders and bees going about their individual tasks, putting the world in order, as best they can? And you’re not willing to do your job as a human being? Why aren’t you running to do what your nature demands? —But we have to sleep sometime.… Agreed. But nature set a limit on that—as it did on eating and drinking. And you’re over the limit. You’ve had more than enough of that. But not of working. There you’re still below your quota. You don’t love yourself enough. Or you’d love your nature too, and what it demands of you. People who love what they do wear themselves down doing it, they even forget to wash or eat. Do you have less respect for your own nature than the engraver does for engraving, the dancer for the dance, the miser for money or the social climber for status? When they’re really possessed by what they do, they’d rather stop eating and sleeping than give up practicing their arts. Is helping others less valuable to you? Not worth your effort?" - Marcus Aurelius, Meditations, Book 5:1 ------------------------- Welcome back to another day with me where I share snippets from the book called "Meditations". Today's quote is the single most inspired thing I happened to read (I would've tattooed it if it weren't too darn long). Now if you feel confused about above quote, here's some explanation, Meditations book is basically journal kept by MA, everything he thought, he wrote it down, here we can see one of the journaling techniques he used where he is having conversation with his own thoughts and trying figure out the way. It’s a powerful reminder of our responsibility to engage with life and fulfill our roles as human beings. It’s true that passion can drive us to the point of exhaustion, but that’s the beauty of doing what we love. 💚 Stay Awesome!  - Kabir

...See more All you need are these: certainty of judgment in the present moment; action for the common good in the present moment; and an attitude of gratitude in the present moment for anything that comes your way. — Marcus Aurelius, Meditations, 9.6 ------------------------- This is day 2 of me posting some snippets from the book "Meditations" by Marcus Aurelius. Today is about gratitude and how it is important in our daily lives. Sometimes being thankful to anything is enough for us to remind that we are present in the moment and it gives a little shot of dopamine.  Here's #1 post [https://www.7cups.com/forum/motivation/InspirationandMotivation_2229/DailyMeditationsbyMarcusAurelius1_336307/] for those who wanna read it, (I explain more about the book in this post, so recommended)
Reflection Question: Am I flexible enough to change my mind and accept feedback?
by kabir22

...See more What title says "Am I flexible enough to change my mind and accept feedback?" Think & Reflect, Looking forward to your thoughts! ------------------------- My Thoughts: Flexibility is often easier said than done. I've been reflecting on moments when feedback challenged my perspective, pushing me to reconsider my approach. There were times when it was difficult to let go of my initial ideas, but in hindsight, embracing change often led to growth, deeper insights, and improved outcomes. However, I also wonder—how often do I genuinely remain open versus simply nodding along? How do you all navigate feedback that's hard to hear? Do you have any strategies or moments when shifting your mindset truly benefited you? ------------------------- And I'm so thankful for those who shared their experiences with previous reflection question, it was great to read through all of them and knowing how one can overcome adversities with some humor.  For those who are new to this post, Hi and you can check previous post out here: Where can I learn to laugh rather than cry? ...See more "Someday we'll look back on this time and wonder how we got through it. I have no idea how we'll do it, we just had to so we did." Continuing to push through when you don't want to, is a choice, *you* make, that's how you'll get through it. Through believing in yourself when you feel you don't have a reason to, by keeping the glimmer of hope alive in your heart when you've lost what it means to be hopeful and by crawling forward when you were stuck to even consider a direction! Spoiler alert: but *you* are the fuel that'll drive you through! And so, make it through, not because others tell you to but because you've got to tell yourself someday that you did, that you didn't give up on yourself when no one else held your hand. Make it through, for you, because you're the best freaking thing ever happened to you, and the world, there was room for you here that's why you're here, there is need for you here and that's why you're here, you are worthy of existence, of admiration, of kindness, of love and that's also why you're here~ amongst the bright galaxies, the magical mountains and the serene rivers~ because though, the world looked spectacular as is with all the natural wonders, it still wasn't complete without *you*, the most special wonder, who makes it whole with their mere presence. Your purpose in life isn't just to question meaning for your life, because it was always there. We don't question the Sun about why it chooses to rise from the East, we accept it as a universal fact! You know what else is a universal fact? That you were always meant to be here, that you are a worthy presence as you are, that you have everything in you that you'll ever need to be here. That you are accepted, you are valid, you're loved as you are with a significant space in the universe only reserved for you and no one gets to question it otherwise, because this *(yo)UnIverse* is certainly inclusive of (you) and I, without you, it'll never be whole, nor the same.💛
