@ASilentObserver

I would like to say thank you to everyone here. But my journey is to finish college and be able to help others in need. And here, with all your help, it helps me to make that journey a lot easier and manageable. I am proud to have people like you to stand by me and others in the program; we all could not have done it without the staff here at 7 Cups.

personal growth, and better relationship with friends and partner i guess, i know it's a tad bit general xd. steps can vary from listening to a podcast to getting help from therapy

@daydreammemories I am glad you are considering personal growth and improving your relationships. It is a journey, not a destination, and even small steps can make a big difference.

How I see taken the steps is to continue with volunteer work and continue with college. Then hoping to be able to move to a new location to help my work performance. To gain the knowledge and the step to be a better person and learn to talk with others as I move on with my goals and education.

@ASilentObserver

2025: I want to make it through my first year of teaching, get back into a healthy creative/exercise/sleeping groove, make a new friend, get sober, and finish writing my novel.

So far I'm about half way through the school year already somehow, I'm going to take several art classes, I'm going back to therapy and psychiatry, I'm on a get sober app and on my 2nd day not drinking, I wrote poetry all day yesterday, and I got slightly better sleep last night. So far, so good, even if I have a long way to go.

Don't know how to make friends (I've tried classes and meetup groups and hangouts and church groups) or fit exercise into my teaching days or finish writing my novel when it gives me so much anxiety.

@joyfulUs2825 I can understand and relate to have a fear of birds, even if it seems a bit unusual. Please know fears can come from all sorts of places, sometimes without a clear origin.

I am glad you are acknowledging this fear and it is the first step towards understanding and potentially overcoming it.

My goal this year is to remain resilient and consistent. I trust that despite any obstacles that come my way I will be able to bounce back successfully. I believe this mindset will help me grow both personally and professionally this year. I am looking forward to going back to school for a continuing education course as well.

One of my goals is to become a certified peer specialist. I have been out of the workforce for a while due to relocation to another country, and since volunteering here at 7 Cups, I have found this type of work fulfilling. I am currently enrolled in various courses and plan to take the certification test in the spring/summer.

I just want to get through this year, my stifling job, the classes I'm in to get out of the stifling job...

I'd like to have a job where I don't feel like I'm a glorified organic computer. A position where I can take breaks or a day off and not be behind when I come back. A position where things done right are recognized instead of nit-picking on minute errors and blowing them out of proportion...

@Enthenia Of course. It's good that you recognize that you deserve better and you are taking steps to a better future for yourself. Good decision. I wish you good luck.

@determinedSea4370 thanks! Really don't know where I'm going after school. I just don't want to be with this organization long-term. When I first started, I thought I could but not now. Which is a shame because the office is close to home

@ASilentObserver it's more like frustration over two sets of rules. Like today I was told I shouldn't have put an alert on something because it was added to another report (which I didn't know. I went off the spreadsheet I was told to reference) so now I'm an idiot again.

I totally should know when someone goes in after the fact and adds information. And, if I say anything to the contrary, I'm argumentative.

@joyfulUs2825 thanks. Most of the time, I don't have the time for anything else. Today it's a little better. Got through 174 customer names in two days (had to pull two reports each) and now I'm trying to figure out a report someone else pulled the data for that I'm supposed to do a follow-up on. Not sure if that makes any sense.

But, I have three small things to do and then I can shift back to my assignments. If I can get two submitted this week, I'll be on track.

Can't do much at home with her about...

I have a lot of dreams for my future but the one I'm working on the most right now is becoming fluent in Spanish. I try to work towards my goal every day, whether it's doing a lesson in a language learning app or just learning a new vocabulary word in Spanish and using it in a sentence. I really want to become multilingual and speak several different languages so sometimes I get frustrated with how slow my Spanish learning is going but I have to remind myself to be patient and just focus on the present. As long as I keep working towards my goal, I know I'll make it :)

@annabanabread Becoming fluent in a language takes a lot of patience! But, it seems that ypu've got the right routine and right mentality. I wish you good luck!

@determinedSea4370 it does! I've been doing Italiano and Spanish for a couple of years. I can't really speak Italian (the app I use doesn't like how I say the words) but I'm getting better at listening! I think I did a listening exercise today and I had to slow the spreed on two or three sentences (usually it's half).

I do better with Spanish.

@annabanabread That is fantastic, anna. I am glad you are approaching it with the right mindset. Though I get it how it feels frustrating when progress is slow. But know you are resilient and you got this.

@annabanabread

You know AB....you've inspired me on this!  I too would love to speak certain languages.  One of which I went to an evening course.  Others I've dabbled with online options.

I think I'll work on that this weekend 👍😊🤗🤗
