Stop thinking about the small details all the time and more about the overall big picture to keep myself at ease when things start to seem overwhelming

turquoiseAcres4830 September 18th, 2020

I can say today that i am safe from abuse. And i am ready to work on myself again. Another chunk to bite off. To get deeper into healing. To face the demons and learn they were just shadows I couldnt put away. To reach out and become more of the me i thought i lost. I didn't lose her, i burried her somewhere beneath the brick wall i created to pretend i was safe. To move 1 more foot closer to freedom and loving not merely existing. Today I am safe.

I may not be well. Or whole or normal. I may not have the fantasy life i imagine with friends and all that jazz yet. I may be lonely much of the time. Baby steps i guess.

But today i am safe. I have that. And that is profound.

Marie1202 October 15th, 2020

All of you here are so amazing and so inspiring! I truly hope that all of you continue to complete your goals and make significant milestones; you all deserve nothing but happiness.

And as for me, I'm also working on some personal goals, including raising my grades for school and working on my internship here at 7 Cups (which I am doing quite well on at the moment).

Rather than my formerly frequent dream of losing my luggage, I had a dream where my baggage was at my relative's home. At least I know where to go for finding my baggage in my dream. It is a great relief to avoid night frights. That was my milestone.

This sounds so small but I finally have nails that are nice and grown. When I was younger and even up to recently, I would bite my nails when nervous or anxious, and I am finally at a stage where that is not a problem. People even complement my nails. I feel like it sounds silly or materialistic, but it is so nice to feel this way as I never thought I would be out of a stage of having raw bitten nails, or even that my nails would be pretty. It has made me happy.
