@GlenM

I learned while listening, from the many different kinds of people who come here for support, that there is no one way to address the same issue. Three people may be struggling from depression brought on by work issues, but each individual needs a different approach depending on who they are and how they reach out. My hardest listening session was with someone who knew they needed to talk, but didn't know how to. This is hard enough in person, but over the computer it seemed almost impossible. When I finally had him talking and crying even, I felt an overwhelming sense of accomplishment and just felt good. I did not help them work out there issues, they still had them when they left the conversation, but I gave them a place to open up and get some emotions out, and that can be bigger then we can even imagine.

@GlenM I didn't know I had a problem with my emotions. I thought I was ok in that area. I thought having problems with emotions meant getting mad at someone who hasn't done anything to you or fighting a total stranger or something like that. I still have a lot to learn which is difficult.

@affectionateCat9553 - I think ... Learning what you still have yet to learn is a sign of wisdom. Saying "Wow, I do not know everything about ___!" even if only to yourself, can be empowering.

I agree it can also feel like, "Well gee, I don't know anything." Or "I thought I knew stuff about _____ but I just found out I know like three chapters of a fifty-chapter book of that subject!"

As you can and at your pace, I'd encourage you to keep learning! Learning about emotions (feelings) can be really hard; but it can also be really satisfying! Like finally having a word to match with the 'oh you know, the way you feel when (enter complicated situation or event) ??' Keep going, dear @affectionateCat9553 ! You got this! :) ~Platy

@GlenM

something i learned is that not everyone could be friend with you, they might not be the right one for you, so don't envious others that got a lot of friends, makes a few friend that are really nice and you like to be with them to be friend.
