@GlenM That there are multiple fast relaxation excersizes that work
I've realised that one thing I want most in the world right now is for my best friend to love himself as much as I love him, and I guess he probably wishes the same for me, maybe.
I want him to love himself more, he probably wants me to love myself more too. So that's what I'm working on - I've realised the importance of self-love in all its colours and shades.
I used to think that selflessness was the way forward. It's so admirable, kind, heroic ect, and it is, don't get me wrong. But there's nothing heroic about sacrificing your mental health for other people. There's a line
Ive been dealing with something pretty severe anxiety and depression. It feels like nothing will help. A few months ago it got to the point I was feeling hopeless, convinced that theres was no point in living anymore if I never was going to get better. Well, about a month ago I begrudgingly started seeing a therapist. Im not sure if its helping yet, but its a big step for me to actually seek professional help. @GlenM
I
@GlenM i have serve social anxiety, but i can help myself.
Today could be a Triple Crown day!
I'm currently at 4999 forum upvotes, have 5997 compassion hearts, and have gotten to 1500 growth steps!
I'm also on pace to get 3000 forum posts by the end of the week!
I'm not one to brag all this stuff up, but now I think it's time to celebrate!
Since I tend to consider emojis in posts and chats to me almost like an art form, here's one that fits this moment ...
Well, 3000 forum posts by the end of this week might be too much to expect with my work schedule, but it will likely happen by the end of this month, at least
@niceDaisy36
5000 forum post upvotes for us both, so its time to celebrate πππ₯³ππ
Ive also reached 3000 compassion hearts and 1500 growth steps. π
I want to make it clear, that I would not have made it this far without your friendship and the friendship of several others here as well. π I am thankful to everyone who has read and liked my writing enough to vote up my posts ... I really appreciate it. ππ It assures me that my goal of being a well-rounded supportive member here on 7 Cups is being appreciated ππ

@GlenM self talk is so vital
i learned to take care of myself even on the days im down
@turtlenie
Do u have any tips?
@courageousOrange7160 well i always felt that when i neglected to do self care like brushing my teeth i was treating myself in a way, avoiding doing the things i HAVE to do. but i realized that deep down i want to take care of myself, i want to shower and brush my teeth because deep within myself i dont want to be dirty or have a tooth ache or any of that stuff. and most importantly even if i feel horribly depressed and suicidal there is a part of me that wants to be alive and doesnt want to feel that way
and i need to try to nourish it as best i can no matter how hard it is
i hope that helps!
@turtlenie Thank you! I started a habiy tracker for these kinds of things so that even if I dont feel good someyimes, it reminds me to take care of myself too! Thanks again!
Every setback and challenge is a learning experience which can lead to powerful insights and preparation for personal and spiritual growth.
