What is the thing that depression effects the most in your life?
It affects me in many ways, many terrible ways, but I think I've lost my motivation the most.
motivation will return but it's a fight. fight for yourself. small steps and give yourself praise for the smallest things@AnxiousLesbianPuppy
@AnxiousLesbianPuppy A lack of motivation can suck sometimes, especially when you want to do something but don't have the energy to. It must be hard feeling that way a lot. if you did have the motivation, what would you want to do?
Stay safe,
Donni
@fantasticFish28
I don't know what I would want to do... I would probably finish my cosplays I've started or get homework done. Or just have a better time with the energy I could have. Thanks for asking!
@AnxiousLesbianPuppy Ooh, your cos plays sound super cool. Would you like to tell me a bit more about them? I don't know much about cos play and i'm eager to learn :)

Here are some pictures of mine:
I was Fiona the human from Adventure Time
Depression has taken away everything that I used to like to do, and my motivation is gone. It took away my ability to succeed in the activities I once enjoyed.
@lightTortoise1929 It must be disappointing feeling like you have no motivation to do anything. If you don't mind me asking, what activities did you use to enjoy?
Stay safe,
Donni
I think the thing that depression effects the most is your ability to cope with certain situations such as school and family life. For all you out there that are going through depression, I'd like you to hold on because everything gets better. I promise you this out of personal experience.
Depression eats aways my motivation to move forward or to figure out a solution for the problem I'm facing. It's like you're mentally tied to your problem with ropes for depression and you lose your motivation to do something about it.
It affects my motivation, my self worth and consequently how I view others.
I read most of the replies on this thread and it hurts and pains me because it all seems to be so true. I have depression wreck my life and self-esteem. I have felt most days trying to hurt myself. I feel pain and numb interchangeably. I have to actively do something everyday to keep my emotions and be happy. It just seemed really difficult, like a chore. Like life has given up on you.
@adoredHug70
Hey there. They are some of the dark times you are describing. There are always better days. We live with depression for ever but we don't have to feel that way all our life.
Start with something simple and then make bigger changes. Talk talk talk and find people who understand.
And there is ALWAYS 7cups.!
@JK17
I know it doesn't seem much. But you are right. I try to do small things daily to keep me up.
Well first my relationships all of em including my boy friend and family I don't talk very much anymore. I'm always canceling plans at last minute with everyone I isolate myself I have theese panic attack so bad some times I have to go to the hospital I don't talk to anyone and my social life is suffering
@sensibleKite4181
Give yourself time Kite. If you are isolating yourself that can be a habit hard to break because it serves a purpose to make you feel safe. Try and challenge those thoughts because I'm sure there are people who love you and want you with them and can make you feel safe too.
Focus on one relationship at a time. Dont think about things in terms of 'everyone'
College and studies.
I was a bright student, always eager to score more. But then I just stopped caring about anything. I didn't know where to go and what to do with my life. I've wasted so much time. Yeah, there are days where I feel super motivated and all but it just doesn't last long enough and I'm back in my dark place.
@Flynnko543
Hey there. One of the hardest things to deal with is the loss of motivation especially if you had it before.
Use whatever you can to succeed. Other people to help or small goals leading to bigger ones. Be patient life is long.
Review how you measure success now too. Living with depression sometimes it is not realistic to aim high until your foundation is stronger.
probably my motivation the most. i end up so unmotivated to do the things i need to do each day
@caringShoulder14
My mental ability.. ..
@caringShoulder14 Aww, I can understand how the lack of motivation could have affected you by quite a bit :-/ It is one of the highly challenging aspects that one face and it gets even more overwhelming as things pile up further for you. It might be helpful to set small helpful goals for yourself and try to celebrate every little goals that you have accomplished for yourself and work up from there. Hope it gets better for you with time!
