mine has taught me how to be much more patient and slow down for life moments. through him, i understand mindfulness in a way i can practice easily 🥰
Thank for sharing. He's got nice colouration. Mindfulness is something I practice myself. And I think a pet would help me do that.
@Heather225
he or she very cute has good color too. for a time i worked at Walmart in the pets. at time they had birds for sale. i can relate to what you said about the bird teaching you mindfulness. we also learned to slow down with the cat we have now due to her being mistreated before we got her too. yes pets help a lot. seem they also understand our emotions a lot too.

Our pit bull Harley gives me joy and happiness. She knows when I am not feeling good or having an off day and I need to nap. She will lay beside me and place her paw on my hand and give me wet slobber kisses.
She is a princess who is loved by anyone she encounters
Aww that's so nice to hear.
Part of the reason I've been on the fence with getting a puppy is due to mental health struggles. And not being sure if I was having an off day and needed to nap, whether it would be barking and wanna play constantly. I wanna meets it's needs. But at the same time I know I need to be considerate of my own. Any thoughts or ideas on that I'd been interested to hear. Thank you for sharing 😊
I think giving love in general to any being, is very fulfilling. Seeing those innocent souls makes me feel the urge to always take care of them and ensure they are good <3

hi i am new here, but i have a cat named paw paws she a emotional support animal. for me she so special and helps me so very much. she saved my life 4 times in past. she woke me up in the night each time by putting her paw under my bi-pap this woke me up fast. the times she did this were when my blood sugar was low that was two times, other time was when i had a reaction to a new medication we had and the other time was when we had reaction to a new insulin we was given. she also know it seem who out in our system and what they need to feel safe. she know when we lonely and will come up to us lick our hand and allow us to pet her. we not allow our self to cry much at all. due to our past. but when one of us is crying she come close to us even lets us cry into her fur. she also seems to know when we dizzy and need to sit down so we not fall. she will get between our legs and not move until we sit or lay down. so she in many ways help us. we live alone and she seem to be only one who cares a lot of the time too.
Hey Stormie, it was lovely to hear of your relationship with your cat. Paw Paws sounds like a great pet and a great friend. Thank you for sharing. It's really inspiring to hear how she takes care of you.
@Drifterbynature
thank you we take care of each other. she was abused in shelter. when i got her she could make no cat sounds and would not come close to anyone. the not making cat sounds come from being taken away from her mom to soon. the abuse was we think someone hitting her with a cane or broom. she scared of both them. so i think i saw a lot of me in her. so with love and care she became my best friend. she happy has a good life now. so think that partly why she take so good care of me. sad that people hurt animals just due to the color of their fur. she looks black but when laying in the sun one can see she dark coco. she a blessing to me in so many ways.
@stormieandpaws
It's really nice to hear you take care of each other. It's sad to hear how animals can be treated so badly. I cannot conceive of the mind of such people personally. I think animals, like humans, when they learn to trust someone after they've suffered bad treatment, they have a lot of love to give. Thank you again for sharing. I find stories like yours encouraging 😊
Ok so my cat... Oh man... I saved him at birth and bottle fed him and loved him regardless of how terrible he was to me. (I was afraid to even exist with him in the same house at one point) He was my furry little terrorist. I ended up moving to my dad's house for a little while and he became their cat (you know how parents are) I said fine you can have him he hates me anyways. They recently moved and I ended up keeping their house (and all of there animals -15 outside cats) now that I'm the only one feeding him SURPRISE he loves me now haha. He has so much personality and he's a talker for sure. Sometimes when I'm outside I'll be crying for one reason or the next and he'll always find me. I'll tell him hey buddy... What are you doing can't you see I'm trying to cry in peace...and he'll nuzzle me and make me feel a little better... He greets me frequently in the morning before I leave demanding food and when I get home from work... More food lol. He still bites me from time to time but.... He's cute so there's that lol
Thank you for sharing. Respect for keeping at it. And it's good to hear hr seems to have calmed abit. 15 outside cats? How does that work for you?
@Drifterbynature I'm constantly buying cat food lol
@LovelyForever6990
aww he very cute cat. i have bottle feed many cats and other animals too. they like humans have at time attachment issues and other issues. but with love and good care most them come around too. growing up my grandparents lived next door. at one point they had about 100 cats. due to people dumping off cats. but they feed them and cared for them too. every animal deserves to be cared for and feed. so cool you doing that for the outside cats and inside ones too.
@Drifterbynature
In bed a lot dealing with chronic illness but my two kittens love to sit on me and cuddle 🥰
She's a working dog so she's a lot more active than what I'm used to. She's also only 19 months old. There was a period of adjustment for me and the cat but she keeps us busy!
Thank you for sharing Enthenia. I'd be interested to hear more about the "adjustments" you mentioned. Only if you are happy to do so. It could be helpful for me as I'm trying to work out whether a dog or a cat would be a more realistic choice for me, especially with my health conditions. No pressure to share though 😊
I have a little rat terrier mix and he is the sweetest thing. He greets us at the door by bearing his teeth in a smile and washing his entire butt. He will like my tears off my face and paw at my chest whenever I'm crying. We rescued him from an abusive family. He has been with is for just over 3 years now. His name is Tucker
@Drifterbynature
I think animals and pets can have such an impact on peoples wellbeing overall. I find so much comfort on the unconditional love of my dogs, they don't need to know why I'm excited but if I am they will match my level and be excited with me. The fact that they comfort me if i'm upset and etc etc is something i value a lot.
Thanks for sharing Blossom. That is really cool. It is awesome how they can pick up on our energy. And yeah that comfort is super special😊

not long ago we read a study on emotional support animals. was amazing what was said about pets being intuited to their owners emotional state at any time. them know when master needed them to help with there emotions. even to help when a person was having flashbacks or depression etc. my cat live with me and is a emotional support pet. what nice about this is we not have to pay a pet deposited. also the monthly pet fee. this is also why we able to have her.
