1)The article I chose is Coping with Job Loss by Julie Ford. Here is the link:

https://www.7cups.com/experts/article/coping-with-job-loss

2)The first top strength is the utilization of empathy. At the beginning of the article, the author talked about how much energy and investment goes into working a job 8 hours a day and five days a week. The author also mentions people's feelings when they lose their job. I could tell that the author really understands what it's like to have a job and then lose it.

The second top strength is hyperlinking sources. The author hyperlinked a lot of words to lead back to sources and also give the reader more information.

The third top strength is utilizing an expert quote to back up the author’s statement and add value to the article.

3)Expertise: The author used a quote from a psychologist/author. The author also has a passion for mental health advocacy and has experience with mental health conditions. She also has 20 years of writing experience.

Authority: The author has five other articles that she has written on 7 Cups. One of her articles talks about the signs and symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). She also has an article on co-parenting.

Trust: The author has written articles for different publications. She also has good quality content in her articles. I could tell that she spent time gathering the information and writing in a way to help people cope with job loss.

@SoulfullyAButterfly

1. The article I read was How to stop Negative Thinking part 1 and 2.

2. I believe that the article is empowering as it is focussed on identifying negative thoughts with a view to reframing them in a positive light in order to help the reader to produce an overall positive mindset.
The author has shown empathy by mentioning that the negative thoughts affect many people and that it is only natural to feel this way; however, he advised that you should look at overcoming the negative thoughts that are overtaking your life.
I believe that the language used in the article is conversational and accessible. Although the wording is very
professional in nature, it is written in a way that can be understandable to any reader, as if they are having an insightful conversation with a good friend.

3. EAT
Expertise
The content of the article is comprehensive yet digestible. The author has listed a lot of information for the reader; however, the content is very relatable and he has done a great job of including examples for clear understanding. Many headings and short paragraphs have also helped to achieve this.

Authority
The author is a highly experienced mental health professional and he has done a great job of linking his material together with other expert articles that he has written. Twitter and Facebook have also been successfully used to help further share
the outstanding content.
On the other hand, I did not see any references to boost
the authority from other professionals in the article.

Trust
Trust has been clearly established through the author's biography and the listing of the other numerous authoritarian articles that are linked to his profile.

3. Please find my graphic for the article below.

Your analysis of the article is constructive and cogent. You have summarized it well based on each criterion which I'm sure helps the author in their future writing and other writers who are looking to integrate EAT and best writing practices in their work. Your feedback is also useful that can possibly improve the article. As for your graphic, the colours do look pleasing, however, I would suggest giving a little oomph to it to further support the article - just as how good your analysis is. Good job!

p.s making graphics can be super hard for starters, but tools like Canva have helped me to play around creatively. Perhaps, external tools as such can be of help for you too.

@SoulfullyAButterfly

the article i read was called “how to trap depression”

Strengths

1)i loved in the beginning when the writer took the time to write a little breifing on what it feels like to live with depression using descriptive words such as its like being cold in the winter. Using as and like were huge for me

2)intead of stating just the symptoms of depression he wrote “indicators” as well!

3)I Thought it was amazing how he wrote three stories of famous people’s struggle stories with depression showing that even spotlight individual’s struggle as average everyday people too.

Expertise:

Used some great key words as well as hyper links.

Comment

1)Could have definitely made a better effort to name the qoutes he was writing.2) He definitely knew what he was doing overall with expertise though! Great job on that!!

Authority: shared his knowledge on depression and what he researched was very consistent with what added up.

Comment

1) did a great job on the evidence 2) and the subheading

Trust: Put three different stories of real life beings who have struggled with depression

comments 1) made sure that the famous people mattered with their depression 2) could have elaborated a little more, the “stories” were a tiny bit short for my liking. The audience’s needs more grab.
