Listener and Member Usernames Confidentiality (Guidelines)

...See more Safety and confidentiality go hand-in-hand on 7 Cups. Confidentiality refers to the state of information being kept secret or private. Examples of this are chat details, your personal information, and—yes!—your Cups identities. If you have a member and a listener account, you have two identities. This may not even have occurred to you, and when you made your second account you named it similarly to your own. Imagine if you had an account named CarebearListens7 and you named your member account CareBear7. It would not take much to connect the two. Another concern is the revealing of your names to others. It may not seem like a big deal to you. Maybe these people are your friends, but you can’t always be sure, so you need to prioritize your safety. Here's why keeping usernames different and private is crucial: * Privacy Power! 7 Cups doesn't show your real name, but if your username and listener's username are too close, someone might guess who you are. This is especially important if you're talking about something personal. * Safety First! If you ever need to report someone, it's important to stay anonymous. Similar usernames could make it easier for someone to figure out who you are. * Blurred boundaries: People who know you from the other account PMing you. It may seem fine at first but this can create big challenges with holding boundaries later on down the road. Switching between your listener (L) and member (M) accounts can blur the lines of what's expected in each role. When you’re under your listener account, you are to maintain professionalism. This can slip if you’re treating your L account like your M. Personal connections under your M can get mixed up if you’re using the accounts interchangeably. We have outlined the following guidelines to help you secure your confidentiality: * Usernames must not have any links or references to each other. You will be asked to change your username by an Admin. * Do not disclose your other account under any circumstances. This includes, but is not limited to casual mentions in rooms and PMing someone (yes, even a friend) under your other name. * Profile photos: these too much be separate. We also strongly recommend not using pictures that can be connected to you in any way by image searching. * Bios cannot look the same or point to the other account. (e.g. L referencing M or vice versa) * Do not share through imgbb, imgur, etc. pictures (like drawings or photos) that have also been posted in other places online. I hope these guidelines give you insight into the importance of safeguarding your online experience, especially here on 7 Cups! - If you’d like to learn more about our safety best practices: The Community Guidelines Series: Masterpost [https://www.7cups.com/forum/safe7cups/VISafetyMadeFunActivitiesandGamesSeries_2648/TheCommunityGuidelineSeriesMasterpost_327875/] (written by @AnnaSilverberg) My Experiences with Offsite Contact [https://www.7cups.com/forum/safe7cups/IVSafetyResourcesEvents_1059/MyExperienceswithOffsiteContact_317308/] (Written by Safety Ambassador @Rebekah) Please also add what you've learned to spread awareness in our interactive post: Safety is an Ongoing Conversation [https://www.7cups.com/forum/safe7cups/SafetyForumDiscussions_2662/Safetyisanongoingconversation_331502/]

Feature Update: Forum Threads
by Heather225

...See more Hi, everyone. I know it’s been a difficult few days for the forum users. I have been in a couple of threads dropping updates. Our engineering team has been working on a way to fix database scaling issues. It's common in technology that fixing one problem can inadvertently create a new one, considering the interconnected nature of complex systems. I am eternally grateful for your patience and I can now say we’ve got good news! Engineering has come up with a brand new version of the threads that should balance performance with usability. It should resolve loading issues, allow access to entire threads quickly, and have all the parent-child threads open by default (you can simply click to collapse the threads you don’t want to see below the user’s name). The changes have just gone live. Explore the new design and lemme know if you encounter any technical trouble. Thanks again for hanging in there with us and I hope this change creates a more enjoyable and supportive experience for the forum space.

Sexting and flirting at 7 Cups
by Laura
Last post
October 17th
...See more Hello Everyone! I want to discuss an important topic that is particularly relevant to our community. I understand that there may be some confusion on this topic and I wanted to tackle it head on! Please review carefully! Topic: Sexting and flirting at 7 Cups. What is sexting? Sexting is having sex over text message. --> Behaviors associated with sexting: 1) Engaging in sex acts on 7 cups 2) inviting another user to engage in sex acts in both explicit and non-explicit ways What is flirting? Flirting involves verbal or written communication as well as body language by one person to another, suggesting an interest in a deeper relationship with the other person. --> Behaviors associated with flirting: 1) Telling another user in the chat room that you like their profile picture and commenting on another users appearance. Even if you believe you are being kind, this is not appropriate. Note: I'd like to clarify that it's one thing to say "oh hey new picture! Looks nice!" This is very friendly. But it's another to constantly make comments on appearance or make suggestive comments on appearance. These will not be tolerated. 2) Using the kissy faces in reference to a users comment or in a way that suggests you are interested in them in ways beyond friends. 7 Cups Site Policy on Sexting & Flirting At 7 Cups, we have a zero tolerance policy for both of these behaviors in the forums, 1-1 chats (both Member/guest - listener & listener - listener). It's simply not what we are here for and it can be very hurtful to the person on the other side of the chat window. We are a compassionate, support network and we have no space for these behaviors. In fact, these behaviors work against us. They distract us from our mission. Special notice to feminine presenting users: I know that everyone can be vulnerable to be on the receiving ends of these behavior. But the vast majority of the incoming reports signify that feminine presenting users are more likely to be targeted. Therefore, Id like to give a little notice specifically to this specific group. I want you all to feel empowered. If you are asked to engage in a sexual chat, please remove yourself immediately and report that user. If this happens to you, you may feel uncomfortable or unsafe and that is understandable. Please take a self-care break, find a peer supporter or log on to your member account, but please know, we are actively working to remove these users from the community. If you see something, say something & protect yourself. Here is what we will be doing to continue to remove & discourage these behaviors in our community: 1) Group support/ listener side chat rooms: warning system in place 2) Added censoring from the Member/Guest side. Note: We have no intention of hindering any member/guest ability to discuss a sexual problem. We will not censor specific words. Instead, we will censor specific phrases in which the context is clearly indicated. 3) Noni tip early presented early in the chat 4) Further language around the website (when you press the connect now button/ listener training)..etc. which works to further emphasize this point. 5) More education and culture building ( I hope to do a community discussion on this topic soon) Thanks everyone!
7 Cups Behavior Reporting Process & Tracking - Updated Version
by ASilentObserver
Last post
August 5th
...See more All, The post below outlines an updated behavior reporting process! We had originally launched this in 2016 and we are now updating it and re-emphasizing it as we move forward. Our objective to streamline the process and keep you well informed. Not many people struggle with a number of behavior points, but for people that do, we want to ensure that you can take steps to improve your behavior and be part of the community. We are figuring out the best ways to manage unhelpful & un-supportive behaviors on 7 Cups. Once you have reviewed the entire post, please ask any questions or share your constructive thoughts. This process is designed to provide you an opportunity to improve. We do not have any intentions to punish anyone but we do need to keep people accountable for their behavior. It is your community and how you behave, impacts it as well. Our purpose is to provide a better help & support and compassionate environment to all. We all want to be part of a community that fosters high warmth and high expectations. It is the best way to lead a community because everyone deserves support and compassion. Growing a plant, for example, requires a lot of effort, care, and the right treatment. Not every plant growth is similar but the basic process is somewhat the same. Suitable environment, the right proportion of soil, water, sunlight. Knowing the right conditions is significant for a seed to grow into a beautiful plant. Similarly for a community: If you have high warmth but low expectations, then structure or its culture is low. If you have low warmth and high expectations, then it has a structure, but limited reliability and safety. If you have low warmth and low expectations, then neither has a structure nor culture. If you have high warmth and high expectations, it has structure and reliability and safety. So here we are focused on providing both so that the community can have increased trust, support, culture, safety, and compassion. A few points to keep in mind when reading the below: * We believe in second chances. We know and understand no one is perfect and can improve. But, we need to understand when you have an opportunity to improve, you strive to improve and show that you improved. Value the opportunities you have. * We believe in inclusivity. We welcome all constructive feedback. Because we are also not perfect and striving to improve. Feedback is a two-way process. Ensure to provide feedback in a compassionate, constructive, and respectful manner. * We believe in accountability. Everyone is responsible and accountable for their actions. Because action has a reaction and impacts someone. We are in a community setup, so how you act impacts community activities. If you are supportive, the activities flow in a positive way. If you act unsupportive, the activity flow gets interrupted. * We believe transparency is helpful. As a community member, it is your right to know what is happening with the reports and how it gets processed. So, we want to provide better transparency in our actions in this system. However, there are also natural limitations too. We will not be able to share or disclose in detail with the community at large things that are happening on an individual basis. Because a wise person said, Praise in public, criticize in private. We want to give everyone a second chance to improve and feel encouraged to improve. The below behavior rating system has been specifically designed to meet the community's needs. We considered all inputs and tried to include all that was feasible to add. As you review this post, please remember this is a work in progress and always be updated as per the community's needs. Please share all constructive feedback, inputs, and ideas on what is missing or what does not make sense and what can be done. Introduction The aim of this guide is to provide information and to help you understand how the Behavioral Points System would work. What is the Behavioral Rating System? It is a process we would be used to assign points based on the infractions they did in the community at a point in time. Every time, they commit a violation, they will be getting points assigned and informed through email so they know what violations they did, and what points assigned to them for the violations. So they can have the opportunity to learn from the mistakes they made and improve. But if they do not improve and they cross the threshold, they will face consequences. This is modeled after other point systems like having a driving license in the US. If a person drives in a safe and smart manner (they are a good member), then they will receive no points. If they drive through stop signs, then they get a point. If they drive dangerously, then they get more points. If a person accrues enough points, then they are required to go to driving school. If they still do not improve then they can lose their license and no longer drive. It is a systematic process where all reports will be included for a user. How does it work? * The system will be applicable to both listeners and members. * Each behavior report or flagged forum thread will be evaluated using the below point criteria. Points are cumulative. * Each point expires 6 months after it was earned. * If no reports within three months from the date of action, an 80% reduction in the points. Note: One can be able to apply for a leadership role. This includes Mentor roles, teen star, group mod, peer support, and project agent roles. * If zero reports within a month from the date of action, 40% reduction in the behavior score. Applicability of the system: The process will be applicable moving forward. It won't consider past reports. Except for the reports which are severe. It will be up to the Community Management Teams' decision for those reports. How reports are filed? Reports filed via specific behavior reports: The incoming report will be reviewed by the concerned team. It will be reviewed for accuracy and if one of the below behaviors is identified the following actions will be taken: The authority sends a warning message to the reported user letting them know about the report. If the user would like to provide their side of the story, they will be invited to do that. Point(s) will be assigned if the user assumes responsibility for the action and agrees that it happened. The authority will let the user know the point has been assigned. If the user does not accept responsibility for the behavior and the evidence that the behavior did occur is clear, point(s) will be assigned. It is requested of all reporters that they submit relevant screenshots to prove their accusations for a user. All points will be tallied and tracked on the community management team's backend panel. Dates will be logged to monitor the timing. Please click here for more information on how to provide constructive feedback. Though, if the same behavior is found in other parts of the community as well, the points and consequences will be applicable. Zero Points Behavior. They are applicable for the first instance only. If the behavior continues, the points will be assigned according to the severity of the reported behavior. Except for a few specific behaviors that are subjected only to listeners. All other behaviors are subject to both listeners and members of the community. Adult Teen Listeners- In case of violations, the badge and access will be removed instantly. Below you will find the corresponding consequences of the above behaviors. Red Flag Offenses: Forum Spam - If you are repeatedly spamming the forums with inappropriate content or advertisements you or your account may be removed Post inappropriate or graphic pictures, your account will be removed Sexting and/or repeatedly sexting (after a given warning not to) will result in account removal Underage or in the wrong age community (you must be 15 to be a listener & 13 to be a member) Red Flag Consequences: Immediate removal from 7 Cups community Protocol on Getting Support from a community leader: If you are having a problem, you may approach a community leader for support on how to manage that situation. However, please refrain from telling them specific details. As a general rule when communicating with community leaders: we should avoid using names and specific details about a person or a given situation. For example, if you are having a conflict with another listener. You could go to the community leader and say I am struggling with a difficult situation. Could you give me some tips on how to use conflict resolution? In this example, no specific details are mentioned, but you are still able to ask for help as you work through a difficult situation. My Experiences with Offsite Contact
by Rebekah
Last post
July 17th
...See more Hello, everyone! I hope you’re doing well, and that you’re having a great day 🌞 This post hasn’t been an easy one for me to write, because it has so many negative feelings associated with it; shame, anxiety, embarrassment, even a little bit of fear. But, with a lot of encouragement, I’ve decided that it’s best to share with you all my personal experiences with offsite contact, both via 7 Cups and off 7 Cups. Yes, you read that correctly. Back when I was a young teen listener (I’d been a listener for no more than 2-3 months), I connected offsite with a member. It was very, very stupid, and quite frankly, it was downright dangerous. Not to mention against the rules! This isn’t my only experience with offsite contact/dangerous activity online generally, and I will get to this very soon. I know what you may be thinking. I’m a safety leader - an ambassador, nonetheless - and I broke one of the most important rules relating to safety. I’ve thought about this a lot (with help from others), and I’ve come to the conclusion that my previous actions have influenced me to care so much about safety. I have lived through what could happen as a result of offsite contact, and that is why I can be so pugnacious when it comes to the safety of users, especially teens. I am not my past mistakes. Written below are my experiences with offsite contact and dangerous actions online. 7 Cups I had no idea of the rules regarding offsite contact. I didn’t know that it was prohibited (even though I have more than 1 brain cell, so it should have been obvious). Thankfully, I was safe during this interaction (as was the member), but other users have definitely not been as fortunate. As soon as I was made aware of the rules, I removed the user from my social media, and sent them a message on 7 Cups stating that it was highly inappropriate of me to engage in offsite contact with them, and that it was best for all communication to be had on the site. I had no intention of breaking any rules. Back when I used to have profile pictures of art that I had drawn, one member was able to find me on a site where you can write stories. As soon as I noticed the connection, I removed all followers who I did not personally know and changed the username/profile pictures, both on that site and on 7 Cups. Even if you don’t share offsite contact explicitly, some users may find you because of similar usernames or profile pictures. You may trust a person you meet online. You may really like their personality, and click with them in so many ways. You may feel like they’re a friend. Your friend. They may feel the same way, and they may even actually be the person you think they are. But so many things are possible when we share our details. For example; * The person could be dangerous * The person could be looking to harm you * The person could attempt to blackmail you * The person could attempt to locate you/invade your privacy * The person could be ‘catfishing’ you, i.e., pretending to be someone and acting as this person, sometimes with or without photos, only to be completely different Yes, we make friends on the site, and that’s great! But that’s where it needs to end -- the site. It should not ever, ever go any further than chatting in the rooms (or PMs, if with a listener), because it can be (and is) dangerous. People aren’t always who they say they are online; I know this from my own personal experiences, which are detailed below. Games I remember being a very small Rebekah, I think I was around 7 or 8 years old. Still using my brother’s 1990s acorn computer, I started playing a game (which I won’t name). It was aimed for children 6+ (though anyone could play it, feasibly). I remember another user asked me for my name and where I lived. They told me they lived just a few miles away from my very small Welsh town (exceptionally unlikely), and that their name was very similar to mine. This made my small child brain happy -- this user then asked if I wanted to marry him, and what did I say? I said, “no, thank you, because I want to change my surname when I get married.” This is such an innocent, childlike thing to say, exactly because I was a child! This user was clearly an older person looking to cause harm to me. It’s terrifying when you really think about it. In the same game, when I was older, I connected with a user on Skype. We had a video call, and they refused to show their face or speak into the phone. This is a major red flag that I couldn’t see as a young 13-14 bambino. He told me to find some alcohol in my house, and to drink it. He took a screenshot of me doing this, and said he was going to post it on his social media. I don’t think he did this, but I will never know. He asked me lots of personal questions that I don’t quite remember. I can only see how blatantly predatory this is now that I am an adult.  In a different game, I made friends with someone who eventually started to beg me to come and live with them in their country. I was no more than 8. I asked them to stop, and they wouldn’t, so I told my mum what was happening. She told me to block them and to come off the game, which I did. Games are fun, and we can make friends on them. But, they need to stay as game-friends. Just like how 7 Cups friends need to stay as 7 Cups-friends. Social Media When I was 11, I created an account on a popular social media platform. I was obsessed with Monster High, particularly one of the characters. I would follow any and all accounts that were related to this character, and that involved one that was something like, “charactername_official”. The ‘official’ part to me made me think, ooooooo, they must like the character as much as me! So, I ‘followed’ them. What came after this was nothing short of completely predatory behaviour, that I only realised when I was around 17 or 18. I don't remember how old they said they were (they were definitely over the age of 18). They told me they lived in a spacious flat in Florida, and mapped out their location to me, with a red line going from where he lived to my country. He told me that I should come and visit him at some point. He sent me a photo that he said was himself, but I now know that it 100% was not. It was heavily pixelated and looked like a model. Even if it was him, the picture he had sent me was inappropriate as it was a shirtless photo. I’ve tried searching for the photo on Google, but I’ve not found it. That random man had/has pictures of 11 year old me, and that’s absolutely terrifying. Conclusion and Key Points Here are the key points from this post; * Sharing your details online is not safe, under any circumstances * People are not who they say are * You are NOT your past mistakes * Photos are never completely erased from cyberspace * If you are catfished, targeted by older people, or hurt in any sort of way, it is NOT your fault * Learning is growing, and growing is important so that we can be the best version of ourselves * If you meet someone on 7 Cups, STAY on 7 Cups I’ve made mistakes, and I have learned from them. I am the best version of myself. It’s okay to make mistakes -- this is something that I have been taught from a young age, but only really began to understand recently. If there’s only one thing I want to make known from this post, it’s this: if you are currently in contact with someone offsite, please remove them. I know it sounds mean or even unfair, but please, listen to/read everything I’ve said and really think about it. Not only is it against the rules, it can impede your safety. I’d like to give a special thank you to @Heather225, who has encouraged me to create this post. I wouldn’t have been able to do this without you, and I’m grateful for all that you’ve done, not just for me, but for the greater community. Guidelines on Soliciting Monetary Transactions
by Heather225
Last post
May 17th
...See more It has come to our attention that there have been instances of listeners attempting to offer money to members. While we understand and sympathize with the financial struggles many may be facing, it's important to note that accepting and soliciting money are both strictly prohibited by the Community Guidelines. This rule applies to both listeners and members. This is also a critical matter of safety and we take our community's very seriously. If you encounter anyone trying to offer you money or ask for links or emails to send funds, please report them to our Help Desk [https://help.7cups.com/hc/en-us/requests/new] or tell an Admin so we can take prompt action. You can quickly access the Help Desk by clicking Report an issue under your settings: Thanks for your understanding and for looking out for one another!

Profile Pics on 7Cups - Staying Safe Online
by MistyMagic
Last post
March 13th
...See more Hey Everyone! Misty Here! I am writing this discussion post because of the importance of choosing the safest profile picture that you can! This applies equally to members and listeners. I am a mentor here at 7Cups and part of the welcoming team too so I have a lot of new listeners and members that contact me. Sadly a lot of these people that are new to 7Cups have problems caused by their profile pictures, that could easily be avoided. We all know that it is very important to stay anonymous on 7Cups and one area that we need to be careful about is choosing the right picture. I know that there are threads that have already been written, one in fact was written almost 4 years ago to the day but the internet has changed since then. We all know about internet safety, or we think we do! But do we really? Basically remember that anything posted online stays online. So let's use that and discuss profile pictures and how to choose a safe one? Q. What is a 'safe display picture' * A picture that cannot be traced. Did you know that it is possible to take a picture and trace it back to where it came from? So please, think about that for a moment. Do you really want some internet stalker turning up outside your the front door of your home? * A picture that does not reveal your true identity Imagine that you share your true mental health problems and then your boss reads your thread and sees the picture and recognises you? * A picture that has not been used anywhere else on the internet ever! You take a lovely selfie and post it to your social media accounts. You are proud of it. You want everyone to see how beautiful you are and how clever at taking selfies. You use it as your profile picture on 7Cups and then start sharing about your problems with your relationship, next thing you know your whole family recognise the picture and know all about your personal problems. Q. But I want to show how attractive I am, lots of other people show their faces why shouldn't I? 💡You can of course! In fact a lot of 7Cups guidelines appear to encourage the use of a face picture! (but perhaps those suggestions should carry safety warnings or be amended to reflect the current state of internet safety). However, please bear in mind all the points above and then also these:- ❌Sometimes people join us here and they are bullies or unkind people and they like to target those that are new or inexperienced. They will look at the picture and maybe even actively seek out people to target. Choosing an anonymous picture can help to limit the possibility of this happening. Instead of a young blonde female they see a picture of a daisy or a cat. Instead of an attractive male they see a picture of a wolf. ⭐For New Listeners in particular- consider this point whilst you gain experience of handling different chat scenarios. Do you really need to have a pretty picture and your gender in your profile, and say you will listen to anything? Wouldn't you rather know that those things weren't why you were contacted? Q. If this is all true then surely this applies to ALL pictures we post on 7Cups then? ✅YES YES YES! posting pictures of our own dogs or cats or Christmas tree can leave us all open to taunting, personal attacks, bullying or worse, tracking and stalking. Q. Ok, so if it applies to all pictures what about other details in our profiles? Are they safe? * We all need to take responsibility for our own safety online. * Any details we give should still allow us to remain anonymous, so please think carefully. * Giving some personal details may help people reach out to you because of shared experiences but also they may attract the wrong people and unwanted attention. * People often think that they are safe if they only give out tiny bits of information here and there but that adds up and up and up. Q. So what can I do if something goes wrong? How do I get help here? * 7 Cups works hard to keep everyone safe. * There are three Community Managers @Heather225 @ASilentObserver @Hope * You can email community@7cups.com * You can change your profile in your Settings (use the browser version www.7cups.com then top right profile settings) Safety is Your Responsibility Too! Profile Picture Policy changed October 14th 2019 see This Thread [https://www.7cups.com/forum/SiteUpdatesInformationFortheCommunity_100/SiteupdatesSeptemberOctober2019_1993/Newprofilepicturepolicyandreviewtool_210414/1/#2096153] Listening .... Connecting Lives: International Crisis Resources List for 7Cups
by Lunaire00

...See more (1/2/24 NOTE: This project is on hold. Sorry for the inconvenience!) Hello 7Cups Community! I’m excited to invite compassionate listeners like you all to be a part of a meaningful project and team: the 7Cups Crisis Resources Team! The goal of this project is to compile a comprehensive list of international crisis resources to support 7Cups users globally, as we have noticed crisis resources for some countries are more limited than for others.  As it is just currently myself on the team, I am looking for other interested listeners to join and assist with compiling and entering information, or to assist with the admin and logistics of the project.  ✅ Requirements  * Adult Verified Listener [https://www.7cups.com/forum/listenerjourney/ListenerVerificationProject_1839/GetVerifiedon7Cups_290064/]  * Be a part of 7Cups for 2+ months (No Newbie badge)  * Commitment to dedicating 1-2 hours/month during the first phase (less frequent commitment needed in the second phase)  * No Behavioral Reports in the last 3 months  💜 Qualities you should have * Passionate about mental health and crisis resources  * Responsive and effective in a collaborative team environment  * Detail-oriented for accurate data entry  * Basic tech skills for online tools, specifically Google Docs and Google Sheets  * Clear and effective communication  * Initiative and contribution to project improvement  Special Request - If there are any listeners who are familiar with coding, specifically setting up user searchable databases using GitHub/Notion etc, please reach out to me as I would like to explore the idea of collating the data into a database as opposed to a Google Doc/Sheet. This is currently an idea and not part of the project.🤍 📄 Team Member Duties  There are two phases you can join, depending on whether you’d like to help with data compilation or administrative side: Short Term Commitment - Phase 1: Data Compilation (Estimated 1-3 months) For those who wish to assist with Data Compilation: * Responsibilities:  * Identify 3-5 major hotlines/resources per country for suicide/self-harm/general emergencies that adhere to our trustworthiness guidelines. * Countries to Cover: There are 195 countries on the list, and we aim to cover as many as possible. * Data Entry: Input information into the Google Document/Sheet, including the hotline’s name, contact details (number, etc.), operating hours, website, and any other pertinent details. * Quota: No monthly quota; contribute as much as you can. Active participation is appreciated throughout the compilation phase. Afterward, feel free to leave the team if needed, as only a few listeners will assist with upkeep. If you are inactive for more than 6 weeks, you will be required to reapply.  * Cheers: Earn 10 cheers per resource captured/entered correctly. For those who wish to assist with the administrative duties: * Responsibilities: * Application Tracking: Maintain an accurate and up-to-date record of team members and their applications using the designated Google Sheet. * Data Compilation Dashboard: Monitor the data compilation dashboard in Google Sheets and promptly address any issues, errors, or concerns related to data compilation to uphold accuracy * Communication * Facilitate effective communication among team members by relaying important updates, changes, or announcements. * Act as a liaison between data compilation team members and project leadership, ensuring a smooth flow of information. * Country Resource Assistance: Contact listeners from countries where we are facing challenges in finding crisis resources for assistance with obtaining crisis resources for that region and/or verification of resources, etc * Cheers: TBD This role is suited for those with an experience and understanding of working with Google Sheets, and that are comfortable with reaching out to listeners.  Long Term Commitment - Phase 2: Updates, Upkeep, and Diversification of the List (3+ months) For those who wish to assist with Admin: Updates & Upkeep * Responsibilities: * Monitoring Responses: A Google Form will be introduced for 7Cups users to add, edit or correct information on the list. Team members will monitor the Google Form responses. * Update Frequency: Regularly update the resources list every 1-2 months to incorporate user submissions and ensure the list remains accurate and relevant. * Cheers: Earn 10 cheers per edit/correction/addition made. For those who wish to assist with Data Compilation: Diversification * Responsibilities  * Compile resources for specific issues such as domestic violence, sexual assault, etc., with the same format for compiling the information as Phase 1. * Cheers: Earn 10 cheers per resource captured/entered correctly. 💗 Why Join?  * Empower 7Cups users during crisis situations * Strengthen community support within 7Cups * Extend 7Cups' reach to an international audience * Reduce barriers to help-seeking 👉 Interested? Please fill out this Google Form [https://forms.gle/zP1aoNnLyUPYz2hx5]!  👉 If you have any questions, please message Lunaire00.  👉 The Admin contact for this project is @Heather225  A special and huge thank you to @Suryansh for assisting with the project and helping me make it a reality! 💜 Thank you for your interest, and I look forward to making a positive impact together! 🤍🌷
Profile Guidelines: Politics and Current Events

...See more 7 Cups is built on fostering an atmosphere that promotes healing and support. We understand the world is a particularly tough place right now and many feel compelled to express their political stances to stand in solidarity. However, this can and does incite debates and discomfort for those who come here seeking a safe space for emotional support. To ensure 7 Cups remains focused on therapeutic outcomes, we are requesting that all members and listeners refrain from including political content in their bios and profile pictures. Our profile guidelines emphasize the importance of conveying warmth, compassion, and kindness through your pictures. Some examples are stances, signs, and associated flags. Our decision to implement this guideline is rooted in our commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment for as many as we can. We know this is difficult to hear for some, and this guideline is not meant to stifle your freedom of expression or discourage important conversations. Instead, it is a gentle reminder to prioritize the therapeutic goals of our community. Thank you for honoring this request to help care for one another.

As this is our Safety sub-community, these guidelines are extra extra important! 🌟 here they are below;

1. Please, be kind to all users. Forum posts/comments that attack or otherwise offend another user will be removed.
2. No offsite contact sharing. This is strictly against site rules.
3. Please, stay on topic to the best of your ability!
4. Please, keep confidential information to yourself. This means no sharing of usernames, messages in a 1-1 or a group setting, or any details about a member chat. Take any and all issues that you'd like to discuss in more depth to Rebekah or tommy.
5. Please, try to post threads within the relevant sub-forum! We understand that this might not be easy, but posting a thread such as "Hello, I'm new!" would clearly not be suited to Part 8 - Safety Activities: Discussions, Events, and Games 🌞
