What's your best life lesson?

tommy November 22nd, 2023

Happy Wisdom Wednesday!

Life is busy and we are constantly figuring out ways to improve ourselves. Arguably, the more experience we have the more wise we become. They say experience is the best teacher!

What is a life lesson that you have learned through personal experience?

This thread is part of our Cupsgiving event! Find out other ways you can get involved here.

@tommy  Based on my experience, life is a game of learning how to develop patience, when to exercise it, and when to lose it; all with perfect timing, which is an art form that few ever master. 😊

@tommy

That sometimes you have to just accept people the way they are. You can't change them. And if their behavior towards you was disrespectful and you told them and they still don't see the problem then you should just leave them instead of trying to change them. Spend a lot of time on this, this year but now i know that i will just never get an apology and i will never be able to change their mind and their behavior. If the person is ok with all the bad things they did then it's my time to leave.

@tommy

everything has perspective, just because it's negative, doesn't mean you cant see the good.

And

search for the truth, there you will find peace

@tommy

if you would say it to someone else, why not you? Why do they get support and not you?

And

you can't choose what happens to you, but how it shapes you

also the lesson of cheese

❤️ Your health is the most important thing. If you have to choose between your health and anything else, choose your health. For example, if you choose education over health and you destroy your sanity to graduate ""on time"" (it's not a race!!!), it won't matter: you graduated, yes, but your mental health is a disaster, graduating doesn't automatically restore it or make you happy, and your title would have been the same if you graduated later on. Choose your well-being, your safety and your health. Choose yourself ❤️

@K8love I think if you are an empath, this is very common. It is against our nature.

When I focus on feeling alone, I cannot see all the kindness that others have showered on me.
