I am a 45 year old mother of 4. 3 of my children have autism 2 are just starting elementary school. I am a homebound agoraphobic with PTSD, Panic Disorder, PMDD, Borderline personality disorder, MDD, undiagnosed Autism, OCD, many phobia's, Etc. While having all of this I have learned I love helping other people. I believe that while therapists and Phycologists are needed (as I have both) someone who has been or is where you are will understand what you are going through much more than someone who has a theoretical or learned knowledge of the issue at hand. I am thankful everyday for my therapist however I will forever be more thankful to the people I spend time with in chat rooms who understood what I was going through. I spent a little over 15yrs helping people in peer to peer mental health settings in chats online and I loved it. While helping others I was able to help myself and learned very much about different approaches to helping others. Helping others will always been something I am very passionate about even if I am only able to do so from my computer, table, or phone from home. I never judge anyone for any reason. People all have paths they are on and that should be respected.
