Bio
I am very passionate about social justice, effecting positive change, and promoting humanitarian goals in service to others. I have always loved helping others in crisis; in my early career, I responded to 911 emergencies as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with the fire department. Currently, I work full-time at a non-profit domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking agency and have been in this field for almost 7 years. I also returned to school full-time last year to pursue my social work degree. I am a nationally credentialed victims of crime advocate and I hold a certification to provide mental health first aid to those in crisis. While I think that skills and experience are essential, I also believe that human connection is crucial to effectively helping others. I chose my current career path because It is my fondest wish to be able to touch lives, build bridges, enable dreams, and positively impact the lives of others on their road to well-being. From my own experience, I understand that life isn't always easy; the journey is easier when someone walks with you.  I am here to listen.
“The most effective way to show compassion to another is to listen, rather than talk.” - Thich Nhat Hanh, No Mud, No Lotus.
