Yes, it is still inflicting pain upon yourself and not good for you. When you feel like doing that, try and think of things that make you feel happy and worthy.

Any sort of behaviour that is meant to cause you harm counts as self-harm. I'm so sorry to hear you're going through that. But I want you to know that there is always someone ready to support you here at 7cups, and that this is something that you really can stop doing. I know it feels impossible, and it's going to be very hard and challenging, but you can stop hurting yourself. You are a wonderful person, deserving of love and compassion. Never forget that.

In short, yes it does. Doing anything to yourself that may cause pain/harm counts as self harm. This includes, burning, scratching, biting, cutting, hitting yourself or anything to induce deliberate pain.

Using acid to burn yourself is self-harm because self-harm means to injure yourself physically, no matter what method you used. Also, as acid is corrosive, injuries are inflicted onto the skin and it takes a long time to recover.

yes using acid to burn yourself is self harm,because it will leave permanant scars,and people will ask questions.
Any form of pain afflicted to yourself, caused by yourself, is a form of self-harm. It doesn't matter what object/substance you use.
