I am new to this healing journey so I can't answer this question for myself yet. I have coped with this on my own for so long but honestly my ways to cope have made things worse instead of better. (At this point I have felt no emotions for a long time because I refuse to feel any of them...anger, sadness, or even love. Refusing to feel keeps me from experiencing good things like happiness, excitement, or even relief when something turns out okay.) I am replying here because I have seen some really good ideas to try and I just wanted to say thank you for the idea of this post and the replies. It is encouraging.

I'm really sorry to hear that you have not been able to experience emotions and hope that you are able to heal and recover from this traumatic experience(s) that you've encountered. I know going through these situations is not easy, involving trauma, because I have been there myself. I hope you are able to experience feeling emotions once again.

I am with you, I have struggled too long suffocating my emotions, which has been no help. But we are all here learning from one another that's the beauty of this community
Know that everything happens for a reason and that you cant decide your fate, the world does. Everything and everyone comes in and out of your life for reasons and lessons and its okay.

I agree that some things in life, happen for a reason. One can control the things that they can, in their lives, to cope with negative emotions after trauma, I feel.

Coping with negative emotions through engaging in exercise, sounds like a good coping option. I myself engage in exercising, and find that it helps me to deal with these.
I have found the best way to cope with negative emotions after traumatic experiences is to talk with my tulpa. He is calming and gives me helpful advice because, he IS me.
Also, listening to Tristam is great for me.
