Some wonderful suggestions here for coping with negative emotions!
There is no best way to deal with negative emotions. It depends on the person, their mood and what suits them best such as music or exercise or relaxing with a massage or ....
@inventiveWheel
Yes, I think youre right. A helpful coping method(s) will vary from individual, to individual. Creating and listening to music, exercising, and relaxing activities such as massages sound like some positive options for coping.
Spending time with dogs. Lots of dogs.
@gelatino Dogs are very healing, having one myself and theres nothing better than going to the beach and walking along the shoreline, taking in the peace and quiet whilst also having some fun with my bundle of energy :)

My therapist told me to feel those awful feelings instead of blocking it due to the emotional pain. I tried that and it worked. Just let your strong emotions wash over you and like clouds, they pass out of your mind very quickly. I hope this works for anyone who read this. It works for me when I wake up in the night or can't sleep with all those negative thoughts and emotions. Nothing else works for me. Palouse mindfulness free Meditation helps with my pains due to tension build up from stress. I stopped the meditation but I should get back into it. Good luck
@Lonelykate
Allowing yourself to feel fully all of your emotions, sounds like a viable option for coping. The negative feelings which one experiences after traumatic experiences are valid, as they have gone through something challenging and emotionally strenuous.
@TakeAStandAgainstBullying
That a great idea.
@Lonelykate
I'll keep that in mind. I just want to feel numb from the pain I have.
@selfconfidentTangerine1778
when I tell myself not to think about painful thoughts, it wouldn't stop coming back to me. When I just let it come, it goes away so quickly.
@Lonelykate Completely Agree :)
I try to ignore it or tell myself that their is a way to see the good side of things
@Melygomez3
Trying to see the positive side of negative situations sounds wonderful! Keep it up!
@Melygomez3
That great advice because I never thought about it from that point of view. I will try that out myself.
