Talking with others who understand is most helpful for me
@Joshua38
Connecting with others who have been through similar experiences, can be a positive method for coping.
@Joshua38 Friends can be extremely beneficially when we just need someone to talk to or to cry with. :) True and geniuine friends allow you to be you, without trying to change you and accept you fully good days and bad days :)
Best way for me is to go on punch bag until tired try empty my mind n fill it with positive thoughts!
Therapy, journaling, affirmations, yoga, meditation.
Say hi, how are you? And have a nice day!
This metaphor by a listener:
"Think of it as like your goal is a boat, and you're hanging onto a rope zooming through the ocean. it's hard to breath and you're bouncing all around. in order to reach your goal you need to grip the slippery wet rope hand over hand, inch by inch. maybe right now it's all you can do just to hold on, it's ok if you need to take a breather right now, as long as you keep one hand on the rope and keep looking forward you goal is still within reach"
Look up no standing on the toilet sign is what I do, though if that doesn't humor you just look up funny signs and allow yourself to laugh like an idiot.
I've just been faking it with everyone and everybody.
I also joke a lot.
I go for a nap because at least then I can't feel anything if I'm not conscious
Find a healthy way to get it out...drawing, painting, journaling, singing, praying, talking, exercising....nature walks to recenter
@Compassionatecounselor Great examples given there, love them :)
Writing seems to help me a lot. When I write what I feel, it becomes real, it becomes easier to handle because I am no longer holding what I want to say inside of me. I'm letting everything I feel flow out of me, through the pencil and on to the paper. It feels free, honestly.
@blueButterflies8
Writing can be a therapeutic activity, and help one to clarify their thoughts. It can act as a release. Keep it up!
