DID/OSDD discussion thread
Hello everyone,
Because I won't be hosting the open chat on DID/OSDD anymore for a while but still wanted to be in contact with the community I will make a discussion post. Here we can meet up on a scheduled time or just whenever we feel like and still talk about the topic like we did during the open chat :)

@Kyoshi @NoneTheWiser I'm not sure if either of you knows about the changes that have happened in the chat rooms. Idk If you remember last week when the room was opened but there was a chat still there. We chalked it up to it not being enough time for it to have been deleted. 24 hours I believe? Well that not the case. You can now scroll up and load more messages. So the chats don't delete any more
While this might not normally be an issue - I'm hoping that you can both see why it might be an issue. Especially in the Trauma room. This is might trigger some people's sense of safety and trust and make it harder for many to share anything that they're going through
This just doesn't seem like a really good idea to me but I'm not sure what can be done about it. Probably not much if I'm honest

thank you for bringing this up, i can definitely see the issue and how it can cause members to feel uncomfortable to share.
I was aware that this was a new thing for 1-1 chats but not for group chats as well.

We have decided as a group to host the DID/OSDD chat 1 hr later at 1pm Cups time on Wednesdays. This is to help all of those who join towards the end of the chat to have time for support.

Apologies for no chat today. There seems to be some glitches again and the room didn't want to open. There were also a few bad gateway's encountered. I do apologize! Hope everyone is doing ok! ❤️
Just a note to anyone who check's this thread - next weeks chat will be on Tuesday instead of wednesday at 1pm east coast time We did just do the daylight savings thing so you might have to make adjustments for that depending on where you live :)
The following week it will go back to the normal - wednesdays at 1pm

Sorry I missed it again. Starting to have log on issues with my main computer with logging in. Some kind of API error. I am on another computer right now. Can't understand why this keeps happening.
Maybe I need to change Browsers
@WorkingitThrough2 Nothing to be sorry about! I'm sorry to hear you're having log in troubles again. Maybe report it at a bug? We use foxfire here if you're interested in trying a different browser

Lord, seems like I just can't get in on this chat that I need so badly. The people got here this morning to put the fence up and my dog pen. Time slipped away and when I thought about it the chat button would not open any group support at all.
Have the way we enter a chatroom changed? Nothing happens when I click on the group support chat button.
@WorkingitThrough2 I had a thought. With having to get a new account you might not have the badges needed to access the rooms. I've added a link is you'd like to check to see what you need. The chat isn't until 1pm on Wednesday (tomorrow) so there's still time!

You were right, I did not have the badges nor the other things needed under this identity. That is just what I was afraid of.🤔
@WorkingitThrough2 It disappoints me that they couldn't get your account back. I can't help but wonder how hard they tried. There will be another chat next Wednesday - it there's anything I can do to help you get what you need to access it please let me know ❤️

Thank you so much. They all dropped the ball and quit. I took the Compassion quiz and I don't have enough posts or path steps taken to earn the other badge. I guess my Diary will be next seeing it has no profile.

I know it can take a few days to get the compassion badge but yeah you'll have to maybe make a new diary and I guess maybe join the queue for a listener to get the chief chat one or maybe talk with a listener you have before? If you need a certain number of posts - maybe you could try the game threads in the hobby zone? I would imagine those would count as forum posts?

Thanks, the only problem with that is that we are to be anonymous so they won't know who I am if I tag them or PM them. Yes, I can only do that as a Listener, which requires me to go through some more stuff that I just don't want to take on at this point.

I personally feel very strongly that we ought to leave the Wednesday group as it is. I believe this is the feedback that the group gave a couple of weeks ago when asked. It has taken a long time to build up safety and I know that we have autistic members who do not like change. If more listeners/mods want to support the dissociative community, that is wonderful. But please remember that trust takes time to build up and we will all need time and space to get to know you. Slow addition of support can be really helpful, but a sudden flood of support can sometimes feel controlling, love bombing or make us suspicious of grooming due to our traumatic pasts. Slow and steady helps us build a consistant foundation of trust, knowing that it is not going to go away again. Please also know that if we give you feedback about being overwhelmed by changes, it is not personal. We just need you to slow down and be attentive to our needs whilst we navigate this time of change.

I can understand that changes can be scary, but I didn't plan on making changes other than making the sessions official to get support from the mods and have a bigger support system behind it. However, due to the pushback that I got, this won't happen, and the sessions won't be part of the project I'm leading. If I understood it correctly, it's Kyoshi's responsibility instead, so you'd need to talk about possible changes with them.
