@SarahGeorgeDCS

Hello Sarah, Is there a solution for escapism? I've been a serious escapist since the past 1 year and that has led to some consequences. I just want to stop being like this :/ Hope you answer. Good day!

What do you do when you know deep down that there are people who would listen and support you when you're feeling bad, but you can't shake the feeling you would be judged and never seen in the same regard by them if you opened up? When you know someone could and would help you, but you look up to them and want them to see you as strong?

Hi, I'm 22 and I've always had a bit of an anger prolem and I was wondering some ways that could help reduce it or when I'm not in the greatest moods to keep them on lower level. Alot of my anger comes from how trash my personal life was growing up and now I really hate my job and I wanna quit but I can't so that kinda drives me up the wall.

What are some tips on getting through my trauma from being physically, mentally and sexually abused by a guy I was living with. He is now in jail on domestic assault, battery with strangulation, kidnapping because he kept my car keys hid from me and monitored and controlled my cell phone. The prosecutor is trying to get him on the sexual assault charge also. I finally got away from him when he was arrested on February 16th last month. But I'm still dealing with the trauma and I get emotional alot. Thanks

Why do some men hit women they say they love?

rationalGrapefruit3050 December 9th, 2020

@energeticDime8483 i dont mean this as an excuse for abusers, but i recently had a thought about people who hit their kids... They cant control their own emotions (anger) relating to the perceived wrongdoing (by the woman/child) and since they cant control the other person, they act out thoughtlessly in anger as if it would correct or undo anything... Sad to think about, but ultimately a thoughtless act out of desperation and feeling powerless

My problem is my ignoring attitude that developed in my brain to defense regular yelling and insulting when I lived with an annoying stepmom. I tend to ignore what people say, that give me advantage of a very independent thinker but have social problem. Any exercise, habit can change that ?

7 Cups has guides on Family Stress and Social Anxiety that might be helpful, as your situation seems to include a bit of both.

Can ambiem cause disassociated personality?

@SA111979 Please note that this thread is no longer answered by a professional.

Do you mean Ambien, used for insomnia? If you search the Internet you can easily find a list of known side effects. When I searched just now, I didn't see dissociation or personality changes in the list.

To discuss possible side effects, it's better to talk to the doctor who prescribed the medication. Here at 7 Cups there is no one who can give you advice about medications.

I always feel depressed but I really don't know if I'm depressed. My emotions switch so quick. I have trsut issues, anger issues, get mad everytime, cry a lot of times for no reason, hating the world and all people, have low self esteem, but still do great job at school. Can you help me to know what kind of mental illness I'm experiencing?

@dapperTriangle2546 Please note that this thread is no longer answered by a professional.

Unfortunately it's not possible for anyone to diagnose any kind of mental illness on the Internet. The list of symptoms you've posted do seem like more than just depression. If you feel you can't have a normal life because of all these problems, then it's important to see a doctor or another health professional as soon as possible.

Hi, so does it make any sense to have more than one therapist? I have my reasons for asking.

@I512 Please note that this thread is no longer answered by a professional.

The therapists I know warn against having more than one psychotherapist at the same time, because the treatments will always interfere with one another.

Of course you can have a different kind of therapist. For example, you could have a psychotherapist and an acupuncturist at the same time. Or you can have a psychotherapist and a psychiatrist (who only manages your medication).

And of course you can have different types of psychotherapy one after another.
