@Heather225
life is too short to let others use and abuse you, don’t let anyone make you feel less than. If someone doesn’t support you then you don’t need them in your life.
@pinkfanta Yes, there are so many people we can have relationships with - why be with people who hurt us?
One of my favorite quotes that I live by today after learning how important taking care of ourselves is.
Be there for others, but never leave yourself behind. - Dodinsky
In the hustle and bustle of our busy lives, we often forget the significance of self-care. It is not just a luxury, but a prerequisite to lead a satisfying and harmonious life. By giving yourself the time and attention you deserve and making self-care a priority, you can better handle life's obstacles with strength, kindness, and energy.
@Jenna
Interesting that that is very similar to the one I posted. 🙂

One timeless piece of advice I've come across is: "Embrace change and adaptability." Life is constantly evolving, and being open to change can lead to growth and new opportunities. Remember, flexibility is key to navigating life's twists and turns! 🌱🌟

For those who might need to be told these things, this would count as advice. Hopefully, for those on this site, it is simply an affirmation.
No Difference (by Shel Silverstein):
Small as a peanut,
Big as a giant,
We're all the same size
When we turn off the light
Rich as a sultan,
Poor as a mite,
We're all worth the same
When we turn off the light.
Red, black or orange,
Yellow or white,
We all look the same
When we turn off the light.
So maybe the way
To make everything right
Is for God to just reach out
And turn off the light!
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." - Thomas Edison
Listen to yourself.
With chronic illnesses I have learned to have to listen to my body a lot. There's the other aspects though too - feeling uncomfortable in a situation or around a person. Instead of sitting there silently suffering through that discomfort it's ok to do something about it - speak up about a problem, leave a situation, etc.
I was told to stop blaming others and wallowing from this that happened to me, get over yourself, your owed nothing in life.
Best bit of advice ever given and true x
@Heather225 Thank you, H for the tag.
There are many to share but one that is top of my head right now is something that my mother told me once. It goes like this:
So what matters the most in a journey? The destination or a journey?
Many of us feel that the destination is the most significant part. Some believe that the journey is more important.
But you know, the most important is the People on that journey. The people with whom you started, the people with whom you reached the destination, and the people who were part of your journey.
Because if you reflect on the bigger picture, it is the people who made a journey meaningful and influenced your actions, choices, and decisions. Good people influence you positively, bad people make you realize that you don't want to make better choices and decisions.
