Prayers Request Thread!

Heather225 September 1st, 2023

We all face moments of struggle and uncertainty at some point in our life journey. It can help to know that there are people out there thinking about you and rooting for you.

This thread is a dedicated space for prayer requests and support. Whether you're going through a personal crisis, facing health concerns, or other difficulties, you can ask for an empathetic ear, offer prayers, or just comforting words. If you'd like a specific kind of support, please do mention it with your share. You can say as much or as little as you like about your situation. (It can be as simple as "please pray for x", "please send me strength/blessings/vibes", "please keep me in your thoughts", "send beams" etc!)

For those who are willing, please consider extending your support to fellow members. Your compassion and words of encouragement can provide solace and strength to someone in need. Let's come together as a community to lift each other up in times of hardship.

Reminder
Please be mindful when posting in the forums, particularly in discussions around religion. Ensure that all posts are respectful, kind and productive. Flag a post for review by forum moderators by clicking the flag option in the lower right hand corner of the post if you feel it is inappropriate, offensive or goes against our forum guidelines. Thank you for supporting 7 Cups.

I'd like to request some prayers and beams for my friend. He is going through a job transition now and beginning to rediscover his strengths. He is in good shape overall, but could benefit from some insight and awareness of his own capabilities as well as finding the right paths to travel down.

Hello everyone ☀️

Could I ask for your prayers today? My mental health is taking a hit and my family situation is very sad. Sometimes it's difficult for me to find the solitude, concentration and love in my heart to pray here.

Thank you to everyone who keeps this thread going, may you be blessed, in the kindest, broadest sense of the word

Dear You!  :) Person on the other side of the internet who is reading this right now...

Would you please pray for me?  I've had intense oral surgery (June 2023) and am now getting to the next stage of procedures and measurements of my mouth.  The last week or so here has been much more painful than I expected.  Just now it is 1:07AM and I am sitting here, worrying, and then not sleeping, and worrying about not sleeping, and... (sigh).  My mouth is just in a sort of constant low level type of pain.  It does not throb or burn too much.  My gums and tissues are healing - Thank you, God! - but they are in pain while they are in the healing processes.  Yuk.  It makes eating hard and my food choices are quite limited.

Please pray for me that I would give my concerns and worries about all food, mouth/teeth, etc. to God.  And then to continue giving my worries to God (I can be super good at taking them back, to worry about more).

And for physical healing too.  I'd appreciate it very much.

~me, this one uncomfortable and 'hungry, hungry'? Platypus  xo

please pray for my parents to be saved. i find it so hard for them to understand my values in life when we all believe in different things and they do not know jesus. also, i wish for them to really experience jesus and the goodness in jesus- to be blessed and have an abundant life. i have been trusting for their salvation since i was a believer in 2015. I pray that the time is soon that they are saved and as i embarked on the next phase in my life as i get married and they have god who is always there for them.

You have shared the load and so now others here on this thread are praying as well. The majority of the worlds most prolific religions boil down to one, simple tenant, "love one another"😇. Keep loving them! Keep praying! P.U.SH. (pray until something happens).❤️

I ask for prayer that things go smoothly as I prepare to start college in January. I am beyond nervous. I ask for prayer that the medicine for my TD like symptoms works. And they my psychiatrist can get my energy boosted. That way I can have a healthy start to college.

@Sunisshiningandsoareyou      I'd glad to share with you the short story of this huge miracle that kept me from dying sometime if you are interested. Not many doctors seem to believe me.

Sunisshiningandsoareyou November 10th, 2023

@MindLooker91 Yes of course, you're welcome to share here.

MindLooker91 November 10th, 2023

@MindLooker91       I was drinking 4 bottles of wine a day for 2 years. My liver was inflamed and levels were high. I was told I would die. Quitting cold turkey on my own led to horrible withdrawals. so I went back to it. So I went to prayer. I prayed to be able to quit, have no withdrawals and have no cravings. Medicare wouldn't pay for rehab and my outpatient psych med provider wouldn't prescribe the drugs to help. After praying that night I didn't buy alcohol the next day. Had no withdrawals. 5 months later still not a single craving.

Helgafy November 10th, 2023

@MindLooker91

What a wonderful, wonderful wonder (ups -2 words nearly equal). I just bless you in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

MindLooker91 November 10th, 2023

@MindLooker91    It's been 5 months but I praise God every day. Only one doctor has believed me and my therapist does. It's is truly a miracle. I was in danger of seizures from quitting like that. But I had no fear.

Sunisshiningandsoareyou November 22nd, 2023

Humbly I bless you in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. You're precious - created in the image of God. Must you (and I) feel the abundant of love Jesus Christ has for us today.

Hello crew! I just found out my son struggled academically this last semester. I'm requesting prayers/thoughts/beams for him that he would be able to square to the challenges, learn from them, and become stronger through this process. I'm very proud of him and think this is a small blip, but it is also something we have to face and solve. Thank you!

SparkyGizmo December 14th, 2023

@GlenM

Hi Glen! 😊 ❤️ I bowed my head and I prayed for you and yours over my key board and in front of this screen. I will keep you and your son as well as the rest of the family in my thoughts and prayers. Also, sending you *beams* ✨ and *beams* ✨ for him too.

I like your approach, remaining proud of him, seeing it as a small blip, but a blip that has not gone unnoticed. It's nice that you are willing to share the load in an effort to help him to face it all and help address it with him. It's nice to know that he doesn't have to face this alone and I imagine a great feeling for him to know that he is still loved. ❤️

In an effort to bring you a bit of comfort, many students struggle. Some need a moment to adjust to their new found freedom, get a bit out of their system and then remember the reason they are there. Some need to learn effective time management skills, organize their surroundings as well as their minds. Mom's not there to wake you up anymore so you gotta' be "in it to win it" lol 😊

Some have a hard time understanding what it is that the professors are saying to them as the words used to explain certain concepts might be new verbiage. The concept being taught may be hard enough to grasp and at times, professors may not understand that the words used to explain it all is well above what students are used to hearing.

I imagine you will do your very best to help him "tease" all of this apart to figure out where the problems lie. And agreed, he'll become stronger through this. Him dealing with this situation is a valuable part of the learning process and some of the great things that we as people learn when going off to college. I see it as part of the process. Package deal! Weeeeeeeeeeeee weeeeeeeee! 😊

As an aside, to bring you hope, a true story of one student who went off to college, struggled and was failing horribly... no worries. Everyone is different. Some need a moment to acclimate. Well, they ended up making Deans list every semester, awarded as The Deans Perfect Scholar their senior year, graduated Summa C8m Laude as the top 2% in the nation, earned their Masters as an undergraduate and did research for 2 of the most prolific professors on campus all while working and putting themselves through school. Awards from all of the honor societies and were even nominated for U.S.A Todays "Best and Brightest".  Yup, truth is stranger than fiction some times, lol 😊 Never give up! Some things just need a little bit of time.

*hugs* 😇 ❤️

@SparkyGizmo thank you for your prayers Sparky! I just had a good call with him and we made a comprehensive plan with 2x weekly video calls. I think he is in good shape now. I was giving him a lot of space to differentiate. I think that part of it worked well, but he realizes he needs to tighten things up now and I'm sure he will. Thank you again 🙏

@GlenM

You are most welcome my friend! 😊 ❤️ I'm happy to be here for you and in essence, here for him as well through supporting you and your efforts as well as praying!

I'm glad that you were able to reach out to him, have a moment, come up with an action plan together that sounds incredibly beneficial to him. It's great for a parent to allow their child space, an opportunity to spread their wings when leaving the nest and do the wait and see approach on how it is that they may or may not adjust, how quickly, etc.

It's wise to give them the space to differentiate while also being at the ready to "hem" them back in when needed. It's a lot of responsibility for young adults and many times it can come too fast. Having that face time with you 2x weekly I imagine will bring him a great deal of comfort, help to provide a bit of consistency with having you available as a sounding board, cheerleader, etc. as well as an accountability partner.

It's good that he has come to the realization that it's time to "tighten things up". Being highly self governed typically isn't their forte' at this age for young adults.  I'm sure as you know, the brain is still growing and developing, not fully formed until 23 or 24 for most young men. The part that is lacking is the executive function. Ta-dah! 💡Glen enters...........stage left, may I re-introduce you to the executive function that is willing to stand in the space until yours comes along. Brilliant and *high fives* 😊

Many young adults are used to answering to their parents and not doing so on a daily basis can be difficult for them at first. It can even be a bit scary for some. Seeing your face, hearing your voice and on a consistent basis can even lead to the "implied presence" for decision making on the daily. Nope, you ain't gone, you are still there. lol 😊

*high fives* 😊 big *hugs* ❤️ and please be rest assured, I will continue to pray 😇

GlenM December 15th, 2023

@SparkyGizmo very well said! yes the young adult brain takes a long time to "bake" to completion. in fact I don't know if we ever really get there. thanks again for the prayers and support. he is home now. we just had another long conversation about things and we better understand some of the challenges and were able to design ways to overcome them. onward and upward!

Dear Glen and family,

Please know I'm thinking of you and praying for you and your son and the rest of your family, too.  Things that are really tough for one person of the family affect the rest of the family in small, medium, or big ways - whether we want to acknowledge that or not :\  I will pray that you may have a festive Christmas and a good holiday celebration time, hopefully together as a family :)

And prayers too that your son would learn what he needs to learn from this past semester and to be willing to do the hard work of figuring out what comes next.  If it were for me, I'd ask that God would help me to know more clearly what He(God) would like for me to do - different major in school?  different university? keep most things the same?  or for me again, humble self and look for help or accept the help that is available.  However it is for your son, I am confident that God knows and He knows the future plans for your son (and your entire family).

I am thankful that you are able and willing to share with us here, @GlenM  :)  That I hope we, as members and listeners, can support and uplift you as well.  Take good care, Mr Glen :) and may God bless you as you finish the year 2023 and prepare to look toward the next things in 2024!

Merry Christmas! :) 🎄  with 💜💕 love and 🤗 hugs!  ~ Platy

and those are all excellent points and questions. he is just getting started in his college career, so the aim is to find something he likes to do, is good at, and can make a living doing. i think he is on the right track, but we will be seeking guidance from above and following the river as things unfold.
