12 Relationship Tips
The following are some tips you can follow to gently improve your relationship with your partner and to get the most out of it! ☺
1. Take it in turns to talk
2. Listen
Actually listen to what they say, don't just think about what you'll say next.
3. Have a few days apart
Absence makes the heart grow fonder!
4. Put your phones away
5. Stop needing to be right
Being able to admit you were wrong is so valuable in any relationship.
6. Find out what you need and ask for it
Your partner isn't a psychic and they'll likely want to provide what you need.
7. Compliment them often
8. Acknowledge the positive
If you partner does something good that benefits the relationship, acknowledge it and encourage them to keep it up.
9. Only one person gets to have the bad day
If they've had a really bad day and your day was just average with some annoyances, let them have pity and do all the things they like. It turns the attention to them and they'll feel supported and hopefully better at the end of the day.
10. Let it go
Don't hold onto something your partner did or said months before and bring it up whenever you argue.
11. Ask for clarity
If you're confused by your partner's actions/what they said, ask them to explain instead of making an assumption.
12. Take care of yourself
Don't get so invested in your partner that you forget about yourself!

@SilentSerenityy Thank you for some great tips. I needed to be reminded of these proactive ways to keep your relationship moving forward this week. Great food for thought!
Thanks for the Post Serenity... those are some excellent Tips!
@SilentSerenityy..very good tips.. thank you :)
#3 and #12 are things that are screwing up my marriage. I am w/him 24/7 and I revolve my life around him. He lives in the pioneer days where the women were submissive housewives and that is what he expects me to be. I have been w/him for almost 6 years, but it has taken it's toll on me. But now I am pregnant. lol
@SilentSerenityy Very good tips indeed :) However I would put the 12. Take care of Yourself, higher up in the ranking (if there is such a thing). Of course taking care of the other is just as high of a priority but only if you are truly alright, because you took care of yourself, you can be there for the other :)
@SilentSerenityy I'll definitely use this <3
@SilentSerenityy Thanks for posting these! It would be helpful for those in relationships!
@SilentSerenityy Great tips! :)
Selecting the right life partner is necessary to lead a happy married life. Here's how you can select your perfect one
There are many factors that one needs to consider when choosing a life partner.
The most important aspect is to consider things that are crucial to you.
Find someone who you can connect with easily
It is very important to choose somebody who you can easily strike a conversation with.
This way, you can enjoy doing things and talking about them together without getting bored.
Potential partner with same interests
Selecting someone who shares a lot of common interests with you will work in your favour.
Remember that all your interests don't really have to be the same, but some would do. Says clinical psychologist and
relationship expert Seema Hingorrany, "When you decide to spend your life with someone, you must look at things that
the two of you would love to do together. For example, if you are a movie buff, you would ideally like to be with someone
who enjoys movies as well. This will make your life interesting."
Consider your partner's intellect
If you are a laid-back person and your partner is an over-achiever,
that could lead to a threat in your marriage. You must see eye to eye on how both of you are able to think and
process things.
It's okay to have standards
While choosing a life partner, you need to consider your and your family's standards.
Though it's okay to choose someone who probably does not belong to the same strata of society as yours, make sure that
he/she's not completely off the mark.
You should have respect for one another
You obviously cannot spend your life with someone who has no respect for you or your dreams/goals or your personality.
So, choose someone who will acknowledge you for the rest of your life.
Is your potential trustworthy
In this day and age, it is extremely important to choose someone you can trust.
You definitely cannot lead a happy marriage if you cannot trust each other or have faith.
Spend time together
Just as important as it is to have similar interests, it is also crucial to be with someone who gives you enough time and
who you would love to spend time with.
@SilentSerenityy these are very helpful tips. Thanks1 <3
