Uplifting quotes & Inspiring Thoughts

Eugene March 22nd, 2014

I hope you can help me add uplifting and inspiring quotes here.

Hope is important because it can make the present moment less difficult to bear. If we believe that tomorrow will be better, we can bear a hardship today.

I just remembered that there is a poem called Litany Against Fear, from by Frank Herbert's book, Dune. I like to repeat it to myself in times of distress:

"I will not fear.

Fear is the mind-killer.

Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.

I will face my fear.

I will permit it to pass over me and through me.

And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

Each day is a new day. Let your happiness begin again, let your light shine, let your love flow and remember to smile. :) Take things one day at a time and everyone is on their own journey .

@Celty, I love that you brought this up! It's such a beautiful perspective, to perceive fractures, our scars and bruises, as a form of art, a proof of being tested by time and space.

It reminds me a poem by Ellen Bass:

"What would people look like
if we could see them as they are,
soaked in honey, stung and swollen,
reckless, pinned against time?"

I totally share your view ! As a teen I used to say that roads are to the earth what scars are to human beings : they guide us.

If you think positive thoughts u attract positivity into your life. Think good thoughts. When you see negativity coming on...change your thoughts. If you feel good..you are feeling good.

Love it. It's a beautiful quote and very inspiring. Thank you for sharing. I'm almost sure that it was first attributed to Groucho Marx.

It reminds me of another quote that I love, "The wound is the place where the light enters you." - Rumi
