I welcome anyone to commit to a goal here today.
But importantly, talk about getting it done..... or why it didn't happen yet.
To praise each other for our efforts and wins.
While supporting each other through trials and setbacks.
And to continue trying and not give up.
Remember:
Every Goal should be considered "Worthy".
Never belittle your achievements and be proud of yourself for your daily accomplishments!
Whether they be Complex or Simple.
Getting out of bed is a good day..... Good job I say!
Share your goals today, for support and encouragement.
Do Your Best and Get Your rest.
Things are usually much harder then we think. Do your best. Be kind to yourself and Be kind to others.

@IsayUncle I actually felt guilty for falling asleep twice over the weekend. Think I'm still having trouble with the diet. Probably shouldn't have done the tarts (those were the culprits I think). There are so many things that I've cut out that it gets frustrating.
Anyways, I didn't get as much cleaning done over the weekend as I had planned to and now I have to figure out how to afford a new floor lamp because my current one got hit with some static electricity and killed it. Never happened before so I wasn't prepared for it.
Still have to resubmit my last assignment (reused a paper for the formatting and forgot to change a heading) and I need to do an executive summary for the next assignment but right now I'm writing the reports for the accounts that showed up on my last monthly report. Have four to do and then I suppose I should get caught up on the daily assignments again.
@Enthenia
You probably needed the rest, so no guilt please. 😁
Sorry to hear about your lamp. every little expense is a big expense when money is short. 😔
Hang in there with the assignments, you're doing well. 😀
@IsayUncle still need to work on it. Got bogged down with work again. Was having problems with Word. Every time I saved a change in the document, I had to close and open it to see the text. And I had assorted annoyances.
It turned out to be a typical Monday.
Happy Monday.....Because I barely get in here to contribute anymore....I've decided to post a Monday Motivation for you all.....Hang in there, stay strong, keep your mind set on the end result...... and remember....we are all here to listen and support.....you are not alone....
This week is off with a bang. Snow to clean up. Had to fix an outside faucet because it rust through and broke. Had a 10 ft geyser of water 😅 It's currently 9 degrees with a wind chill of -7 It's freaking cold out! Think warm thoughts folks! Have a good week!
@mytwistedsoul
That's terrible.... i'm sorry to hear it. 🙁
@IsayUncle Ikr? I'm ready for spring 😐 Totally over the winter experience
@mytwistedsoul
This harsh winter, out of the gate, he's really messing me up pretty bad too. We have already exceeded our yearly average for snowfall. And then these hard freezes afterwards is just messing everything up. Both my steep driveways are exactly that, steep. A ton of extra work just to function for the week. Not that I need to very much because it has shut me down work wise.
So yeah, I am with you 100%. Ready for spring!
This is the perfect situation, to embrace the wisdom of, " this too shall pass"
@IsayUncle I hear you on the steepness and snow. My lane is like that too. It sucks that your work has been put on hold because of the cold though. I know you had a couple of jobs in the works. The cold is hard on equipment too. 😕 I should take advantage of the cold and get things done in the house. My organization skills border on "there appears to have been a struggle" 😅
@mytwistedsoul
I have a makeshift septic system. It's very efficient for a single guy but it is above ground (Except the field lines, which are proper). The tanks froze up solid on me. I never saw that one coming. So, Needless to say, I had a pretty S****y day yesterday.😬😫.
Resubmitted the assignment with the correct course on the title page! Now trying to get caught up with the daily reports that I didn't get to yesterday because of other technical annoyances.
Also thought I had a dentist appointment this week and scheduled a doctor's visit the same day only to get a message from the dentist saying it was next week. Then they called wanting to reschedule because my regular dentist is taking extra leave for health reasons and wanted to work me in with the other dentist. Those phone calls came when I was dealing with annoyances at work and then the phone wouldn't work and it was getting close for me to leave for the day and I wanted to go to the restroom because I hadn't been in a few hours....
I was able to get the appointment rescheduled to February using the receptionist's phone in the front office and I was able to get to the restroom but it was everything happening at once which is usually the way of things.
Working on no. 5. Only 2 left after this one.
@Enthenia
You sure had a doozy of a day. I'm glad that you got most of them done, only two to go.😀
@IsayUncle today wasn't much better. Walked because of the bus being late every Monday and Tuesday for the past month and a half. Was on time today. Connection was delayed but I missed it because I was still across the street. Would have caught it had I waited for the bus (of course then it probably would have been late). Next one was a little late.
Let the dog out and instead of taking out her favorite outside toy, she chose a frisbee that I was going to throw away. She destroyed it at the park and was happy chasing the fabric remains even though it didn't really fly. My hand got bit because I reached for it just as she lunged to shake it. The pain isn't as bad as it was. But my hand which was getting better from the scratches the cat gave me, is red again.
@Enthenia
oh boy, oh boy, oh boy.... NO PET TREATS!!!
I hope your hand gets to feeling better so typing isn't very bad..
I had a really bad day yesterday. We are having extremely harsh, cold weather this week and it froze up my septic system causing a leak under my house. YUCK, and what do I do now... ? Arrrrrgh! I don't have any money for a plumber so I have to fix it myself on top of everything else that I'm trying to do.☹️☹️☹️☹️
@IsayUncle it's okay. Just more scratched up than usual. She didn't mean to do it and I didn't think she'd be so interested in a broken toy. Or maybe it's just been a while since the last one she broke. Threw it away once we left the dog area. She wanted to go back and get it.
This morning I had difficulties too so I guess it's one of those weeks.
Septic repairs does not sound like a fun way to spend the day...
Time is slipping away... I just want to lay down and sleep.... I will push past my tiredness to get the kitchen done... Unless I change my mind by the time I walk to the kitchen....🙄🥱😖
I've stopped eating a lot of comfort foods and junk foods but I still feel perpetually tired.
I did finish the kitchen so now I will take a nap.
Got my paper written! Five pages excluding the title and reference pages. Need to check the slide presentation and then I can submit it.
@Enthenia
Rock and Roll..... That's awesome!
@IsayUncle it's submitted and I passed the previous assignment. Have to research an issue related to ethics for the next assignment. Will work on that next. Then one last assignment and I will be done.
Tomorrow I get to get up later, play with the dog, hold the cat and go to my appointment. They'll probably tell me to exercise more. Which I will be doing next week. I've given up taking the bus in the afternoon. It's late more often than not. I'll just walk the mile down to catch the connection. Not sure what to do if that one decides not to show... It's four miles to home.
@Enthenia
Oh Noooo !!!! Another headache to worry about. Is there any way to meet the bus on an earlier rotation? I know you would lose time out of your day but maybe that time can be used up getting extra work done, (for schooling or work), if you get there early? 🤔.
4 miles IS a long way to walk. Walking to the other bus stop doesn't sound so bad though. It's kind of a forced exercise so maybe that's not a bad solution. 😅
@IsayUncle no. I already get up at 3:45 in the morning so I can walk the dog before work. The bus that takes me closest to the office doesn't run that early.
It was on time yesterday because it passed me on the mile walk down. I've just gotten tired of waiting to see if the bus is on time or not.
Out of curiosity, I looked at the prices of a folding bike but they're over my price range at the moment (need to figure out how to get a new lamp). I could get a regular bike but I don't think it would be safe chained up outside the office. I could bring a folding one inside and put it under my desk.
I'd rather take a bike than walk when the warm weather sets in.
@Enthenia
ya, absolutey genius, the bike angle..... those folding bikes are very expensive.
Do they have tag sales, yard sales, flea markets in your area? I know it's not fancy or nothing, but you can often pick up a regular bicycle at a very cheap price and sometime because they're used like that, people don't really wanna steal it. Just an idea to get you by until you can get your lamp and then maybe afford a folding bicycle.
Either way, the bicycle approach is genius! 😀
@IsayUncle well I do have an umbrella for the warmer weather. There are yard sales but most of them are in areas that I couldn't get to by bus. And, it would be a hit and a miss.
With the bike, there are a few sporting goods store about which would be easier to get to than yard sales. I'd have to check stock first.
I'll probably have to get a new pair of shoes before I can do a bike
My doctor seemed surprised that I walk a mile a few times a week. Really don't have an alternative since the bus is unreliable. Of course, she seemed miffed that I wasn't monitoring my glucose. Was never told specifically to do so so why would I? Believe I lost more weight from the previous time. I don't really eat much of anything anymore and I have to walk in the afternoons during the week.
@Enthenia
I grew up bicycling (a lot) from childhood through high school...then the car came into the picture. I have not bicycled much since then. We bicycled in all weather conditions but in reality that's not plausible as adults.
I hadn't thought about the weather conditions when we were talking about bicycling. that is important to consider as a reality check.
And I guess any reason to buy new shoes is a good reason. 😁.
It sounds like your doctor is really conscientious about helping you with your health. it doesn't always feel good to be held accountable but it's good to have somebody that tries to push you in the right direction.
@IsayUncle I learned when I went to college in KS, riding a bicycle in high winds is impossible. We get wind warnings quite frequently where I am. That's why finding an umbrella was so tedious. I had to get one that could stand up to the wind.
I don't know about the doctor. I've never been told specifically that I have anything. I wanted to mention the millisecond pauses I get in breathing sometimes but didn't. I mean, aside from the blood sugar and the weight, I'm pretty healthy.
@Enthenia
That's awesome about your health. Blood sugar and weight "CAN" be seriuos but it sounds like you try pretty hard to keep those in control. Bicycling would be so awesome towards that. (@CyclingThroughLife does/or did a lot of cycling). I can only remember a couple of times where the wind almost blew me off my bike. But it never did.😁.
@IsayUncle well the winds here can go from 0 to 45 in minutes and the last time it was really windy, I saw someone on a bike and was wondering how they stayed on.
As for the health thing, I looked at glucose monitors and those are pricey. Also not sure if I want anything implanted (some are made that way). The ones that have test strips are cheaper but that would be another thing to keep track of. Since it all comes down to diet, it seems easier to work on that.
I'm super tired but i'm going to push past my limtations to get some chores done so i don't have to do them in the morning.
1) A group of things - start a pot roast dinner - clean kitchen floor from very muddy outdoor conditions - charge batteries and put tools away.
