Meditation is known to boost our mental health and well - being. When meditation is used along side mindfulness it allows us to release stress we have so we may feel calm and have comfort. Stress makes us release hormones known as adrenaline to where our heart rate rises and our breathing is fast.

Meditation can be simple as sitting in our chairs and just retraining ourselves to calm down our rapid heart beat and slow our breathing down.

@pamharley003

Great post pam, thank you for sharing this information!

After meditation, even if it's a short one for just 10 minutes, I always feel calmer and more centered. Other things that help me to improve my mental health are coming here, gardening and just trying to do one fun activity per day. It can be as simple as watching a funny video. The more I teach my brain to feel happy and laugh the lighter life becomes.

I am finding a way to incorporate mindfulness, meditation and yoga together so it will help me each day

Love this! It is so true. I don't think we realize how much we can change, shift and improve our mood and thought patterns, even quality of life.

Thank you for your great post!

1. After meditating, I feel much much calmer. I also see Reality from a more fundamental perspective. Like the big big picture (this also helps me feel calmer, less anxious with the day to day problems in my life). And know better what's going on in my mind, having observed my thoughts come and go.

2. Good sleep, cultivating healthy relationships, and reading inspirational and wise books are important to me. Good sleep in particular is absolutely essential for my health and wellbeing.

When you meditate how do you feel afterwards?

I feel more myself. More normal,  more human, more able to make decisions. More like the person I imagine myself to be.

Or I fall asleep and feel nothing😴 💤 😆.

After meditation, I always feel more at peace and my mind is clear and focused. It's easier to stay present and I enjoy the benefits of meditation. I have not been doing it nearly as enough as I would want to.

Other things I do to improve my mental health is being active outside and walking every day.

I'm still trying to get the hang of meditation. Been trying for just over a week. Still trying though.
