Hello Leadership Crew!
I am having a blast with you all. This leadership program is a lot of fun and Im glad we are doing it. I think itll help across many fronts. Shout out to @aleks2 and @quietmagic for their help looking at the first batch of results on our leadership composition. ÃÂ
Here is a summary:
Here is a summary from @quietmagic on what our collective - all of us together - strengths and weaknesses might be:
Leadership Crew Strengths:
Altruism/motivation: Having a deep passion for helping people that drives all we do and creates a feeling of purpose and meaning
Idealism: Having inspiring dreams and visions of just how unbelievably powerful and beneficial this site can be: imagining all of the good we might be able to create, all of the suffering we might be able to help heal
Kindness: Being able to create a kind, cooperative, culture that is gentle and considerate with people's feelings
Compassion: Being able to understand, connect with, and feel an urgency to resolve the needs, concerns, or problems of the people that we serve
Relationship: Feeling a yearning for deep, meaningful connections with others, creating a community where people are able to be authentic and feel a sense of belongingness
Leadership Crew Weaknesses
Practical implementation: Developing and optimizing systems, managing the fine details for concretely achieving our broad goals
Risk-taking: Being willing to take risks or make drastic changes to existing systems/practices where needed
The above analysis feels/seems right to me. This new leadership program in fact can be seen as one way that we are attempting to address a growth area by optimizing our leadership systems! And, zooming back, if there was going to be a team of people that was going to try to pull off the impossible (a free emotional support system), then I think itd be with the leadership composition described above under strengths. Itll take a lot of optimism and kindness to make this a reality!
Okay, lets transition to the next exercise and discussion.
Begin by taking the Big 5 test and answering the following questions. You can also read more on the Big 5 here ÃÂ and below.
1. What were the main things you learned about yourself?
2. What are your top 3 strengths according to this test?
3. How can the strengths you identified on both tests help you in your personal life?
4. How can the strengths you identified on both tests help you in a leadership role on 7 Cups and in your career?
After fulfilling the requirements of this post, please check out the next post here! You must take part in the brainstorming/activities given in all of these posts to successfully complete the program.
This post is brought to you by the Leadership Development Program Team, find out more information about the program here.
Closed-Minded Open to New Experiences (90%)
"You enjoy having novel experiences and seeing things in new ways."
Disorganized Conscientious (48%)
"You are neither organized nor disorganized."
Introverted Extraverted (56%)
"You are neither particularly social nor reserved."
Disagreeable Agreeable (77%)
"You tend to consider the feelings of others."
Calm / Relaxed Nervous / High-Strung (65%)
"You tend to become anxious or nervous."
Main things I learned about myself:
I did not particularly learn anything new but, I could confirm certain things about my own personality. I used to think that I am an introvert but, after taking the test I came to realize I am neutral, neither introvert nor extrovert.
My top 3 strengths are:
1. Openness:
Being open-minded is an excellent trait. Because of being open-minded one can have a good sense of understanding and creativity.
2. Neither introverted nor extraverted:
I think being socially neutral is a good thing as I enjoy "me" time but, I don't face trouble adjusting in people's company.
3. Agreeableness
The strengths I identified in both tests helped me see a clear vision of my personality. Being passionate and principled can definitely be good traits for my personal life. Not settling for "good enough" makes sure that I will not let anyone treat me the wrong way and no one will be able to break my mindset.
The strengths I identified on both tests can definitely bring me success in my professional life. Being a perfectionist, pushes me through my limits to give my best at everything I do. Being creative can help me through the journey as a listener as it gives me a strong sense of compassion and imagination which makes me understanding. My open-minded trait makes me open to learning and growing so, it is definitely suitable trait for 7 cups.

3. How can the strengths you identified on both tests help you in your personal life?
In my personal life, I love dealing with ethical and humanitarian problems. I try to go deep and take care of the problem right from its roots. The strengths identified can help me explore scopes and dimensions untouched by me. I believe there are various facets of human personality yet to be known, understood, analysed and recorded(by me). Though massive surveys help understand anthropological and evolutionary concepts, a lot remains unknown and unexplored(by researchers in general). I keep meeting people who have varied views to things, be it life, material, matter, emotion, spiritualism or socialism. I believe my strengths can help me connect more, adapt more, and comprehend these new and hitherto unknown and unexplored personality types.
4. How can the strengths you identified on both tests help you in a leadership role on 7 Cups and in your career?
The strengths identified can help me be more focussed. It would help me move at a faster pace towards my upcoming milestone. I can feel that already. It is already giving me a boost. I can also feel confident towards helping those who need it while I am on my growth journey in 7cups as well in my career and life.
Thanks :)
Keep Smiling :)
@justloveyoursmile
That is a really good evaluation on yourself, Good job
@justloveyoursmile Very nice evaluation! It is something like ideal for me, ideal of what I'd like to be. Completely don't want to feel desperate about my found weaknesses (as they are many), because firstly, I found my strengths even if they are little and not many and secondly, because I see that better people exist so I can have hopes and strive to be better than I was.
@justloveyoursmile
I love how you explained your evaluation! I really find it interesting when you talked about how your strengths applied to your personal life since you are right in that there are aspects of human personalities that need to be known and interpreted! :)
Glad there's a more valid and reliable test in this course than the MBTI.
1. What were the main things you learned about yourself?
To be honest, I've done the Big-5 and MBTI multiple times in the past so it's a bit hard to say what I've learned about myself. That being said, I've learnt that it is possible to be an agreeable person despite my "emotional instability". I would disagree that emotional instability is a bad thing.. on the contrary, I've become a more empathetic person as a result of my tussles with adversity. There is nothing wrong with being unhappy, prone to negative emotions, and anxiety. Anxiety has a protective function and is a spectrum. There's also the idea of depressive realism: I tend to see all shades of the world rather than just expecting myself to be happy all the time and I'm more prepared for difficult situations that elicit negative emotions because of my resilience from years of feeling unhappy often. When I do feel happy, I appreciate it a lot more. I also don't engage in toxic positivity. I see value in all of my emotions.
What are your top 3 strengths according to this test?
If I discount Emotional Stability as a strength, then they would be:
Openness: High scorers tend to be original, creative, curious, complex; Low scorers tend to be conventional, down to earth, narrow interests, uncreative. You enjoy having novel experiences and seeing things in new ways. (Your percentile: 99). I'm curious, have a wide range of interests, and am independent.
Agreeableness High scorers tend to be good natured, sympathetic, forgiving, courteous; Low scorers tend to be critical, rude, harsh, callous. You are good-natured, courteous, and supportive. (Your percentile: 98) I'm helpful, trusting, and empathetic.
Extraversion High scorers tend to be sociable, friendly, fun loving, talkative; Low scorers tend to be introverted, reserved, inhibited, quiet. You are neither particularly social or reserved. (Your percentile: 42)
I am a good mix of sociable and quiet. I can find peace being with myself and being with others. I'm both quiet, withdrawn and reserved; as well as outgoing, warm, and adventure seeking.
How can the strengths you identified on both tests help you in your personal life?
1. My Openness and Open-Mindedness relate to my acceptance of people regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender identity, country of origin, health, and various other factors that one might discriminate against. I have made a wide range of friends across the world from diverse backgrounds.
2. My Agreeableness and Generosity gave helped me to make friends easily and relate to people empathetically. These traits mean I have a tendency to want to share happiness and positivity with people around me which could strengthen relationships
3.My Thoughtfulness and Ambiversion have helped me to form some kind of relationship with every person I meet. With the kindness I naturally emanate and my authencity, I am able to connect with people on a deeper level by expressing myself emotionally.
How can the strengths you identified on both tests help you in a leadership role on 7 Cups and in your career?
1. Openness and Open-mindedness I am a problem solver who can always find a new approach to a problem and solve it. I can also make things interesting because of my curiousity, love of learning, and complexity. This will help me to be more tolerant of others.
2. My Agreeableness and Generosity relate to my deep sense of empathy and compassion. I always wish the best for others so I will make a conscious effort to ensure everyone I am leading is having their needs me. I am very contemplative when it comes to predicting how my actions my affect others in a mindful manner which is strengthened my by innate kindness and desire to help others. It will make it easier for me work with others since I am good natured and trustworthy, always willing to hear people out.
3. My Thoughtfulness and ambiversion will help me to find a good balance between co-operation and socialising AND drawing boundaries and spending time with myself to recharge.
@GlenM

What aspects of personality does this tell me about?
There has been much research on how people describe others, and five major dimensions of human personality have been found. They are often referred to as the OCEAN model of personality, because of the acronym from the names of the five dimensions. Here are your results:
Open-Mindedness High scorers tend to be original, creative, curious, complex; Low scorers tend to be conventional, down to earth, narrow interests, uncreative. You are relatively open to new experiences. (Your percentile: 77)
Conscientiousness High scorers tend to be reliable, well-organized, self-disciplined, careful; Low scorers tend to be disorganized, undependable, negligent. You are very well-organized, and can be relied upon. (Your percentile: 80)
Extraversion High scorers tend to be sociable, friendly, fun loving, talkative; Low scorers tend to be introverted, reserved, inhibited, quiet. You are extremely outgoing, social, and energetic. (Your percentile: 94)
Agreeableness High scorers tend to be good natured, sympathetic, forgiving, courteous; Low scorers tend to be critical, rude, harsh, callous. You are good-natured, courteous, and supportive. (Your percentile: 86)
Negative Emotionality High scorers tend to be nervous, high-strung, insecure, worrying; Low scorers tend to be calm, relaxed, secure, hardy. You are generally relaxed. (Your percentile: 22)
Question 1 What were the main things you learned about yourself?
I learnt that I am seen as very laid back and relaxed, caring and very well organized! (Which is very true btw)
Question 2 What are your top 3 strengths according to this test?
Very well organized, Caring, And a strong leader :)
Question 3 How can the strengths you identified on both tests help you in your personal life?
I am a trainee Vet, so all the above qualities are so important when working in vetinary care.. A lack of organisation or care could mean the loss of a patient which always devastates me. I always try to be as caring as I can with friends and family, they always seem to come to me with there problems as they know they have a non judgemental ear listening. I think all the qualities from the tests help me become the better me.
Question 4 How can the strengths you identified on both tests help you in a leadership role on 7 Cups and in your career?
I pretty much asnwered this question above :) But as for cups I think as listeners and leaders a caring nature is a must! Also a strong leadership disposition keeps everything under control and respectful on the site, which is also very important.
@GlenM
1. What were the main things you learned about yourself?
I really did not learn anything about myself from this test that I did not already know or feel strongly about who I am as a person. i think the other personality test was better at revealing insight.
2. What are your top 3 strengths according to this test?
There are 5 categories. I am in the 99% for open minded, 86% consienctiousness, 98% extroverted, 92% agreeable and 10% negative emotionality meaning I am very calm and relaxed most of the time.
So, based on the characteristics associated with each category I would have to say the top 3 strengths are:
1. I see things in new ways. Kind of a think outside the box kind of gal. Like new, fresh ideas and new approaches.
2. I am good natured, forgiving and supportive.
3. I remain calm in high tense situations. I enjoy challenges, work well under pressure.
3. How can the strengths you identified on both tests help you in your personal life?
FAMILY/FRIENDS
Fun-loving and talkative...I have enjoyed long term friendships and I am close to my adult children.
4. How can the strengths you identified on both tests help you in a leadership role on 7 Cups and in your career?
CAREER
In a world that is full of "surprises", being able to remain calm and tolerant has been a huge factor in my personal life starting with my early career as an Emergency Medical Technician. I never knew what to expect on an emergency call and most situations were intense especially for the person(s) involved.
I am full of ideas and desire to stay ahead of ever-changing innovations. I find creative solutions to problems and I seek out new ways of doing things during my career as a computer technology expert for over 20 years. Helping others feel more comfortable about technology brings me joy.
Being good natured and supportive has brought me full circle in my latter career where I have fallen back on my psychology degree and crisis counseling certification by providing support to many individuals in a crisis moment and also becoming a listener here with this organization
7Cups Leadership
A natural born leader with gentle assertiveness, I enjoy enspiring others to be the best they can be and provide guidance and support when necessary. My greatest joy is to see a newbie blossom as their success grows.
@GlenM
This is my final result
Open-Mindedness
You typically don't seek out new experiences. (Your percentile: 48)
Conscientiousness
You probably have a messy desk! (Your percentile: 1)
Extraversion
You are neither particularly social or reserved. (Your percentile: 47)
Agreeableness
You are neither extremely forgiving nor irritable. (Your percentile: 51)
Negative Emotionality
You are generally relaxed.
1. What were the main things you learned about yourself?
A. I learned that I'm not as forgiving as I thought and when I thought of it now, I felt like that is true because maybe I forgive but sometimes it's a little hard to forgive and sometimes I feel somewhat careless about people around me in daily situations but I'm always there for them when they need me.
B. I learned that I'm calmer that I thought I am because sometimes I get really stressed whenever i start a project or participate in something very new to me
C. It said that I don't seek new experiences which is not accurate because I'm a very curious person who always searches for new opportunities and never says no to one
D. I though I was more introverted
2. What are your top 3 strengths according to this test?
. Open-mindedness
. Agreeableness
. Relaxed
3. How can the strengths you identified on both tests help you in your personal life?
I believe that my open-mindedness will help me accept others more no matter how different we are or how different our personalities are. I shall still respect their opinion and work with them while giving the team a lot of life. I think with my relaxation I will be capable of resolving anything without any conflicts and be able to control my emotions while letting my mind take the lead when it's needed. I think being imaginative will help me find creative paths and choices that could be not so ordinary which could help make everyday life easier and make me take the best decisions which already imagining all outcomes before they come to life. My curiosity drives me to great extends and makes me want to know lots of new information while never getting bored.
4. How can the strengths you identified on both tests help you in a leadership role on 7 Cups and in your career?
Open-mindedness will help make me a better listener who understands others and never judges their actions, beliefs and their personalities because they came to 7 cups out of all the other places in the whole world to feel listened and not judged. I sometimes encounter troubling, sad, frustrating chats here on 7 cups that I used to overreact to in the past but then I realized that I shouldn't put my emotions in place of another person's so I could understand them and emphasize with them. I learned that I can emphasize with members here just by listening to them and not literally putting myself in their place. My imaginary will help me find different ways to break the traditional and common ways of seeing a problem and could help me communicate with the member in a different way while trying to imagine their reaction if I said anything. My curiosity was the one that got me to this leadership program so I think this is a good reply lol
