Course 4. Foundational Leadership Principles: (Discussion #4) Lead Within the Community

Welcome back, crew! We've discussed leading yourself and others. Let's talk about leading ÃÂ within the community!
A car is a ÃÂ system that has different levels of components. Each component is a system in itself like engine, accelerator, gears, clutch, tires, seats, front deck, mirrors, and so on. Each of these components is also a system too. But when they are integrated into one big system, it comprises the bigger picture as a car which facilitates movement from one place to another. ÃÂ
Similarly, 7Cups is a system. A system of small systems that have their own defined set of goals but contributing towards a bigger goal (community goal).
When you are a lead of a project, you are not just leading your own project but also within the community as well. Examples: Verified Listener Program, Active Listening Tests, Listener Coaching, Quality Mentor, Listener Support Chat Rooms, and so on are individual projects that contribute to supporting a user to become a better listener to support the member they listen to and the community at large. Everyone is functioning as an integral part of the system. ÃÂ
To ensure the smooth operation of your system and the whole system, you need to collaborate with other community and project leaders to problem solve and be well synced. ÃÂ
Everything is interlinked and interconnected. You are part of the community and leading within the community. And, when everyone collectively gathers together to achieve one purpose, we are cultivating a sense of community solidarity.

I am a part of this community as a listener and a peer to others. As an individual, I am a listener who supports members one-on-one. In a team, I co-host LCI and occasional events, and take part in doing peer appreciations in the peer appreciation program. In the community, I am another friendly face who hopefully makes the environment a bit more welcoming.

Give an example of how you are part of this community and how are you contributing as an individual, as a team, and within the community.
~I am a part of this community as an active listener with leadership responsibilities and as a member who receives support.
~Individually, I contribute by listening to and supporting members as well as helping them in learning and growing. I look to lead by example. I want to spread as much kindness and love and happiness to the members and listeners and all in the community, making as many people feel cared for and supported and not alone as possible.
~As a member of the sharing circle team and teen discussions, I contribute as part of a team by leading sessions, working towards a positive community. Being a kind and reliable and consistent host. Within the sessions, I aim to be thoughtful and compassionate while growing our communities' empathy and knowledge and cups overarching mission.
~Within the community, I contribute by assisting and supporting everyone, in learning and growing. In the community, I am a kind and warm face in chat rooms and pms. I’m contributing within the community by continuously learning and improving myself including working on self-care, while supporting others.

as a individual i try to i try to represent well this website to newcomers amd helping member and other listeners.

One example that shows that I am part of this community is being encouraging and helping people feel comfortable to share what’s on their mind! I am contributing individually by making sure to put others individuals’ needs as top priority. I am contributing as a team by encouraging my team members and helping inspire them to continue on their goals to becoming leaders. I contribute to the community by involving myself in listener chats and earning badges!

An example of how I am part of this community is that I do my best to listen and support members. I contribute as an individual by improving my listening skills. I’m a part of this community because I am a listener and talk to the member’s and try to help them with whatever they need to talk about. I also talk to other listeners that needs someone to talk to also.
Give an example of how you are part of this community and how are you contributing as an individual, as a team, and within the community; I am part of this Community by helping both listeners and members! I am a Group Mod so I am trying both to help this Community by making it a safer and a more enjoyable place for everyone and it also helps me to grow as a person and develop some amazing skills that a leader requires! I am also in the Verifiers Team, so I verify listeners! It's so amazing seeing listeners showing me their different active listening skills in action! I love to help them and guide them into growing in our Community and helping our wonderful members!

Individual - being there from a 1-on-1 perspective
Team - Working to become a mentor on 7cups
Community - Engaging in group chats and offering support to those who need it, member or listener
