Friendly Reminders:

🌻 Maybe some things don’t get better, but we do. We grow stronger. We learn to live with the messiness and adapt to what we can’t change. We may not always be fully okay, but we’re here, trying our best—and that’s worth celebrating too. 🎉

🌻 Your feelings are valid, and you have every right to express them. It’s okay to feel deeply, and remember that you won’t always feel the same way you do right now.

🌻 Mistakes are part of being human, and every choice you make, every feeling you have, makes sense in the bigger picture of your life. Someone else, in your shoes, would likely feel just the same.

🌻 And most importantly, love yourself, speak yourself, because:

🌻"Life gets hard, and it gets messed up,

When you give so much, but it’s not enough,

When the highs are too high, and the lows are too low,

Don’t let it kill you—don’t let it break your heart." ❤️

🌻 Healing does not mean the damage never existed. It means the damage no longer controls our lives

 ─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───

Let’s Walk Together:

Sometimes, being human can feel heavy. Life can feel overwhelming, and the weight of our thoughts can be too much. Whether it's panic, sadness, anger, frustration, or numbness—you don’t have to face it alone. I will not have all the answers, but dark places are so much less scary when you’re not alone.

A better way to do New Year's Resolutions: 2025 Bingo
Grief & Loss / by CaringEzra

...See more Hey Everyone!✨ Happy 2025 🎊. I hope the new year is treating you well so far! It is that time of year where everyone is making resolutions for the new year but if you are like me, new year's resolutions don't quite work. They don't motivate me later in the year if I mess up early on.  this year, let's try something different… 🌟 Let's make new year's bingo cards 🌟 You start with an empty 5 by 5 grid and then in each square you put one thing that you would like to do in the next year. This could be really small like eating freshly made pretzels, learning to make sushi or more ambitious like wanting to attend a certain conference in June.  The magic is in the mindset - there's no failing here. If you don't get to do one of them it's not the end of the world. But when you cross one off, it feels really good. Especially towards the end of the year when resolutions are long forgotten, looking at your bingo card, actually motivates you to do the ones you have left. To even get your years bingo. Ready to play? Here is a blank bingo card: Lets fill them out, and share some of the things you are going to put on your 2025 bingo card!

...See more Grief and Loss Support Check-in  New Years  Hello, lovely grief and loss support community! Welcome to our weekly check-in.  How are we all doing? I hope that the week is being gentle to you and you find time to take care of yourselves. Happy New year friends. We officially have made it through the year and that is a huge accomplishment. I know for me this year has been quite challenging as for many of you. So please be proud of yourself for making it here no matter how you got here, no matter how messy that journey has been. Lately I have been hearing and seeing all about the new year's resolutions so I just want to share a gentle reminder to be gentle with yourself - there's no rule that says you must make dramatic changes just because it's January. Break any goals into very small, manageable steps rather than trying to transform everything at once. And lastly, It's completely normal and valid to struggle during this period. While there's often this pressure to feel renewed and motivated in January, many people experience all the other emotions instead. Whatever you are feeling, it's welcomed and valid here. I wish you all an amazing week and year ahead. I am always here for you and you are not alone.<3 •───────•°•❀•°•───────• I would love to welcome you to participate in some reflection questions!  Our weekly check-ins are an opportunity to get to know each other a little bit better and offer continual support. Feel free to answer as many or as few as you would like. Also, feel free to share anything on your mind or just say hi! Whatever you post; we eagerly await your response! •───────•°•❀•°•───────• Here are some reflections for the week ❀ How are you doing? Emotionally? Physically? Spiritually? ❀ ❀ What hopes or goals do you have for 2025? ❀ ❀ What support do you need this year? Are there any ways that this community can help support those needs for you? ❀ •───────•°•❀•°•───────• We hope you all have a wonderful week. I look forward to hearing everyone’s responses, and please don't hesitate to reach out for support.

Grief And Holidays
Grief & Loss / by CaringEzra

December 25th
...See more Grief And Holidays Hey lovely friends, I hope you are all well and if not, know you are not alone. As everyone around me is hanging up twinkling lights and singing holiday songs, I'm sitting here thinking of you all because let's be honest, this time of year can be incredibly difficult. I have been thinking about the people that I have lost this year and my dad. You see, grief doesn't take a holiday break – it's there for all the festive moments, every tradition, every simple day.  This year has had a fair share of heartache, and I know so many of you are walking similar paths. The holiday chaos comes with its own special kind of weight when we're carrying grief, doesn't it? For many of us, December's holiday chaos brings a complex mix of emotions. It can be beautiful, it can be brutally unbearable, and it can be both at the same time.  To each of you navigating this delicate dance between celebrating the holidays and the messy emotions: I see you. I see how you're trying to hold it all together, how you're wrestling with the "I'm fine" mask that society sometimes expects us to wear. But you don't need that mask here. Not with us. Not ever. Every feeling you are experiencing is valid. Every. Single. One. When the sight of their favorite holiday decoration brings you to your knees. When you can't bear to hang the stockings this year. When you stay in bed all day. When you find yourself laughing at a holiday party and then feeling guilty about it. When you want to scream because the world keeps spinning as if nothing has changed. When you catch yourself setting a place at the table out of habit. When their favorite song plays and you have to leave the store immediately. And so much more that this season brings. It's all okay. It's all part of loving someone so deeply that their absence creates its own presence. For those feeling lost in grief this season, remember that healing isn't linear. Some days you might feel strong enough to participate in traditions, to share stories, to celebrate. Other days, you might need to cocoon yourself away from the festivities, and that's perfectly okay too. Your grief is unique, there's no "right" way to do this. Please communicate your needs to others.  Gentle Reminders 💗 You can feel joy and grief 💗 You can skip every holiday event 💗 You can create new traditions while honoring old ones  💗 You can say their name, share their stories, keep their memory alive  💗 You can cry in the middle of holiday shopping  💗 You can change your mind about plans at the last minute  💗 You have permission to do whatever feels right for YOU Sometimes the hardest part of grief during the holidays is feeling like we need to maintain traditions exactly as they were. But just as our grief journey evolves, so too can our ways of remembering and honoring our loved ones. Whether through small gestures or creating entirely new rituals, there are many meaningful ways to keep their spirit present during this season. For myself I will bake a coffee cake. It will never be the same as when he was here to make it with me. I will cry like every year and it is not easy, but it's when I feel most connected to him. Here are some ideas you might like to try. Ways to honor your person and your journey: 💗 Create a special corner with their photo and favorite holiday items 💗 Light a candle in their memory 💗 Cook their favorite dish (or order takeout if cooking feels too heavy) 💗 Write them letters about how you're feeling 💗 Take breaks from the festivities when needed 💗 Share memories with others who knew them (if it feels right) 💗 Give yourself permission to say "no" without explanation This holiday season, I hope you can be gentle with yourself. I hope you know it's okay to feel everything – the love, the loss, the anger, the gratitude, the emptiness, the fullness; sometimes all at once. For those having a hard time: I see you. I hold space for you. Your grief is welcome here. For those having moments of joy: I celebrate with you. Your happiness honors their memory. For those somewhere in between: I walk beside you. Your journey is valid. Wrapping you all in the warmest, gentlest virtual hug. You are so loved, so seen, and so supported in this space. If you have read this far, sorry for all my gibberish lol, ✨Please let me know how you are doing✨  We will get through this together 🫶

Día de los Muertos ( Day of the Dead)
Grief & Loss / by CaringEzra
Last post
November 21st, 2024
...See more Hello everyone, how's it going? Over the past few days many people have been celebrating Día de los Muertos or Day of the Dead. The Day of the Dead is celebrated from October 31st to November 2nd (depending on where you are) and primarily in Mexico and other countries in Latin America. The holiday is a vibrant and joyous celebration of the lives of those who have passed.  It is a day every year that we remember our loved ones with warmth and love. What It Is All About: Day of the Dead is a celebration that our loved ones who have passed continue to be part of our lives, and we can keep their memory alive by honoring them in a special way. Families gather together to welcome the souls of their loved ones for a reunion.  How people Celebrate:  Families set up ofrendas in their homes or at cemeteries. These altars may be decorated with photos of their loved ones, marigold flowers, candles, and offerings of their favorite foods and drinks. These elements invite the spirits to come and share in the feast. Setting out items that our loved ones enjoyed in life like musical instruments, books, or anything they cherished. The belief is that these items help them enjoy their visit with us once more. Some people will decorate skulls.  Sugar skulls are bright, colorful, and often personalized with the names of loved ones. They are a reminder that life and death are both part of this world. Many people will gather to share stories and food. Families gather to share stories, laugh, eat, and remember good times about the people they have lost. People also gather together to sing, dance, go to parades, and go to grave sites to celebrate the day. Why It Might Resonate: For those of us navigating grief, the Day of the Dead offers a meaningful way to stay connected with those we've lost. The celebrations acknowledge grief but also remind us of the joy and love that never fades for our loved ones. It is a reminder that our loved ones’s are cherished and remain with us. Even if this isn’t part of your own cultural background, there can be comfort in adopting some of these practices. Creating a small altar, lighting a candle, or dedicating a day to celebrating your loved one’s life can be healing. I'd love to hear your thoughts or if any of you have experiences with the Day of the Dead!             What's your experiences with celebrating Day of the Dead?             How do you honor and remember your loved ones? Sending peace and love to everyone here. 💛 Learn More here! [https://englewood.macaronikid.com/articles/67219ae00d58f81f16ec5e35/d%C3%ADa-de-los-muertos-5-day-of-the-dead-traditions-explained]
