Hi <3
- What is the four-part formula that you can use to say any difficult message well?
1. The micro yes
2. Data point
3. Show impact
4. End on a question
- Which one of these parts do you think you could improve on and do better for yourself "and why"?
I believe that the micro yes, because for me the first step is the base of all the process, If I can establish the first step, I will be able to get a dialogue with the other person
- Why do you think it's so important to cultivate a feedback culture here on 7 Cups?
The feedback is important because allows us to grow and continue learning more about it, obviously we must not forget that we must always give a constructive opinion, we are a team, that is why the feedback will help us to create a better experience for others and even to learn more about assistance and other processes. Feedback will help us to strengthen ourselves, asking for help is not bad, in fact in this way we will be able to learn many more things
@Crystaldancer
Very true.. the way you start the conversation makes all the difference

What is the four-part formula that you can use to say any difficult message well?
1- The micro-yes
2- Data point
3- Show impact
4- End on a question
Which one of these parts do you think you could improve on and do better for yourself "and why"?
I could improve on the "show impact" part. I think it could be improved because, with different organization cultures it's easier to offend someone while sharing the impact.
Eg: At a time I couldn't complete my task because the other person didn't give me the preliminary details needed for my work. While I might want to say that it impacted my work and I couldn't complete it until I receive all the details, I also have to think about the workload the other person might have been in.
So, I believe the impact has to be shared cautiously as we all interpret things differently.
Why do you think it's so important to cultivate a feedback culture here on 7 Cups?
7 Cups is a place where we support each other and grow as a person. Like it was mentioned before, receiving feedback can be helpful to see your progress and to feel proud of yourself for a job well done. The same goes with giving feedback as well, as long as we give feedback properly and gently they are going to help and support another person to progress on their journey.
I must also mention that as I believe feedback should not only be about something gone wrong. Feedback should be given as a praise or to tell the other person they are doing well on their job as well. After all, we all need a little motivation to move forward. :)
@Heather225
- What is the four-part formula that you can use to say any difficult message well?
-
Micro-Yes: Asking a short but important question. It is a pacing tool and gives the brain some time to actually process by saying yes/no.
-
Data Point: Be objective and specific.
-
Show Impact: Tell how you were impacted by a certain action (data point).
-
End on a Question: This step creates commitment rather than just compliance.
- Which one of these parts do you think you could improve on and do better for yourself "and why"?
I need more work on data point. Because, I feel uncomfortable being objective and direct sometimes thinking that I might hurt the other person unintentionally.
- Why do you think it's so important to cultivate a feedback culture here on 7 Cups?
Feedback is the fuel to overall growth. At 7cups, there is “high expectations and high warmth” and a place like this demands us to be better each day than the last. At the same time, we are also accountable. Feedback is really important for us to get better individually and overall as a community.
@Prachi9876
A great way to combine high expectations and high warmth with feedback.

What is the four-part formula that you can use to say any difficult message well?
The four-part formula that I can use to say any difficult message well is:
1. The Micro-yes
2. Data point
3. Impact statement
4. Ending with a question
Which one of these parts do you think you could improve on and do better for yourself "and why"?
I could improve on creating and making data points as I really lack in going into specifics and I feel lost.
Why do you think it's so important to cultivate a feedback culture here on 7 Cups?
It’s really important to cultivate a feedback culture on 7 Cups because in order to accomplish our mission and goals, we need to be aware of what we are doing and how we are doing it. If we ask for feedback, give and receive feedback, we would become more skilled in our work and it would help us in growing personally and professionally.
@caringHope1976
Indeed, it allows us to grow on a personal and professional level.
@Heather225
1. The micro – yes.
2. Data point – talk about the specific situation/action that requires improvement rather than using any blur words.
3. Show impact – Show how the situation/action impacted further.
4. End on a question – Ask about the person’s perspective about the situation and the feedback.
- Which one of these parts do you think you could improve on and do better for yourself "and why"?
End of a question is usually something I fail to recognize. Sometimes, I give so much advice and information that I forget to formally ask the individual for their own perspective. Especially if a person is more reserved, it's important that I bring up that question!
- Why do you think it's so important to cultivate a feedback culture here on 7 Cups?
- What is the four-part formula that you can use to say any difficult message well?
The four-part formula that you can use to say any difficult message well is: the Micro-Yes, the Data Point, Showing Impact, and End with a Question.
- Which one of these parts do you think you could improve on and do better for yourself "and why"?
I can definitely work on giving my Data Point because sometimes during a difficult conversation, I like to blur the conversation, meaning that I don't exactly get my point across while also confusing the listener. By being more direct in explaining what the person can improve on or continue doing well, more effective results can be produced on the listener's end.
- Why do you think it's so important to cultivate a feedback culture here on 7 Cups?
Feedback culture is especially important on 7 Cups because we are a growing and adaptive platform which aims to conform to the different needs of the individuals that reach out for help. Without feedback, we won't be able to improve in our methods of communication and in our knowledge of certain topics that may be vital for supporting individuals on 7 Cups.
@Nerdtastic01
Good luck.
Yes, feedback is necessary. :)
@Heather225
Hello everyone 👋👋👋👋
- What is the four-part formula that you can use to say any difficult message well?
Micro-yes
Data-point
Show impact
End on a question
- Which one of these parts do you think you could improve on and do better for yourself "and why"?
I could improve on 'Show Impact.'
- Why do you think it's so important to cultivate a feedback culture here on 7 Cups?
It is certainly important to cultivate a feedback culture in a positive, welcoming and friendly manner. We are all humans with areas we can improve on. I have met great leaders and listeners on this website, who are willing to patiently answer your questions and provide in-depth feedback on my performance in a constructive manner. It is always for an open and safe place for growth.
- What is the four-part formula that you can use to say any difficult message well?
- The micro yes: Asking someone if it's okay to share feedback or if they have time to talk opens people up and prepares them to receive feedback
- Data Point: Giving a specific action/ situation that the person did that you will be giving them feedback on, so they know exactly what you are talking about and there is clarity about the situation.
- Show Impact: Letting the person know about the bigger picture and how their actions then influenced others can help them see the real-world impact they had, and also how their impact would change if they accepted the feedback.
- End on a Question: This involves the individual so they can take an active part in enacting their feedback and take control of it themselves. It will help them to feel more committed to improving.
Which one of these parts do you think you could improve on and do better for yourself "and why"?
I think I could do better at the 'data point' part because I do tend to waffle a lot so people don't feel upset when I'm giving feedback, but I think in the long run by structuring my feedback in this concise way will allow me to support people better in improving and help there to be clearer communication between us.
Why do you think it's so important to cultivate a feedback culture here on 7 Cups?
7 Cups is continuously growing and expanding in many different directions. There are also many different leaders due to its decentralised nature, so having a good feedback system helps to ensure that 7 Cups stays true to its vision and values. It helps us improve as leaders and see better what the community needs to thrive. It also ensures that although there are so many projects all happening at once, good feedback can ensure that they all have the most positive outcomes possible and will lead in the right direction.
@Heather225
- What is the four-part formula that you can use to say any difficult message well?
Part 1: The Micro-Yes - asking a question that is short but important. It lets the brain know feedback is coming.
Part 2: Data Point - Name specifically what you saw or heard and cut out any words that aren't objective. Avoid using blur words/statements if possible.
Part 3: Show Impact - name exactly how that data point impacted you.
Part 4: End on a Questions - Wrap your feedback message with a question.
- Which one of these parts do you think you could improve on and do better for yourself "and why"?
I could improve on the third part (Show Impact) because whenever I offer feedback I do not remember to include this part. This is important because that way it gives you a sense of purpose, meaning, and logic between my points.
- why do you think it's so important to cultivate a feedback culture here on 7 Cups?
As an aspiring leader here on 7 Cups, it is important for me, as well as for all the other leaders here, to cultivate a proper feedback culture in order to assist new listeners and offer helpful advice without being too indirect and soft, but also without being too direct.
@Heather225
very informative
