The formula is micro-yes, data point, show impact, ask a question.

I think i could use show impact better, so people can see how their actions affect others.

It's important because we are all trying to improve every day, and we need feedback to help us.

Hello Everyone!

1. What is the four-part formula that you can use to say any difficult message well?
The four-part formula:
~The micro-yes
~Data point
~Show impact
~End on a question

2. Which one of these parts do you think you could improve on and do better for yourself "and why"?
I think the "Show Impact" point is something that I can chip away at better.

3. Why do you think it's so important to cultivate a feedback culture here on 7 Cups?
It's significant in light of the fact that we are learning every day and nobody is perfect. By working with a healthy feedback culture, we help make space for development and improvement for others as well. Having a feedback culture, will assist us with building trust among one another, develop collectively, and generally speaking make 7 Cups a positive experience for everyone.

Thank You!

Be the change that you wish to see in the world.

Hello friends :)

- What is the four-part formula that you can use to say any difficult message well?

1. The Micro-Yes

2. Data Point

3. Show Impact

3. End with a question

- Which one of these parts do you think you could improve on and do better for yourself "and why"?

The ‘show impact’ part of the formula. As was mentioned in the video, this would create a meaningful and logical connection with the data point.

It also means the other person is able to understand better what impact or effect their actions have had. Even while receiving feedback, an impact statement is something I truly appreciate.

- Why do you think it's so important to cultivate a feedback culture here on 7 Cups?

What we do on 7 Cups is likely a new experience for most of us. They’re not the traditional workplace roles which means all of us have a lot of continuous learning to do.

When we apply this learning, it’s more than likely we may make mistakes or misunderstand how something is supposed to be done; especially as communication is online, the chances of this are quite high. By cultivating a feedback culture, there is a more open and direct line of communication that can aid in the improvement of the community as a whole.

The four part formula?

The micro-yes, Data point, Show impact, and End on a question

Which part i can work on?

I feel like its the show impact part

Why is feedback important?

feedback are ways through which we can recognize our weak areas and work on them. Having a feedback culture in 7 cups would ensure that every listener can realize where they might be lacking and what needs to be done about it. It will help the community to grow

- What is the four-part formula that you can use to say any difficult message well?

1. The micro-yes. This serves as a pacing tool, lets the other person know feedback is about to be given, and gives them a sense of autonomy, knowing they can say yes or no to your short question.

2. Giving your data point. Be objective about what you want to say and directly say the exact words you heard or the things you saw. Blur words are the things we say that could mean different things to different people, they are not specific. Elaborate and give the instance on which you are giving the feedback instead of just plainly mentioning what they have to improve on. The specificity helps to make the person understand what we are encouraging them to do more or less of.

3. Show impact. We exactly express how the said data point impacted us. "Because of x, I couldn't ___" or "Because of x, this particular thing was delayed/impacted in a way we don't want" or a positive one, "I liked the way you handled x, showing how b you are, it helped me with ___." It gives logic and meaning to the points you share which helps the brain grasp the situation much more easily.

4. End on a question. "This is what I thought of ___, but I am curious what you think of it or how you are receiving it?"

All these 4 parts help to make it a joint problem-solving situation rather than a monologue where a person just tells A to do x.

- Which one of these parts do you think you could improve on and do better for yourself "and why"?

I think I can improve on all of them, to be honest. I don't always start with a short question but I do let the other person know I am about to give them feedback on something. For the giving data point, I do that already because I like to be clear with what I am saying, leaving no point of confusion to the other person. I guess I can show more of an impact because I don't think I include that in my feedback usually. And ending with a question is something I always do so I don't have to look more at that.

- Why do you think it's so important to cultivate a feedback culture here on 7 Cups?

It is important to cultivate a feedback culture here on 7 Cups because, in a community, we all have our differences, sometimes we may do certain things or say something which may not be as healthily put or well-received. So, it's important to know how we can improve and do much better. In any community, you have to adjust and listen to what the other person has to say. If we cultivate a feedback culture, we will all be improving on a lot of things and consistently grow for the better. It helps in keeping harmony too in the long run by being receptive to hear what you can do better or get appreciated for what you are already doing.

- What is the four-part formula that you can use to say any difficult message well?

Looking at things from an objective way in order to have consistency and to achieve an outcome

- Which one of these parts do you think you could improve on and do better for yourself "and why"?

I disagree with the video about "blur" words. These blur words give us helpful information about the situation.

- Why do you think it's so important to cultivate a feedback culture here on 7 Cups?

It's important because we as a community need to be educated and to have the ability to grow successfully.

I would like to see more interactive leadership on this app and site. Thank you to all of those in the background too!!!

What is the four-part formula that you can use to say any difficult message well?

1. Micro-yes question, as a humble inquiry if the other person is okay to receive a feedback.

2. Being specific, and not using ambiguous/blur words. Provide clear data of what happened.

3. Explain the impact/consequences of the actions.

4. End Question. Ask for their opinion about what you said. Also, pull others' feedback from time to time.

Which one of these parts do you think you could improve on and do better for yourself "and why"?

I have never practised giving feedback this way I suppose. But the four steps sound very relevant to follow when giving constructive feedback to someone.

Why do you think it's so important to cultivate a feedback culture here on 7 Cups?

It can do woders to building community. Feedbacks help us see things from new perspectives, as well as strengthen the team-bond when we work being aware of different individual perspectives and suggestions.
