Identifying triggers these triggers could be anything, any emotion or situation that you know could lead to self harming 2. Internal coping strategies. These strategies are internal strategies meaning these don't require you to contact another person they could be anything that could help you take your mind off of self harming 3. People and social settings that provide distractions. These are people you could talk to or places you can visit to distract yourself 4. People you can ask for help. These are people you trust 5. Professionals or agencies you could contact during crisis. 7 cups has a lot of crisis resources you could turn to❤️ 7 cups listeners are also a good choice to talk to if you want to talk about self harming experience in the past or the urge in itself but it's necessary you turn to our crisis resources if you are actively self harming at the moment 6. Making your environment safe❤️ this means making sure your environment doesn't have anything that you could use to harm yourself you can even get a family member to do it for you❤️ SHR taglist Real failure is when we stop trying. With school starting many among us might be going through a journey to recover. The journey to recovery might feel like a long and daunting process but having a little support even the slightest bit of encouragement or a simple "I am here for you" might go a long way. We can support our peers in many ways including being willing to learn and to teach everyones journey is different and there's always something we can learn from that. Educating those who might not be familiar with aspects of self harm can help go a long way too. Being willing to listen without judgement is a great way to support your friends sometimes all we need is a shoulder to cry on, a friend to talk to.
